  1. That's what's on mine. I intend going for Toyos when I change them. I'm going to do the rears first, then the fronts later - they don't seem to be wearing as quickly as the rears. Tyre traders.com do the fronts for £107 and the rears for £115, delivered and fitted (mobile fitting at home costs a few quid extra).
  2. No exception - mine's the same as Tim's.

It's called tiptronic - thats why I imported my Z.
  4. Glorious over here in the east too today - spent most of the day washing and polishing the Z. Oh and from another Scottish owner - there's quite a few of us on here now. Time for another meet, guys?
  5. I love it when someone else spends money Spoken like a true shopkeeper. Are you open all hours too, Tim?
  6. Yeah - I would swear that they are nudging ever closer in that sequence of photos.
  7. At my P3 recently, I was told that the pads have only a couple of thousand miles left on them and the disks are a bit worn, so I am looking at having to change them by the summer. The fronts are more worn than the rears. Is it ok to replace/upgrade the fronts first, leaving the rears till a bit later? Or would that cause an imbalance in the braking performance?
  8. Just had a P3 done at my local garage (non-franchise), supplied my own oil from Opie, £190 including MOT.
  9. Just played with that site (great find by the way). The Z looks brilliant in PURPLE!!!
  10. Yep. My first one was a 1954 Morris Minor.
  11. Just checked today and Falkirk now have the 99 Ron. Thanks guys

    Barn Find !!!

Awesome! I used to run Lancias, as did my Dad - he was a total fan of the car. I was a member of the owners club and I bet there are a lot of them gagging to get their hands on some of these classics, especially the Flaminia and the Aurelia. What a collection.
  13. My local Tesco in Glasgow has 99RON Do you mean like John O'Groats northerly? That must be a recent change - I had a bad tempered email exchange with somebody from customer relations at Greenergy or Tesco when I complained that we could not get 99Ron anywhere in Scotland. That must have been about November last year. I have not seen any on sale in the Falkirk area.
  14. Very well said, Digsy. Unlike some of you, at my age I am not so keen to start thinking about the next car quite so quickly. I bought the Z with the express intention of keeping it for a long time, based on the fact that there was not much chance of my being able to afford a better car for anything like the money I paid for it. I noticed an Aston Martin Vantage in Glasgow the other day, and I have to admit that I would probably be tempted to swap the Z for it if I could afford it, but I would think twice about it even then. The truth is I would struggle to find the cash for a car like that anyway so the Z is a practical proposition as well as being a desirable and distinctive car to own. Final point - after some of the crap cars (including Ford Escort Mk 1 , Austin Maxi, Morris Marina) I have been forced to drive over many years, due simply to lack of funds, I am delighted to be able to enjoy such a capable, high performance sports car at a reasonable cost.
  15. Or Buckfast! Edit - anything to get the 500th post!
  16. I've done about 6K in the Z in the last year, mainly because I use the train on those days when I have to go into the office, and can use hire cars to get to some jobs. We use my wife's CRV for most of the shopping trips, dog-walking etc. Keeps the mileage down on the Z, which at the moment is tucked up nice and warm in the garage.
  17. Good to see another member from Scotland. We really should get a meet organised when the weather improves. Good choice of colour, by the way.
  18. My Silkolene arrived today - service and MOT due next week. Thanks guys at Opie Oils.
  19. Nope - there are a lot of us really sad gits on here. My wife thinks I'm mental when I park at Tesco's.
  20. It's been pointed out before, but for prospective buyers it needs pointed out again - Not on a JDM

You have no taste in music Sarnie, my music hero was Ritchie Blackmore what a guitar god while with Deep Purple and Rainbow , made playing it look so simple and no live acts today could compare with his best performances. Rock Rules!! If the bass line doesn't rattle my windows, i aint interested You don't need music to rattle windows. I saw Deep Purple with Richie Blackmore in 1970 - it was the loudest rock I have ever heard, before or since, but what made it special was that every note and every instrument was crystal clear, and it was musical!!!!
  24. I think the simple answer is that the Japanese do not use salt on the roads at all. I presume they must use snow chains or studded tyres, especially in northern Honshu and Hokkaido, where winters are much more extreme than they are here.
