  1. Any of you gents doing the Goodwood trackday on 13th March. It is a Lotus on Track event and is meant to be very well run.
  2. A good friend of mine dropped by this morning and gave me Muvi Micro camera for recording track days. Any advice on where and how best to mount it safely? I understand track day organisers are getting stricter...
  3. Just stumbled across this. Short notice but could be fun... http://www.sumopower.com/page.php/news1#news82
  4. I need to replace my tyres and have decided on Toyo R1Rs but i can only seem to find 40s not 45s - I am in a bit of a rush as i have an MOT to pass on Monday and was wondering whether the 40s are gonna bugger up my handling etc etc?
  5. Have now done two track days with my bog standard Z and have been very impressed with it's performance - 1.01min lap times at Brands with a passenger, full tank of petrol and spare wheel etc - oh, and driven by a complete beginner. The only downside of the Zs performance was it brakes - they got red hot and a bit spongy after 5 or so laps - can't afford a full brake kit but i reckon i might be able to stretch to some new pads - any recommendations? I need something that will work on the road as well. Secondly, my tyres are starting to get a little low on tread so was wondering what to go for? I presume standard size? Would prefer something that will managed a few miles before shredding! Down the line i will need a little more straight line power - any thoughts so i can start saving up. DJC
  6. Thanks again for the input. Drove it home today - fantastic - top down and the motor sounded great! Am looking at carlimits soon - any other track day virgins interested? Any tips on good mechanics in Kent - am thinking about doing a little work on the brakes. Will post some pics soon Cheers Duncan
  7. Thanks for all your views. You've convinced me and i am gonna go ahead and get it in the morning. Choosing a track car for a 6ft 4 in bloke with a dodgy back has been a long drawn out process - squeezing into the Lotus was amusing for everyone else, the Subaru and EVO just didn't feel and look like sports cars, the Porsche was just too "banker" for me and the BMW Z4 didn't seem to have any beans - after all this suffering came the Nissan... Thanks again, planning at track day in March / April - might see you there! Will need some coaching as previous experience is all bikes - anyone out there you can recommend?
  8. Hi All, very close to buying my first 350z and was wondering if anyone has any views on how they perform on track days.
