  1. Switched to flickr now, auto syncs any photos on our phones so no losing any precious moments. Also have our Panasonic G7 syncing photos.
  2. I thought the GT86 had pretty good residuals, the used market will soon be flooded with Golf R when all those cheap lease deals end.
  3. Big things are promised when android wear 2.0 is released sometime soon. It should bring more support for fitness app usage without the need to carry the phone.
  4. Other half has a Moto 360 2 and I recently got a Huawei W1 Classic as it came free with a new phone contract. I dont use mine much but it comes in handle as a fitness tracker and has some cool features including a built in speaker. Other half uses hers daily as being a teacher it allows her to recieve calls or txts without having her phone on her in class.
  5. I have the Nextbase 212, good little unit and it fits nicely behind the rear view mirror. Its hardwired into the fuse box so no visible wires either.
  6. I never got around to removing the CDV from my old E85 or E92 but they do swear by it on the Z4 forum. I dont know if ive learnt to live with it but the one on the F11 is much better. I found the E92 would sometimes run away from you at slow speeds as you never had real control of the clutch.
  7. My other half is a science teacher, she teaches from 11 years old all the way up to 18 so covers biology, chemistry and physics at both gcse and A level. Recently she set up key stage 3 at her school and has become a year 7 tutor which also involves teaching geography, history, RE and assists with english and maths. Anyone who says teachers have it easy with 13 weeks off a year and only work part time just dont know. I work 8-4:30, come home and thats it, teaching takes up so much time with little financial reward so you really do have to do it for the kids. Other half is currently getting involved in SEN to help the most at risk kids.
  8. 5 series 8 speed auto has a hold button for this so you dont have to use the handbrake at all.
  9. I like the electric one, turns itself off when you pull away.
  10. Having driven a 5 and 3 the m140i series is a let down inside, small dial display, manual handbrake and the cabin quality is lackin. It does drive like any other 1 series at town speeds, if I order one im making sure it has most the options ticked and going for the valencia orange.
  11. Same here but at the time of getting the GT86 I still had my Elise so couldnt afford a M135i. Plan is to get a M140i next year now.
  12. My GT86 is quicker then my old E92 320d, 1.4 tons with 177bhp and 258 lb/ft, also qicker then our 520d with 190bhp and 295 lb/ft but that does weigh 1.7 tons. I'm not saying the GT86 is fast but it isn't slow and has a decent turn of speed.
  13. When your on it its certainly quicker then most 4 pot diesels as it still is 200bhp and 1300kg.
  14. On paper the 0-60 is slow mainly down to the tyres and the need to shift gears again to hit 60. Once moving its pretty brisk but you do have to work at it which can be involving as well as rewarding. A few small mods and a remap will see another 20bhp and transform the car. First thing to do is get rid of the oem michelin tyres, my car was on michelin front and ditch finders rear, it was all over the place with the traction control constantly on and it did float around at speed so I wasn't that confident on B roads. Now it has uniroyal rainsport 3's all round I rarely see the traction light and it gets off the line and out of corners quicker, it reminds me alot of my old Elise without the performance. Brakes don't have the best initial bite but do stop well, oem pads are really squeeky so best changed also.
  15. Got around 15k miles from the michelins on our old Juke Nismo and they had about 3mm left, ive heard the contis are alot worse barely seeing 10k miles.
  16. BMW really are pushing new cars and it doesnt make sense to buy a pre reg or slighly used. For starters the APR on used is 10.9% where as new its 2.9 to 4.9% A friend of mine has just bought a 440i Gran Coupe with near £10k of list along with 2.9% makes its alot cheaper then any of the used examples he looked at. I dont have £30-40k to buy a car so finance anyway possible aslong as the monthly payments fit my budget.
  17. Back seats are worse then the Gen7 Celica, about all there good for...
  18. I've had a gen 7 Celica before, picked it up as a cheap run around and would definitely have another. I agree about the looks of the GT86, it looks faster then it is, for this reason I've not gone for an exhaust upgrade and body mods.
  19. Errr ......... they are? See many , many threads on here about the evil that will occur if you turn the traction control off for evidence :o Never found mine to be massively tail happy.
  20. Oem prius tyres are pretty poor and they were chosen for that reason, its part of the reason 0-60 isnt great. I use rainsport 3's simply for there wet performance. People always seem to ask me if the 350z was tail happy and have this impression that they are.
  21. I was under the impression that was one of its key points, hence the skinny tyres! But you have to want it to go sideways. It doesn't just slide around all over the place.
  22. The 86 is so well balanced with so much feedback similar to an Elise its very easy to provoke it even at slow speeds, its then very easy to control on edge. At speed it does move around a little but still has plenty of grip, its not like its setup to go sideways every where. There's been a few times where I've thought I've over done it into a corner in the Elise for it to just go round well within its limits, finding the limits of an Elise you would have to be really pushing on. A 350Z in comparison being a GT car does feel very heavy and not as chuckable.
