Just for referance at the moment the import cost is around £55K so I am guessing even after a while they will be coming across at around £50K min. Personally i don't think imports will bring down the price of the UK cars that much. IMO the price of UK spec 350zs have held really well over the last 1/2 years yet there are loads of cheap imports around.

Which Porsche would you go for at 60K? I get the feeling that the GT-R is going to hold its value quite well.

It pi**ed me right off too. I've got 4 of them along my passenger door which I know have been caused by others as I barely use the door. Once the summer comes think I am going to have to bite the bullet and get the dent guys into the remove them. Sooooo annoying when you clean the car - give it a nice wax and all you can see are these really obvious bloody dings

Think the speed limiter is still an issue. A company has apparently released a replacement (expensive) ECU for it which will work around it but its the only option at the mo

So if they are 30K in Japan lets say 32K to import. Whats the import duty on a car? obviously there is VAT so another 6K on top looks like its 10% so still only 40K imported

Hmm looks like there is a strange setup for users with an _ in thier name. I use the same wiki on my site and if you register a username with an underscore it appears with the underscore in the url but in the documents it appears with a space i.e. http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/mediawiki-1.6.8 ... :Rob_Quads but on the page it shows User:Rob Quads

Trying to copy over a HOWTO I did but I can't seem to log on. By any chance is it setup to not allow the "_" character in usernames? as it says "You have not specified a valid user name." Any ideas?

While I don't think it was malicious in any way IMO it is worth of a slightly longer ban - Why - if you watch the video EVEN if the ball had would not have got it as he would have gone over it. Some have said it was a clumsy tackle which it probably was but if you are being that clumsy then you should not be playing, specially at that level. This is the sort of tackle that really needs to be banished from the game. All that said the most important thing is Eduardos recovery - one of the best young talents in the world - his national record speaks for itself and even this season he managed 12 goals and he has only just got used to the English game. Such a shame he is going to miss the Euro 2008 comp as he could well have been one of the best players there.

Fair play. At least now you can go ski-ing and enjoy the delights of driving the Z rather than having to go and get another car just to go skiing. When I go snowboarding I can only 'just' manage to get my board and bag into the passenger seat. There ain't much room to spare.

yeah they have been doing it for a while - its for the new roadworks that are going to be going on - meant to be lasting a number of months so they are going to use the average speed cameras to enforce it. Think its going to be a 50mph limit

lol - as the fronts lasted around 35K then it might be quite a wait to get all 4 the same. So you would go for the T1-Rs at those prices?

This is a timely thread as I am looking to replace my rear tires. I had the same decision last time round when I did the fronts and went for Falken 452s. I think its generally thought that the Toyos are a better tyre but not by that much. Both middle ground tyres compared to the likes of Eagle F1s etc. At the moment the best I have found is Falken 452s - £93 = £186 Delivered or £206 Fitted Toyo T1-R - £120.50 = £241 Delivered or £261 Fitted £55 difference or 25% if a fair chunk (Both prices were from www.camskill.co.uk)

Being a bit harsh IMO - He was justly bloody scared of putting it into the grass or worse. Having spoken to him many a year ago hes a nice enough guy. Its easy to think you would push it harder but when you are in someone else's brand new car that has not been driven yet which to replace would take months and lots of money you would be backing off a bit. You can see in the Porsche he was pushing it so if he wanted to could but did not want to.....and more to the point did not need to. If he pushed the GTR as hard as he pushed the Porsche he would have blitz the time.

Thought this was an interesting comment. Are they saying it doesn't really protect against road salt? Last Sept(ish) time I had my wheels off and I put a layer of wax all over them (not layers just a quick wax) and they still come up virtually spotless inside and out - that included not washing them for around a month in December too so were black but cleaned up nice and simply with a bit of Maguire's Wheel Brightener. Having done this its something I really would recommend people with alloys do. Might take a day to do but it saves so much time when it comes to washing the car
