  1. When I went in yesterday (Saturday) there was only a "temp" manning the service desk and aparrently there were no technicians in to speak to. I think a trip back in there tomorrow morning for a proper word will be good. It certainly was pretty dangerous. When I checked, the fluid level was about 10mm below the minimum mark (I just wish I'd have thought to take a photo.) Fish Brothers Nissan, Swindon. One for the "No" list I think
  2. I did, and I had a word . "Oh, sorry, we cant do it till thursday....." Marvelous, lol
  3. They did change the fluid.....although not very well, lol
  4. Hey Guys, Had a service done last week by Nissan Swindon and yesterday I found that my handbrake warning light was coming on during braking. Also, the traction control light came on telling me the system was turned off, and the other light came on (the little skiddy car one). After checking some posts on here I checked my brake fluid level......It was way below the minimum mark! Thanks Nissan Swindon, you are fantastic, great service, lol! I have now topped up the system using Halfords "universal" brake fluid, and all is now well, lights have all gone out. I'm a bit concerned about using the Halfords stuff as it might not be the same as what Nissan put in there on the service. I have now decided to have the fluid changed (just for my peace of mind.) and while I am at it, get the hoses changed for braided ones. Can anyone recommend a decent fluid? I have EBC Turbo Grooves all round with Yellowstuff pads (nice 1 CS!). Oh, and braided hoses? HEL, Goodridge, are they all the same? Chris.
  5. dapsfo1, sorry mate, they were pretty mashed up so I took them to the tip
  6. Gave the new brakes a good bed in yeasterday. Today I noticed a pronounced "hissing" noise from the rears. This goes away when the brakes are applied, and then comes back when the pedal is released. Anyone else experienced anything like this? Also, the anti-corrosion coating has worn completely off the front discs pad sweep areas, but there is still some left on the rears....I'm a bit concerned that somethings up with the rears, what do you think?
  7. For Sale. A pile of old tat. Any offer considered
  8. Went at it this morning with a big mallet and got them off. Just a bit siezed on thats all. Had to get a bit medieval with the hammer though, lol Just off out to bed them in
  9. Hi mate, I soaked it in WD40 and im gonna leave it overnight. I think it is just a case of the disc siezed to the hub. It just needs a good bash with a mallet i guess. I'll take some pics tomorrow morning, the wheel's back on now. But on a plus note, the fronts went on a treat , they look pretty cool. The discs just fell off when I took the caliper off. I'm guessing its the same with the rears, just a big hammer needed! Chris.
  10. Hi Guys, Is there a knack to getting the rear discs off??!! I'm struggling here, lol. Got the caliper off and out the way (those bolts were quite tight ) The disc won't budge. I have loosened off the handbrake adjuster and soaked it in WD40. Gonna leave it for an hour and take a break (no pun intended......) I did try swearing at it a lot and twatting it with a hammer, that didn't work either Chris.
  11. My EBC Turbo Grooves and Yellowstuff pads just arrived from CS . Thats my weekend sorted out! Is there any thing special I need to know when fitting? Looks pretty straight forward to me. Big thanks to CS for a top service with super quick delivery! Top bloke, nice 1, cheers Chris.
  12. Thanks for the big welcome guys! Been having a browse around and learned loads of stuff rtbiscuit - only got a JWT pop charger fitted so far, but I have just ordered a Power Enterprise Twin Turbo Kit from z-store.com (Oh, that last sentence is just a joke by the way... ) Planning on doing some modding though. I got EBC discs and pads sorted through CS already Need an exhaust system next I think. I don't like mods that people can see, I like to keep it looking stock and keep everything tucked away out of sight, if you get my drift.
  13. I Guys, I know I'm new here but I got a couple of questions if thats OK. I'm going to be replacing my discs and pads very soon and wondered what a good setup would be. No way am I going to Nissan for them! I'm gonna try changing them myself. Looking at some of the posts on here it looks pretty straight forward. Can anyone recommend a good supplier? I've been looking at a possible setup of EBC Turbo Grooved discs and red stuff pads (front and rear), or maybe DS2500 pads, what do you think? Chris.
  14. Here it is.... Oh, Nixy, I am an ex-biker. Had 6 Suzuki GSX-R's over a 13 year period......then got a bit old for those cold winters Didn't have a car in all those years either, just the bikes
  15. Hi all, Found these forums when the 350Z I bought already had a 350Z-uk.com sticker in the rear window I'm Chris by the way, very proud owner of a 350Z GT, 55 plate. Its Gunmetal with lovely orange leather (well I think its lovely but I've had a few "negative" comments about that interior!) Great to be here at last. I'm gonna have a look around if thats OK? Chris.
