  1. As has been said - its not like they just walked past the car and scratched it- they will have spent a while doing it. This morning with condensation on all the windows from the night I could clearly see they had gone at the windows too with keys - 4/5 circles on each side and loads on the windscreen. Luckly they didn't actually scratch it and I am sure with a bit of a machine polish it will get rid of any sort of mark left on there. Luckly the camera should be able to cover virtually the whole car without covering the road and I know my neighbour won't mind if it covers part of his drive too. As bad as it is to say it - if lights and cameras mean they try it on else where I have to say job done - whether a pi**ed person is going to care - who knows but at least it will give me a better feeling if there is something covering the car.
  2. There is sod all the police can do really - although if the kids start to congregate around the house again I'm going to be straight on the phone to them asking them to get rid of them. As it stands I just have a nice Police Inceident number and a quote on its way for being fixed. A little linux system running with a couple cameras and a light should hopefully prove a deterant or at least catch whos going it.
  3. This morning I woke up to be greated to a nice bit of vandalism by the local twats. Last few days there have been an increasing number of 'youths' hanging around near my house but up till now other than some noisy mopeds have not really caused any problems but this mornig I was greeted with this... They had covered half the car in some beer, key scratched to metal "Hello" in the bonnet and also tried keeing the window to hell from what I could see when i tried cleaning it. Such a bloody waste of my time and money now having to fix it. There goes part of the holiday funds Also need to get a security light ASAP for the drive and also looking into getting a linux system with a CCTV camera on it although I think the light would have been enough to deter them.
  4. I'm looking forward to a couple years time when OLED has taken over - 47" screen only a couple CM thick on the wall
  5. Yup recommend the Samsungs myself as well. Before buying decide what you are going to be feeding it i.e. do you need 1080p24? do you want a 1080 native panel etc
  6. I think the 350z would look lush if it was all trimmed in Alcantara
  7. Personally have always found the Canons to be excellent, Had 3 now and every one has performed flawlessly
  8. Did I miss something? The review I was watching it was pretty clear that on the track the 350 was much more of a handful than the Z4 - it was a better car round the track. The 350z you really had to wrestle to get it round the corners like the Z4 was. Maybe if you were racing at full tilt then the 350z might have it but for 99.99% of the people out there the Z4 would be the better car to go for. An interesting comparison would be how much better the Coupe was as the main complaint was the chassis which is the biggest thing to be affected from chopping the roof off.
  9. Bose have dropped hugely in my opinion since realizing they have sold out and using their home audio rep to sell in car audio when its not them at all its just branded as their i.e. the 350z actually being a clarion. That system IMO is probably work £200/£250 MAX but because its got the BOSE tag its promoted as a top system which it is far from.
  10. Few to look at.... Cheapest - Sony CDX-GT310 and iPod box ~ £100 Very good Midrange - Alpine CDE-9881R + KCE-422i Interface Cable £152.8 http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/CDE-9881 ... tml?cat=20 If you don't need a CD player best out there - Alpine iDA-X001 - £225 http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/iDA-X001 ... tml?cat=20 Out of them the 9881 is probably the best bang for buck.
  11. Regarding my comment about stripping wax - that was because I used APC as I found it to be more productive than the SnowFoam sample I got with my lance which will start to remove waxes.
  12. Not sure about snowfoam but I know quite a lot of the foam product end up removing waxes etc so be careful. Generally they are a great thing to use. It helps get rid of all the grit and salt off the car before you start attaching it with mitt/sponge etc. Its supprising how clean you can get a car with just a foam and jet wash.. My black car white
  13. I got one of these purely for the water softener side £10 and i now have around 20odd washes worth. I wash the car as normal and then just use the deionised at the end to wash down the car. (On a really hot day does not work as the normal water dries to quickly but if the suns not out it works a treat)
  14. Just had a look at the site - Its rather lacking on information how it really works. i would have expected at least some information at as how it connects to the head units i.e. through changer ports etc. Have you just thought about going for a new head unit - probably not that much more than one of these kits and will probably improve your whole system as a result.
  15. You see this is where IMO banks should be kicked up the arse. Is it that hard to check someones income - in most circumstances no. So if they give out money without checking and people don't have the money to pay back then I think its the bank that should have to sort it out and work with the borrower on how to get a small amount to start with.
  16. At a guess your going to say VCS?
  17. Think I would still take the Bugatti - having seen Tiffs review its just impressed me even more. I was expecting him of all people to rip it to shreads for just being a car built to go in a straight line.
  18. To clarify are you trying to fit the NISSAN bluetooth module or a Parrat Bluetooth kit?
  19. Might be easier just to get a universal kit and wire its yourself - Although its 'prewired' for bluetooth there is actually not much wiring in there at all, its just links to a few buttons on the stering wheel and into the stereo. What head unit do you have - Standard / Bose or Aftermarket?
  20. Have you checked with the parrot site you have the right leads - For Bose this is the installation doc - http://www.parrot.com/documents/en/supp ... an_ad1.pdf Others available at http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/instal ... 27&etape=2
  21. You sure your connecting into the correct plug - I would have expected the Parrat kit to connect up to to the cables behind the head unit rather than the one in the arm rest where the normal phone connector goes.
  22. Do you know if its possible to get a copy of whats on the memory key that was given out at VMWorld? Whats your position. I've been speaking to one of the guys in the US about getting an extended VirtualCentre for VMServer demo but he seems to be away at the moment. Do you know if ESX 3i is going to be made available aftermarket? I've not seen any pricing on any of the sites either - whens it due for release?
  23. I can't run 4 VMs per CPU - I need to run 2CPU sometimes 4CPU images etc. I am using many of the blades as database servers etc which are servicing large machine being used for stress testings. Thus in total I may only be running 15/18 images in total on a bladecentre. The main reason to use ESX is to use VMotions ability and the ability to switch the systems between platforms as and when they are required i.e. run windows for a week then switch it over and use linux the next week etc The alternative to me is buy a second bladecentre and then run all the database etc in HA - but this requires much more skills as it would mean running DB2, Oracle, Sybase, SQLServer, WebSphere, Tivoly etc all under HA. Thats a lot of skills and stuff to maintain but a ESX system is effectively 1 HA system to learn which would give us coverage on all platforms As you can see - it now harder to justify the extra cost to those on high. With sums like yours above its easy but when you are talking about skills, maintenance etc those that count the pennies don't really get the picture
  24. ESX 3i is $495, not sure why that is expensive? You get "foundation" for that, and to use the other tools like vMotion, HA, DRS, you just need the extra licenses - no code changes, or upgrades, they are "enabled" by the license. BTW, when you say it is expensive, are you comparing it to the total savings in a TCO? The CapEx and OpEx savings are ridiculously enormous if you get the right utilization rate / Guest : Host ratio? Just picking one customer I know they avoided capex of $1.3M, reduced power by 18%, improved deployment times to one business day, etc. Add all that up and money is never an object.... Ah thats interesting - Wonder if they will sell it as an add-on - I have heard that it might be only available with hardware i.e. when people buy blades etc. When I talked about cost I was talking about the full ESX - the main capability I would be looking at is the vMotion - to get ESX on all 14 blades and it was going to cost around $70K due to the $5750 retail pricing of VI Enterprise - when you think you can buy another fully loaded dual-QuadCPU bladecentre for that its a hard one to justify. Unfortunatly we are in the System test area so lots of small machines are not really beneficial - for me I would love to see a VM that could have 8/16 cores etc - just one of our x3950s runs 8 cores (16 through hyperthreading) and they can be bolted together to present 32/64!) That would give us much more capability as we could run what ever we wanted on the hardware as we needed.
  25. Do you have any pictures of the wheels on your Z?
