Very well said, Digsy.
Unlike some of you, at my age I am not so keen to start thinking about the next car quite so quickly. I bought the Z with the express intention of keeping it for a long time, based on the fact that there was not much chance of my being able to afford a better car for anything like the money I paid for it.
I noticed an Aston Martin Vantage in Glasgow the other day, and I have to admit that I would probably be tempted to swap the Z for it if I could afford it, but I would think twice about it even then. The truth is I would struggle to find the cash for a car like that anyway so the Z is a practical proposition as well as being a desirable and distinctive car to own.
Final point - after some of the crap cars (including Ford Escort Mk 1 , Austin Maxi, Morris Marina) I have been forced to drive over many years, due simply to lack of funds, I am delighted to be able to enjoy such a capable, high performance sports car at a reasonable cost.
