  1. Get Bex some Eibach springs for xmas, no probs with the drive being busy then when she cant get up it
  2. My money is on it being extended into the garden so that theres space for 2 Thats how it used to be Chris but we had the fence put up for some extra privacy and security. You should be able to get planning permission for a garage no probs then
  3. Chris`I

    My first mod

A sticker on each wheel would look nice, but just not a 350z one The badge looks good, I have one the same and one on the front too Are those the cameras in the front bumper I spy?
  4. My money is on it being extended into the garden so that theres space for 2
  5. Keeping them away from the chavs (thats a joke before anyone starts! )
  6. Congrats bud, but what have you done? Amanda is going to want one now This one Erm, wasnt this Bex's all along
  7. Supposed to a bit - maybe someone who already has one might comment?........ Its uses are 2 fold: 1. Blocks off the view of the boot from outside, so you can actually keep stuff in the boot without people being able to see it! 2. Reduces noise from the rear. This with one off the thicker boot matts/carpets can go a long way to blocking the road noise that resonates around the rear of the car. Well worth the cost IMO Oh and it should be noted that JDMs dont come with the so called horizontal tonneau cover. Its a bit of finish that is attached to the boot lid which comes forward to meet the strut bar. If you dont have this, but do have the vertical tonneau, you can still in the boot through the gap that is left.
  8. I think you missed my point mate, and its all IMO of course. Being a mod just means you keep things running, you are entitled to your own opinion, you are not forced into one from the team. What we were trying to cover was why owners appear to be leaving/selling up. What I was pointing out was that the car was a £30k sports car not so long ago, but can now be had for <£10k. This means a lot more people are into modding them in a big way, which some owners dont like. I'm into modding, but only to a certain extent. I like where the car is now, but can see it very quickly being taken over with "chavs" who have more money than sense, and making some really hideous cars. As we've agreed, the car is expensive to run etc, so its not exactly going to be like Novas, but the £30k GT coupe image will be gone. My comment on the 370z move, was simply to mean when I decide I've had enough of the 350z, I will be getting a 370z and will be posting more on the 370z section of this site, but will moderate all sections I honestly dont know why this has you so wound up, everyone agrees the Zed is a great car, and this is a great community, with great members
  9. Still, you have plenty of time to master all the controls now. Takes a while to learn what shutter speed, f-stop etc to (unless you already know about that!). You will be well prepared for the next meet investing some time in working out how the camera works
  10. Guess he decided to exit the road via a kurb at some point!
  11. This was talked about when ESR was still trading, and can be arranged Motul RBF600 will have you sorted, Make sure you get 2-3 bottles to do the job, dont want to go running out of it. Should only take 2, but better safe than sorry.
  12. Alexs SSV cracked running over 600bhp at the wheels. I think this is quite an important point..... Did he have over 600BHP when it first broke? I seem to remember him doing it a few times In the US they mostly say its uselles anyway unless running FI!
  13. Why not use CS, hes based in Leicester (although dont know if he does full services )
  14. Cool, didnt know if you had seen the pics of it or not
  15. According to the official Nissan Service Checklist the brake fluid should be changed at the P2. So I would have thought that the only extra labour would have been for replacing the lines and if you were supplying the fluid then they would be due you money for there own fluid that they never supplied. With the car on the ramp and the wheels already off then I would have thought that an extra hour would have covered the line replacement, say £50.00 per hour, so it looks like they have allowed 2 hours. Repacing the lines and fluid at the same time as the P2 should have been the most cost effective way of carrying out this job. Alex. I concur with this except the labour rates will differ depending on where you are based. It sounds like the OP might be down south going by those prices, in which case the labour only ammounts to 1hr, not 2hrs. Also, I dont think you should ever drain the system fully if its in working order. When I replaced my lines, we took off the old, bunged the hard lines, fitted the new lines and bled the system. You dont ever want to drain the system for something like this otherwise you are in a right messy place and its a biatch to bleed if you get air in the system.
  16. I hear differing views on that. The turbos in the Zed are relatively small so spool up damn quick so you dont notice turbo lag (sub 400BHP), but with the supercharger, I've heard it gives less torque than a turbo until right up the rev range. This doesnt sound quite right to me, but read it loads of places. I've always fancied SC purely for its simplicity
  17. must be doing some serious track days to wear the fronts out first, Needs his geometry checking me thinks. Hows the camber these days Adrian? I wont tell you how long my tyres last doing 60%+ motorway driving. Good for tyres, bad for me having fun Oh and this thing about performance and UHP is a load of balls. As Rob says, its marketing trying to justify higher tyre prices. Base performance on what users tell you and what driving you do. Falkens/Toyo are great road tyres, but do go off on track, but if you never track your car, who cares!
  18. No need to head to Zclub for them - you can get them from him on this very site - viewtopic.php?f=38&t=13443 Vik - I havent seen one myself, but am lead to beleive they are very good, better than OEM (which I can beleive having an OEM one!). I would suggest seeing an OEM and Pauls one. It fills the whole space and not just most of it like the Nissan one. Not sure if he still makes them though.
  19. That was when he was young and trying hard to impress everyone
  20. +1 I think its time for Jay to go get his old car back
  21. Its a shame when such track pedegree lands in the hands of chavs! One way or the other, the Zed is becoming more "common" if not chav. Its cheap enough to mod heavily now, and IMO (my opinion only) that does detract from the Zeds image when not tastefully done, which unfortunately we are seeing more of now. What a lot of newer members forget is that not so long ago, this was a £30k sports GT, which wasnt modded that much because it was so expensive. Now people buy them with the sole intention to make them into a modded show car. To me thats when I wonder if its time for a 370z or a Cayman.
  22. ZMANALEX and R35LEE are the people to talk to, they'll get you moving along.
  23. God this is like pulling teeth! If my rails took that long from you Adam, I'd be bouncing off the ceiling Saying that, cant wait to have these little beauties fitted
  24. And for what its worth, I would definately say to all you budding detailers to see results to be had. Spending £500 on detailing products is nothing compared to the finish you will get from a correcting the paint and then adding decent wax/LSP
