  1. Have you tried moneysupermarket.com and compare the market .com? Both worth a try to get different quotes.
  2. Don't despair and keep getting quotes. I found that some insurers (including Admiral whom I was with before) would not quote for an import. They were generally very ignorant about the car and the different models anyway. However, of those who did quote, I did not find that there were huge differences between them and those for a UK car. I eventually settled for a policy with Highway, with protected NCB, £150 voluntary excess and accident benefits package for £346. That was with 3 points to declare as well. Mind you, I am 55 and have over 10 years NCB.
  3. Seems to be the wrong thread for this post?
  4. "A quickie on insurance" It's amazing what you can get on insurance these days!
  5. Especially when you want something to drop.

    Z keyrings

I got one of these from Holdcrofts shop on eBay last year. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... IBSA:UK:11 Worth keeping an eye out for them.
  7. Take your time to read through lots of threads on here about the car, including buying and running imports, before committing to a purchase. You'll find the advice invaluable. Enjoy your Z when you get it!
  8. close. late 04 IIRC. Does anybody know what the differences were? Is it harder or softer than the UK setup?
  9. All on the M77/M8. One GM this morning heading into Glasgow, then a sunset and a GM heading south past Kilmarnock around 2.00pm. I waved at them, but don't know if they clocked me.

  11. Is the Pope a catholic? Hokkaido (the northenmost island of Japan) gets much more snow than we do. The winter Olympics were held in Sapporo in 1972 and in 1998, they were held in Nagano, a city to the north of Tokyo on the main island of Honshu. See this link for typical weather stats for Sapporo. http://www.japaneselifestyle.com.au/travel/sapporo_weather.htm

    Mudflaps please!

Sounds like the same deal I got the previous week. Still got to get mine painted.
  15. You need something to take the edge off the sweetness of Buckfast!
  16. I understand Ming's points, but I am also very happy to take professional advice. I am sorry if my questions caused any disagreement.
  17. I gave up trying the NXT spray wax because it was diificult to buff up and kept leaving a residue. I reverted to Turtle Wax Extreme wax spray which I find very easy to use and gives good results. This weekend I tried P21s carnuba wax for the first time on top of the Turtle Wax and am very happy with the result. It is really good stuff, goes on easily and buffs up with no residue or marks. Sorry, but it's too dark to take pictures now and the Z is tucked up for the night in the garage.
  18. They definitely suit the GM.
  19. Many thanks for the advice, Tim and Phil. I had thought that EBC red stuff would be suitable - good to have that confirmed, and that they are available in the correct size for my car. Phil - I will be in touch soon to place an order.
  20. No argument with you on the safety front. I am looking for good advice on suitable replacement pads for a JDM '03 Z. Anything anyone can suggest will be considered.
