    Ruined alloys

Just been looking into this stuff. Looks fairly good but not sure its worth the money over a decent hard wearing wax. 4 layers of Colinite 915 will protect the wheel from oxidation just as much and will cost a fraction of the cost. If you are going to use this stuff be VERY careful what you use to wash the wheels as many high-street wheel cleaning products will strip it nice and quickly rendering your expensive sealant a waste.

Is this Zoopseal any better than a properly polished and wax wheel? Get a few good layers of wax on a wheel and its amazing the difference it makes. Means cleaning them is sooo much easier as the dust just come straight off them.
  3. Just make sure you take lots of pics. Sure it will be an interesting process.
  4. To clarify when i said soapy water I meant highly diluted using soap specially for cars. If you want to make double sure its all clean wash the whole car after clay baring.
  5. I'm probably going to mount the amp in the default sub location. If you wanted to do it for a show you could easy make up some perspex panel that replaced the default plastic sub panel - this combined with some good lighting could look very nice. Also the fact that during normal driving you would be hard pushed to noticed there is anything non-standard there. Unfortunately even to do that you end up having to take off most of the panels.
  6. Fair simple - Wash the car as normal. If you are not in the sun and don't get watermarks normally then no need to dry the car. Then use the detailer as lubricant and rub the clay all over the bodywork drying off easy section with a towel. Once you have run out of detailer you don't need to spend lots on it, a bit of soapy water will do the job just as well.
  7. Looks very nice. What subs have you gone for and what size enclosures? You haven't got the measurements of the side pieces of the box to hand have you? I'm looking at changing round my setup as well to have the subs firing into the boot and moving from 2x8" to 1 or 2 10". Only issue is the amp location as I would prefer not to have it on display.
  8. I've got the 2 way earlier utopias in mine and I do really like them. I was going looking at going for the 3 way and there was space IMO to make some nice dash mounts for the mids and put the tweets either in the standard location or a-pillers. Best thing to do is get some blue-tac and try it out in each position for a day or so and see how it sounds.
  9. Looks like some nice equiptment you got there. Should sound very nice when setup properly. What have you got in the front end? I have to agree that the leather IMO does not look right - it really lets down the build. It looks like you know how to make the builds etc from your use of fibreglass but IMO it would be worth investing a few more hours prepping the fibreglass to a really nice finish and then get someone to trim it in alcantara (or the face alicantara most will never know the different) Done properly it would make your install look awesome
  10. A friend is trying to shift some old stock he has. These are real bargins and some of the best equipment out there IMO even if its a year or sold old. The components are awesome. I had a set in my old car. If I had the cash I would be buying them myself. 11. Ah it made it onto the cover then. Chris mentioned he was going to a photoshoot for a new Nissan mag. Will be interesting to see what its like

    GT-R

I don't agree with it but its possible for them to stop it. I'm not aware of many cars being sold over here in bulk before being released - maybe the likes of the FTO was but that was many years ago and the companies now have got much better layers now. It will happen on a small scale no doubt but if anyone tries it on a larger scale no doubt efforts will be made to stop them.

Not quite true. If you imported it as an individual then you would probably get away with it but Nissan could stop you trying to sell it in this country, especially before its released. Exactly this happened with the PS3's Sony was able to get the sale of imports banned. Can't remember which law they used buy I know if they want to they can stop it. Once its available in the UK its slightly different
  14. Best thing i have found for cleaning the insides of exhausts is a fine flap sanding wheel on a drill. Use that with a bit of autosol - quite messy but you end up with a gleaming exhaust. My friend had tried everything on his Skylines exhaust which was caked - bit of work and it was gleeming again.
  15. I would say Hamilton - OK he did not win it but it was not all his fault - if they had pulled him in a lap earlier (all the techies decision) he would have ended up winning. You could say hamilton should have known but the limits between working and sudden failure are so fine its very hard without all the technical data to look at.
  16. Wembley should be ashamed of the state of the pitch. They can use all the excusses of rain etc but other pitches out there are way better and being played every week. The American Football really screwed it. IMO No matter how much money they made out of it, its not worth the crap reputation they will now have
  17. I agree we need to look to the future but Mclaran has showed that just getting rid of the old is not the best plan. Its only 9 months and we will be into the next qualifiying campain. I thought Beckham did as much as he could when he came on. Maybe a tad better on dead ball but then his kicks were 300% better than the free-kicks/corners we had inthe first half. As said if you watched him he was wanting the ball all the time, wanting to get it in there. I just hate the way the second crouch is on the pitch we just play the long ball game all the time. Not crouches fault and he did all he could last night but it seemed like we went over the half way line and then just launched it. Too many times in the last few matches we did this. Come up against a good team and it gets no-where. Play 1-1 passing footy and even against good teams you can make your break throughs
  18. £250 on a Pionere unit If your spending that much your much better off going for a decent Alpine unit - something like a 9885 or 9877 http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/CDA-9885 ... tml?cat=20 http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/CDA-9887 ... tml?cat=20
  19. Yeah - it was a really interesting review - I was expecting it to be slated by someone who loves driving cars rather than the pure luxury ones and even he was amazed how well it handled etc
  20. but then the TV it self will have an upscaler in it. There is no way to make a non-HD signal into HD. You can scale it up but you only have so much data to start with. How good the upscaled image all depends on the scaler be it in the TV, DVD player, an AMP etc.
  21. Not surprising IMO as it looks much more of a track car to me. There is no way you could that that to the shops and get over a standard road hump (needs 75mm clearance and that doesn't look to have it). Koenigsegg or Ultima for a road car - No contest in my eyes
  22. I have the Orange M700 which has GPS in it and its been very good - only annoyance for me is the lack of a decent onscreen T9 pad (the HTC one is not very good) IMO if I was going to get another one I would get the one with the slide out keyboard thats just about to come out - its only a mm thicker than my current phone (although smaller battery)
  23. Also have a look at the likes of the Parrot CK3100 which also have a phonebook integration and also caller display Such a shame they did not code in caller display to the BOSE unit - would have made it a much better unit IMO
  24. Had 3 quotes from local places to fit it - £242, £250 and £252. One said they would blend the bonnet into the wings which i was not too impressed with IMO they should not need to blend a car so young they should be matching the paint. Got it booked in for a week on Monday - should be 2 days. The place i am using has worked on my modified car before so fingers crossed it will come out perfect again
