  1. I went to a 5 series estate as needed to tow. Good drive really but very different to the zed. If your needs change / getting a family about, http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1177768.htm would be a good buy. (not mine as I have a 3ltr) if you are not worried about mpg as it would be not that far off a Zed. M5 drinks lots more. Otherwise keep the zed and get a cheap converted S1 elise with Duratec, Honda or Audi and you get 200/230/300 BHP in an 800 kg car and would only cost approx £12-17k.
  2. Sorry chaps been tied up recently with hols and getting a duratec conversion to the elise. Caterham still needs fixing but just cannot get off my ass to do it. Just pop back every now and again just to see what's up and see how many have made the jump to a GT-R (too much history to be actively involved). I do not drive in LoTRDC as no where near good enough (in fact quite slow). I know a few of the drivers and work with Pitchy, and Steve W did my engine conversion. Been doing LoT days for a few years now so also know Paul G. Now booked another Walshy day as need training since Le Mans proved I have a long long way to go. Well worth going to see them as always a great race and Cadwell next week.
  3. If its was me, drain oil without running it.....add new cheap stuff and new filter. Then disconnect electric/leads and turn over on starter for a few mins...... remember after 4-5 years the oil will be knackered and will have totally drained out all pipes to the bottom, therefore there could be rust in place there should not be.. If you thrash it on first start with oil drained and rusty internals then could seize/go bang and would be expensive car after all. Would then run on cheap oil for a few 100 and change for decent stuff. Would also change water, no anti freeze at first then drain after few 100 miles. then change with correct amount of anti-freeze this time. IF its been under covers for this time check for rust all over including break lines. (if they are dead then will get picked up on MOT anyway) Change tyres even if they look good, the tyre wall will be knacked/stressed and if you take on track might be very costly lesson.
  4. Be careful as there is more and more modified elise/exige out there. I should be picking up my low power (205bhp) duratec conversion next week but there is plenty of Honda/Audi conversion out there. One chap is fitting an S3 engine and dyno plot at http://www.dyno-plot.co.uk/dyno/dynoplo ... ronics.htm Extremes are http://www.timeattack.co.uk/ta%20driver ... ielmi.html with 450bhp standard setup and can go up to 600bhp would be intrested to see how my NA car will drive versus a zed.
  5. Have some odds/ends for the Zed I could drop off if anyone wants them. 3 spare wheels used for track days...not pretty but do the job...4th was killed at eurotunnel. Have Toyo tyres that would be okay for a few track day on them. Rear brake pads (DS25000) unused, nokia phone holder and maybe one or two other bits...old brake pipes when I went to braided lines. Any takers as all free to good home. You will have to put up with the shame of a bimmer estate at your meet.
  6. Anyone on here got a free trip to Japan courtesy of Nissan
  7. tracked my zed about 10 times and various tracks. I think it is a bad on track but very biased now. It was too heavy and ate disks/pads. Since purchased a 200BHP caterham which is 525Kg so 1/3 the weight and 2/3 the power. Now also got a elise and looking at either 220 NA Honda conversion or 250 Audi. You will enjoy the 350 on track but if doing more than 3 a year then the bills will start to add up. 100% recommend a Andy Walsh (carlimits.com) day. If intrested he could do a 350z only activity day limited 20 cars or 2-4 person training day with zeds if we could fill the places. You do not even need a helmet as not a trackday.
  8. IMHO 350z will drop by the same value as when the newer more powerful model to replace MY03. Think its was 1-2k instant drop for new ones and you either had a 500-1k ish hit for second hand one as trade-in since it was just another thing for them to take **** with, or it took 3 months longer to sell at the right price (waiting for the right chap to come along and make you an offer.) Not a massive hit but 1 all the same.
  9. really impressive what you can do with a couple of projectors now. http://www.easyweb.fr/slideshow.html PS does have nissan content.
  10. If it was me I would spend quickly. After **** up with those having vouchers for Zavvi and the unstable marketplace then I would get ride of any vouchers I had.
  11. Its a roadsport but has a tweaked VHPD engine, 205 BHP in a 525Kg car makes for lots of fun. Has no drivers aids, no power assisted brakes let alone ABS. No stability control just the throttle-clutch-brake and and steering that only has 3/4 turn lock to lock. The elise is bogo execpt nitrons, nut sure about honda (220-300bhp) or Audi (250-300BHp) upgrade as in 3 minds about E.T. Now only if I could drive the things well. Back to OP, please get some videos up as always prefer cars in action compared to stationary pics.
  12. Car looks great. Saw a real race Viper going round Abbeville and he could not get it out of 2nd. Can see it being as much a drivers car as the GTR. Viper has all the power/torque and less tricky so requires the most from the driver. The GTR has less power but far more trickery and a lesser driver could get much out of it. If your main objective is to have fun then Viper is right “thereâ€
