  1. No sat-nav = just a cubby. Mind you, it's quite a good place to put a portable sat-nav - mine works a treat in it and it is a totally stealthy instal. Don't know about the knobs, sorry.

    The Darkside

This sounds very much like Turtle Wax "Wax it Wet". I have used it a few times and it works very well. It repels the remaining water then buffs up very easily to a good shine. I don't think it contains carnuba wax, though, so I don't know how well it will last compared to other products. By the way, I recently tried P21S Carnuba wax for the first time and what a result - easy to apply and buff off and gives a deep shine! I'm planning to add another layer as soon as the weather allows.
  3. My wife bought us (me) a Mio Digiwalker C510 for Christmas. It sits very nicely in the cubby and receives the signal very well. I don't have to use it vey much but I have been very pleased with its accuracy so far. It has audible and visible alerts for speed cameras. http:// http://www.mio-tech.be/en/gps-navigatio ... erview.htm It comes with a cradle mount which normally attaches to the rubber sucker arm to the windscreen. I have attached the mount to the floor of the cubby with a couple of small screws and the unit just pops in and out when I need to use it. It means I (we) can use it in my wife's car as well. I have not attempted to hard wire the power supply for it, mainly because the power socket behind the driver's seat is not working and I have not been able to trace the fault. However, the battery life is around 8 hours so it has not been a problem so far.
  4. What part of Scotland are you from? I think there are a few of us in the Falkirk area, some from Glasgow, Ayrshire, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
  5. Yesterday afternoon, in the Avon Gorge heading towards Bathgate. I waved but got no response.
  6. Never mind the feedback - would you buy anything from somebody who has such a poor grasp of spelling and grammar?

    New 350Z test driven

I did not read that but it had some fancy name like passion fruit orange!!!something like that anyhow. Premium Passionate Orange.
  8. I was going to agree with you until I realised that I would rather forget most of them because they were so awful. I do wish I had a picture of my first car though - it was a 1954 Morris Minor with split windscreen and pop-up indicators. I bought it for £10 with a seized engine, bought a traveller that was rotting away but had a sound engine and swapped them over. Total cost = £25 and sold it 2 years later for £40. Then I had a Mini - a real one, not that BMW thing they sell now. After that things went downhill - Mk 1 Escort (I will never own another Ford), Morris Marinas etc...
  9. Favourite lunch - Moules frites, with a glass of chilled wine or cider, on a pavement cafe in Brittany.
  10. A touch of groundhog day here?
  11. Excellent - really looking forward to seeing the photos.
  12. Hope some of your winnings are going to go towards all the engine bling you keep threatening to show us. Have you made any further progress with it?
  13. I had a pair of roller skates in 1960!

    Driving days

Seem to remember Liam posting something about this a few months ago.
  15. Same thing happened to me in January. HBOS responded very well and sorted me out with a new card, and wiped out the £1000+ that had been run up on the card. Had to complete the usual declaration forms, but otherwise no hassle. Interestingly, my son works for a rival bank, and he says that rumours are rife that most of these cases arise from inside jobs - employees selling on card details to low-lifes.
  16. Thought I meet try it but something's come up and I can't make it now. I would be keen to find out what it's like for future reference though - any info would be most welcome. For example, is it really only for young tearaways, or is there room for an old fart with a Z?
  17. I'll be working near Dyce and probably staying at the Thistle Airport Hotel. It would be good to meet up - I'll confirm nearer the time where I'm staying.
  18. Anybody going there? I saw it advertised in today's press, but I have no idea what it is like, having never been. Is it worth a look?
  19. Excellent site - must share it with my fellow geographers.
  20. Me too Chris. As you know, I'm not far from you. I'll be keeping a look out for Stew in April, when I will be working in Aberdeen for a couple of weeks.
  21. Steady son, or By the way, I have tried Saga and contrary to expectations, they are not cheap. Maybe just because of the car, mind you.
