  1. You are correct mate I feel for their families and regardless who they were it's a terrible event accidental or otherwise.
  2. Sorry in advance for posting a seriuos subject here but i feel very strongly about this incident. My dad was in the Polish Army and the stories i was told about the horrors that occured during those dark times makes it hard to view current events without synical eyes. During WW2 wasn't there a decree that any ministers of parliament, officers or military leaders in fact anyone of any importance was not to travel in the same plane in case should anything happen to that plane you don't wipe out your leaders etc in 1 fell swoop? So WTF were they all doing on the same plane? Furthermore they were flying in from Warsaw to mark the 70th anniversary of the 1940 Katyn massacre where Polish officers academics historians and POW's were executed in Katyn Forrest by Russian soldiers! I am not one to start conspiracy theories but you have to think someone thought what a gift all the Polish top brass etc on one plane over Russia? So why do such a thing? What has been the problem recently well let's see oh yes the Yanks want Poland as it's missile launch pad for the East just on the Russian border and the current PM and Goverment had agreed this? Coincidence? What else has been agreed that we don't know about? So take out the guy you don't want and force an emergency government in and well who knows put your man on the inside in the meantime. Anyway sorry if it's a bit serious for the 350z forum but I just wondered what others think? I mean you would never think of invading a country for it's oil now would you? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8612825.stm
  3. Thanks Nixy we had only decided recently still not 100% sure I am doing the right thing as it's te best Vw I have ever owned! Attak just figured out what your acronym is! Thanks mate
  4. Well Andy after years of resisting them - my exact words' they are rot box money pits!' we are looking at a 1972 Vw baywindow camper van , back to aircooled for me , well 20 years of Vw parts best put them to use!
  5. Relunctantly I have to sell my beloved Transporter van due to an impending camper purchase. 1998 VW T4 Transporter panel van, SWB , full service history cambelt changed etc, all Mot's from new, handbooks etc, 1 tonne payload, 1.9TD engine (bullet proof and pretty spritely for its age) 11 months MOT and tax. 1 Company owner before me (gasket fitting company - so light duties) Non smoker hence a mint original cabin even the drivers seat is not wrecked as they normally go on the O/s seat base. Double passenger seat folds flat. Its ply lined in the back - I have tinted the tailgate glass (double doors) and furnished with club sticker - this will be left on at no extra cost! Non bulkhead model but made a ply bulkhead - covered in material and speakers fitted (easily removed 4 wingnuts and cable unplugged via Phono connections.) Original Stereo replaced with modern Face-off Radio/CD/Ipod controlling via cable with Remote control handset. Original can be refitted if you want that period Sony VW Radio Cassette look from 1998! You have to see this van - it has low miles from new. 77K when I got it 2 years ago now on 89K miles. Always passes its MOT with no work required even passes modern emmisions test - MOT station always compliment its condition, like new underneath. Tyres are good all round (with brand new spare) new exhaust just before I got it. Gets about 38 - 40 mpg about 600 miles on a tank. I intended to convert it to a Camper myself this year but dont have the heart to cut windows into the side etc - its far too good. I have only used it for commute / DIY jobs nothing else. A few niggles: Couple of tiny dings from the previous owner. Once in a blue moon the starter motor screams its head off - then never does it again for weeks - Starter soleniod will need to be greased up thats all - it starts first time every time Small hole in the passenger seat base (biro sized) I have repaired it though. Heater control is stuck - plastic lugs inside the dash unit broken (common on the T4) so just move the valve in the engine - never got round to fixing it. Drivers door window sticks on wind-down, needs door trim off and greasing. Always looked after like all my cars and yes its been buffed, polished and Blackfire waxed too! I will post up more pictures later Looking for £3100 ono Please PM me for further details, questions etc Thanks for reading Stan

  9. If I had'nt read the posts but just seen the pictures I would have spotted an IT geek convention a mile off! Takes one to know one
  10. Be patient young Sir - might be worth taking the SIM card out and leaving that bit open - help get the air in quicker - DO NOT take it apart!!! Let it dry like the good townsfolks of the foum have suggested - had similar with my old Moto phone years ago - dried on the radiator (dont do it with an iphone) left it for a few hours and it was fine. Remember they are actually tested for this sort of stuff of course not against Chocolate Gateau failure though Mines survived skiiing across the top of the van dash when going round a corner - trying out that free Heads up app which is crap btw!! , bouncing off the works carpark tarmac but best of all survived a direct hit with my kitchen's Porcelain floor tiles and lived! only 18 months contract left - lets hope its still going strong!
  11. Oh dear - 01:46 am - not good! hope your home by now - what type of van is it?
  12. Happy anniversary mate - this club is like the M25 once your on you can't leave! Btw your avatar still freaks me out
  13. Nice one mate - there is nothing to worry about they are the same as the standard ones and when I had mine they were fine - cant complain for the money and they do work well
  14. Folks could do with some help from the Aircooled heads on the forum I know your hiding somewhere? As you may know I've had Beetles and Vans for years but never a Baywindow camper. We are thinking of hiring one for a short holiday this year. (But all the hire companies are at the far ends of the country!) Yes one of these tubs Looking at a few websites etc its not very clear how big they are inside for us 3, plus travel cot etc etc... I know its a long shot but wondered if anyone in the Manchester Area with a Bay camper, would be willing for us to have a look? Thanks in advance
  15. everyone seems to be messing with brake pads on the forum this week! www.brakesinternational.co.uk £19 rears £27 fronts +VAT nuff said they are Mintex OEM and were great and did'nt dust as much as the originals
  16. Coincidentally I spent 3 hours this weekend waxing my new Alloys replaced under warranty. Unfortunately the 300C alloys are bad for corrosion - worse than a 1972 VW Baywindow camper van! So I had to try to protect them as best I can. 1) Washed in Fairy liquid 2) Dried off then polished with MER 3) Waxed with Poorboys Wheel wax (twice)both outside and inner rim and also as much into the nooks and crannies as posible 4) Left to set hard - then buffed off 5) Blackfire Spray Sealant on the top and buffed off 6) Blackfire Tyre Sealant Refitted to car. Really pleased with the results and lets hope they help minimise future corrosion
  17. Dont bother with a mechanic you can do this yourself if they are worn - they are easy to do. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=23365 On another note - the inner pads tend to go before the outer - especially the rears - they get to a low level and then just go - no warning, nothing dangerous they just crack. Of course the rears will outlive the fronts by miles. I replaced my factory pads with Mintex from Brakes International - they cost peanuts, a lot of forum members have gone for performance pads which apparently dont dust as much as the stock ones and of course better performance against brake fade etc etc but I was happy with my Mintex ones. Dont forget its not just the brakes that help stop the car make sure you have decent tyres on too with plenty of tread
  18. come on Mart - no negative waves man! We are supposed to have a hot summer this year - so they tell us- well everythings is going back to the 70's - strikes, unemployment, duff hair cuts , Denim why not the hot summers!
  19. Do you think they have moved on a few years and will be razzing around in Metro now!
  20. Do you have a lot of speed bumps near you - and are they the seperate mini hump types - we have loads and my factory bridgestones were similar before I changed to Falkens.
  21. There was a recall on the new roadsters for the slave cylinde to be replaced had mine done but was fine anyway before and after? Mechanic even thought it was a waste of time as it was fine ???
  22. +1 Congratulations matey 5 hours or there abouts too for us but it's worth it for the smile on her face
