  1. Close call, I reckon you could have a Stillen for about £1,300 too, but with Envy, at least its a UK based trader if anything should go wrong. I'd say give the Berk a go if you like the look of it
  2. Guess there arent a lot of opinions as there arent a lot of owners with them For me, I have the Stillen, but that was only after hearing Colins, and also the fact they threw the Gen 3 in for free! How much can you get the Berk for?
  3. Bouncing off the limiter maybe
  4. No they should be banned as they cant overtake a milk float! I think a minimum HP should be imposed, somewhere around 200HP ought to do it
  5. Fully agree Ian. In my case I was trying to say for other more simple stuff, there are other garages close at hand that would be cheaper to use, not everyone needs a specialist, but a lot want a specialist. A lot of people just want to get work done by a compentant mechanic. Horses for courses. I wish thought that the arguement of being a paid up trader would end - it does not give you preferential treatment. Being a paid up trader means one thing - they can advertise on here - nothing more, nothing less. It is not a seal of approval. That is achieved by reputation of offering good deals and customers service to our members.
  6. +1 especially depending on the work you want done, be very careful with the hourly rates charged. Some of the more "specialist" garages charge more for their expertise, so wouldnt use them for normal servicing etc, just for bigger jobs, but Tom and the chaps know their stuff and possibly the most competitive rates around How do you mean "specialist" garages Chris? Abbey and TDI? Generally those that have more knowledge (and experience doing engine builds, TT builds etc) which attract a higher rate, and rightly so, but for smaller jobs, where thats not required there are more economical alternatives. Just pointing out the options

  8. I agree, it is crap. Try calling the test drive team if you havent already - 01787 884109 WLMG definately have one to test drive, but its a mission away from you
  9. Cant beleive they cant find you one, what a bunch of **** nutts! Really doesnt help matters does it when they are trying to compete against Porsche
  10. Yup take the bumper off, much easier to see what you are doing and could save a few tears
  11. Keep chat in the chat thread please chaps. Dan edited your post with a quote of the repsecitve result you were querying
  12. IIRC and we are in the same place, it shouldnt be a problem Mart, but best confirm with Z-Club that they are on the same stand as always. It seems a bit more popular this year so we may have been moved to a different pitch.
  13. I'm sure Martin will confirm for sure, but from the top of my head: - We are sharing with Z-Club as we always do, this normally makes for a great sight seeing all the Z heritage together - Normally they are placed just beside the entrance to the actual track itself (noise limit testing bit), between Merlin Motorsport and the Cafe I think. Come in the gate, hang a right and keep going, you will see them on the corner. - Car passes are normally issued ahead of schedule - at least they have the past 2 times I have been with this club and Z-Club - No speed bumps, but grass verge(s) may be an issue. I'll make sure we let the Z-Club chaps know and sure we can arrange something. Do you keep some planks in the car anyway?
  14. Yup they are so much better. I actually told the lady at Nissan test drive team that I was off to get one as it was taking Nissan so long to get me a test drive - and funnily enough, Basingstoke found one Definately give them a ring first to make sure they have them. KJMs was their own demo car, so unless they've sold it, it will be there, but Basingstoke's was on loan from another West Way, so may not have it. Dont expect either to have one. Bit more of a trek but WLMG will definately have one and a roadster
  15. Logically in my head (having never tried it, but covered stuff with Alcantara) I would agree. There arent too many tight bends so shouldnt need much heating and stretching for the most part. Seeing Colins "fangs" on his 370z, you certainly can do complex curves if you know what you are doing, some serious skill involved though!
  16. I'm pretty sure that's correct, I was going to get one for the garden hose before I got a pressure washer Yup, just fits to the hose. If you have good water pressure in your area they work fairly well, but nothing like a pressure washer with a proper foam lance. However the Glimour is about 1/4 of the cost!
  17. From what I've heard, the ADSLNation faceplate is head and shoulders better than the iPlate
  18. Yes its a very big con. If you were on upto 8MB and only got 5MB, then thats the fastest you will get, no matter what they say, unless they have been around and physically changed the lines. If you really want to improve the speed then get an ADSLNation master socket ( http://www.adslnation.com/products/xte2005.php ) and put the router right next to it. It got me from 2MB to 4MB
  19. Fiver. Ok. Done! See you on Monday! Oooh, I'll have one for a fiver, just need to find the land
  20. Yes, Sky will have custom firmware. Why do you want to update though? Unless you are having specific trouble, you shouldnt need to update it. If you are having trouble, its up to Sky to sort given its their hardware
