  1. Welcome Pippa - I see the Supra is still around. Hopefully we can catch up at one of the shows this year
  2. If a clifford installer will install it such that it does not need to be primed they deserve to be shot IMO and their clifford certification removed. If you by accident knock the remote start button and your car is in gear you could easily hit someone with the car if its in a general car park etc. This could land yourself with a BIG bill as the insurance company will not touch it.
  3. I would rather go for the normal Gti and get it remapped which will get you close to the performance of the R32
  4. Is it illegal to sell blocked phones? Might also be worth mentioning it to the police.
  5. Are you sure its as Big as the GT-R - IMO A Skyline is a tad bigger than a Cossie (having seen both in real life) but the GT-R dwafs the old Skyline so I would say the GT-R is a much bigger car than the Cossie. Everything is just better made now i.e. Compare the seats in the standard cossie and the ones in the GT-R and the GT-R ones are much more complex and advanced which all adds weight. I am sure they could have made the GT-R lighter - as the V-Spec proves but then you are starting with q 70k+ rather than the 50-6K market. Yes the GT-R is heavy but having read and watched quite a lot of reviews of it many have mentioned that it does no 'feel' heavy so IMO the fact its heavy isn't a major factor
  6. Last Pic IMO shows it 100% being real carbon fibre. What you might find is that there is a layer of chopped strand matt with the carbon on top. Carbon can be very strong but you need to use the right resins and a number of layers of the stuff. Things like Carbon bonnets are often fairly flimsy as its only a few layers thick. If that only has a couple layers of carbon it would still be possible to bend it with your fingers.
  7. UK price for the GT-R is around £55K is it not? Yes its not out at the moment but by the time that thing hits production its more than likely it will be.
  8. Thats snowboarding stuff Sarnie... +1 We don't want these Skiers thinking they are trendy and cool well unless they are doing an inverted 360 off the kickers
  9. If its marked at "GBP 46,000 to GBP 48,000 " Then IMO its not in the same market as the 350z. I think I was going to spend 48K I would spend the extra few K and get the GT-R. OK its not quite a coupe but its MUCH faster and have 4 seats and a boot - Bonus
  10. yeah you would have to build it for a specific application i.e. I don't know if the Alpines / Kenwoods have a remote code that is answer/decline. Like you I have my speak button to control source.
  11. At the moment I don't think its possible. Its possible to get the steering controls to work the new head unit easy enough using PAC etc but to get the call buttons to actually operate a bluetooth module is a bit tricker. Easy(ish) to actually build if you have the electronics skills as you just need a little device looking for a certain voltage off the buttons and then trigger a remote accept/decline button press.
  12. I think it would be a good thing if a company such as yours sold the 350z. That said its surprising the amount of people (outside of the forum) that would not who you are and although we all know you are a top company its always hard to convey this to the 'random' punter.
  13. Looking really nice - I'm swaying towards a similar type install funny enough - was chatting to a mate about it last night about how to retain the wheel. The annoying thing is even you loose the spare room most deep subs still won't fit so it would poke up in the middle which is just a pain. Really like the little amp rack - I might have to copy that credit will be given lol
  14. So are you looking to retain use of the whole boot? here is a supprising amount of room in the stock location - I had forgotten how big an area is back there. I would be really interested to know what the volume of the stock location is. It looks like a good 1.5 maybe even 2 cu.ft I'm trying to work out how to get an old Orion H2 sub into the space as I really loved my old one but like the W7 its a chunky munkey
  15. Do you think you could fit a 350z bumper into a 350z (with no passenger)? I guessing someway across the passenger seat maybe?
  16. There are subs which are "designed" for open air but thats mostly just to stop them blowing them selves to part due to not having an enclosure in. Ported sub boxes are specially designed normally of certain lengths and sizes rather than holes everywhere lol.
  17. I am in the process of changing my stereo. I'm going to be designing my next system to use the existing sub hole (not sure whether to use the whole thing dynamatted/fiberglassed as its rather large or a fiberglassed box) So here are some pics of the standard install... Cover Off - The first sign of how well its sealed - to the left is a nice open hole above the amp bracket Sub out - Hmm That looks tiny. It hardly weighs anything either Generally A good sign of how good a sub is, is the size of the magnet and the available travel of the cone - the bigger the better. Hmm that will be rather thin then Sub out Picture The Oh so good Tiny light as a feather sub amp Onto the horrow story - Oh look how many holes there are. It would have been very easy to make it sound so much better by sealing up the enclosure. It would not have taken much. A cover for the belt dispenser and then some covers over the holes - there are actually 2/3 bits covering over some of the holes Not sure what is under this access panel? So as you can see the enclosure is FAR from sealed which I am sure affects how well the subs work. It would have even been easy for them to produce a plastic enclosure which would be an improvement over whats there at the moment.
  18. One extra thought is if you plug your unit in it probably will work if your aerial is plugged in. I actually installed mine all for a month or so before having to tweak something. I tried powering on the unit all plugged in but pulled out of the dash but it would not turn on ....because the aerial was not in - it was using that for the ground!! i.e. power it through the head units chassis - not good. That let me to trace the earth cable finding the lack of it.
  19. Katie was back on the kicker stand with some new Sextons bikinis - what a surprise there
  20. There is no earth in the standard loom - this is the problem - the adapter might use the standard pin in the connector but there is nothing on the car side of the connector. The factory head unit grounds it self via the screws that hold it in. You will have to put an extra cable to one of the fixing bolts from the factory head unit
  21. How does that work then? As the supercharger is just run from the standard pulleys how do you make it suddenly kick in. Not sure how you put a boost valve in there as it would not work as there is never a build up of pressure as when the engine stops slows down so does the supercharger meaning there is no build up of pressure.
  22. Very nice - How much was the front bumper?
  23. If you bought the car new take it back saying it not Fit for Purpose lol. But you would be more than happy with compensation so you can buy another sat nav
  24. To do all that properly is easily going to take a day if not more as you would need to take lots of the interior trim off to route all the cables properly. rear bumper removal for wiring the rear cam etc. It all adds up so £300 for all that IMO is not that far off the mark.
