  1. Quite right matey, that will be going in next. The floor panels of the zed are very thin and rattly so sound deadening went in first to see what difference that would make. It did a good job but not as good as in the 350z. Sound barrier is def needed. I think it got about 2-3dB reduction so far according to my highly tuned iPhone app
  2. As Dan said. And yes they will only give you OEM parts back they don't cover like for like. However if you use the right repairer I'm sure they'll get you aftermarket parts cheaper than the OEM bits.
  3. They take a very dim view of d-box, it's pretty much cheating
  4. Dealerships will always be sheepish about modded cars. They dont want them on the forecourt which means off to auction, where they cant be sure what they will get for it and therefore will always be conservative in offering a PX. Glad you enjoyed it. I think with a low miles car like yours I'd keep it a while longer and wait for second hand prices to drop more on the 370z. When you got close 100k on it then chop it in I found that the stock 370z was a big step up in power from my MY03 Zed, but also once I added exhaust and intakes it took another step forward in power and drivability. Once I get UpRev on there I'm sure it will be almost 100HP more powerful than my old 350z
  5. nothings changed since the last zed then Nope. I have mine modded from my 350z
  6. Plenty of FI options for it these days in the States, 500WHP is possible on the stock block (although the 7AT transmission cant handle it in higher gears, they just arent beefy enough)

Did 2k miles in about 10 days for the Jockland hoon last time around. Just take the usual precautions of fresh fluids and make sure oil etc is all topped up. The only real difference between the 350z VQ and 370z is the VVEL which is not an overly complicated system, so dont expect any issues from the engine at all.
  8. How random, thats Macs for you GoPro footage does look great, I want to get one at some point.
  9. Remember that inc 12 months TAX (inc showroom tax I would guess), so thats quite a bit
  10. Did I miss you finally buying a 370z Paul?
  11. Not a PAC-ROEM then. So atm how do you have the headunit feeding into the Nissan loom? Did you buy a loom converter? Normally if you feed an aftermarket HU into the standard BOSE loom, it sounds very quiet, the PAC-ROEM increases the speaker outputs to what the amps expect.
  12. Do Wales then matey, gives you a chance to take the Zed on proper roads if nothing else. Make sure you do both Sat and Sun drives, you will be very happy
  13. That certainly sounds right for a MY03. Assuming nothing has changed between that and the newer models, I think you are good. Thats the stuff I used to do my old 350z
  14. Never had it done personally, but I have heard thats what can happen! Also can loosen deposits which then get stuck somewhere worse
  15. I cant do JapFest now, sodding mate is getting married. I'm only going for the evening though so might be able to make a cheeky morning of it
  16. Guessing it will be that redex stuff yup. Open - pour - shut - done
  17. Not strictly true - only the drive is for Zeds only. Fair enough for those travelling a long distance this is kind of the point as its a driving meet rather than static, but for those local non-Zed owners (or those willing to travel) we do say all are welcome at the hotel on Saturday. As the event is so succesful we have to limit it to Zeds only, and if it becomes more popular, we will have to limit numbers on a first come first served as we can only usher around 60 Zeds through Wales
  18. To a certain extent Geoff, but I have put second skin sound deadening everywhere in the rear - quite literally removing all the plastic. It hasnt reduced it as much as it did on the 350z if I'm honest. The fact it goes all quiet on smooth roads leads me to think its a lot to do with the tyres.
  19. The Bose stuff is all fed off speaker level outputs, so make sure that any dedicated sub output is turned off, that way it will send all frequencies through the speakers, rather than redirecting the low level sound to the sub. Not sure what the unit is Dan gave you - if its a PAC-ROEM then it goes on the back of the head unit and then clips into the existing wiring that you unplugged from the headunit. The PAC-ROEM also allows you to change the levels per speaker, so have a fiddle and you can adjust front/rear to be right.
  20. 6210 was better, changeable covers (but also came with the TVR like flip effect as standard) and 2 PLAYER SNAKE
  21. Wales for me is the bigger event as its been running for longer - this being the first year for Lakes. If you enjoy driving the most do Wales, if you enjoy the static side of meets do Lakes?
  22. Have to agree there. We have a set of 2 roller bags that we could fill to the top and slide under the strut of the 350z, so for a weekend we had 2 full bags out of sight. In the 370z, because the strut is inverted, the boot floor is raised, so we cant fill the bags anymore as they wont fit. Also dont quite fit in next to each other, they touch the plastic finish now whereas they fit between the strut just fine in the 350z. Also where we now dont have it enclosed, on the UK car you get a roller blind thing, and with bags in the back (not even full) its very obvious there are bags in there. Also agree with the tyre noise. If you roll on smooth tarmac it completely dissapears. I would guess a combo of noisy tyres and harder bushes than the 350z is what causes it. Can wait to get them off an get some PS3 or similar on there to see if that takes it away.
  23. Bushes, suspension and drop links. They tend to wear out, but so gradually you dont realise. Most I've heard of that refresh the bushes say it makes a marked difference in handling and makes it "tight" again. Suspension could be on the way out depending on how its been treated? Again will go over time and you wont notice really until you change. Oh and brake fluid is always worth doing. Brake lines at that age are likely to be deteriorating, so get some braided lines and refresh the fluid.
