So what is the reaction on the AM/DB9 forums to your purchase? Guess you are missing the ZED really

Welcome to the forum This thread/pics might help you viewtopic.php?f=17&t=13358&hilit=bluetooth+cradle

Excellent job there Will - consider yourself a pro now Is there a need to use protection tape on the unpainted surfaces before using the buffer - having not attended the Meqs training session but seeing the use of blue tape the detailers use before buffing, was just wondering.......

Just to clarify. You have told us your ZED is an 06 but is a facelift (MY06) version with the 296bhp engine or a MY03 276bhp version? I mention that as the the MY03 models were still being sold off into 2007 That US TSB you are looking at I believe relates to the 296 engine and I understand from Mark at Abbey who has any number of ZED engines apart that the oil consumption issue is (normally) to do with the piston rings used on those engines. (The phrase "round pistons in oval bores" has been used to describe the problem). But if you have any doubt talk to Mark or one of the other engine experts on here. The States get their ZEDS sometime before we get the same models, hence why I have asked the question of you. All ZED engines have generally been labelled as 'bullet proof'. That said, if oil levels have not been regularly checked and the warning light has come on or the oil pressure guage is fluctuating more than normal then that may not be a good sign for engine longevity. The dipstick is the same on both engines and yes, can be difficult to read and whilst enthusiasts like us on here will persevere to get a reading, I do wonder how many owners who are not so keen to put their heads under the bonnet have checked, or had the oil level regularly

The oracle (ZMANALEX) says to use SAE 75W-85 API GL4+ - the nissan stuff for manual transmissions. He (or not doubt other traders) can supply it

Might want to give the calipers a clean-up and add some copper grease to the back of the pads, shims and caliper sides as you may have got a build up of muck. As others have said, and with most cars, the pads will stick onto the discs after washing/rain/lack of use but when you say a loud bang that sounds a bit more than just the pads sticking for those reasons alone

Nice write-up Vern and have to say I agree with most of what you have found. Mine was also an ex demo with less than 60 miles on the clock and unmarked. Sound - hence why I got the Stillen even before I could collect the car - the OEM zorst is the biggest let-down on the 370, unlike the 350 (UK version) which is a lot better. Fangs dealt with as per my sig below. They are certainly more noticable with the bright colours, but as you say the 370 does seem to attract more attention - compared to the Ebisu and Blade 350 before. I feel that the more aggressive frontal appearance with the wrapping does seem to get more slower drivers to move over than I found with the 350's Having come from 276 then a 296 engined ZEDs, there is more power - but really it is not much and as I have found on 350z-uk drives the (standard) 350's hang on well - mainly because the visibility is better than the 370 as you sit that much lower and picking the apexes is little more challenging and on tighter roads the overall width seems much greater with the few extra millimetres over the 350. The mid-range torque on A & B roads is much better than with my previous 350's - a definite punch in the back when giving it some beans My biggest bugbear is the tramlining and steering feel - mainly at low speeds. But I plan to get Abbey to get that checked/changed and if necessary change the 'Stones'. We all know the 370 'scrubs' when on full lock and especially when the tyres are cold but I am beginning to feel there must be an improvement in the tyre department as it just hasn't got that spot-on feel that makes the 350 such a driving pleasure. So for me the jury is out on the 050A's. The cabin has a much nicer overall feel although I do miss the storage areas of the 350. And the seats are not the same - the side bolsters certainly make it more of a snug fit for my 38" hips - to the point where I 'shuffle' more on long runs but it is not uncomfortable and a little more use will, I am sure, make it the perfect fit . But hey, for me the biggest + is the syncro-rev, which combined with the Stillen makes it feel something very special Like the 350, I feel it is great value for the money (and was just within my budget, unlike similar aged alternatives it is often compared with) and as I am fortunate in not having to use it as an everyday car it is not breaking the bank - so it is for me
-
Silly money - but anyone know about the tyres - good/bad etc

Thanks for the update Steve - sorry I missed the day. The car is really looking the part these days, with the wing, white wheels and the overall stance No doubt the GTR boys think they have the quickest machinery on the track but as has been said, few will know how to drive them and you ceratinly had a couple of plonkers there by the sounds of it. Now know what they mean by using ballast - but didn't realise you had to go and collect it yourself

I got one of these when they were first released about 3 years - best thing I ever did Our Sony TV has Freeview built in but rarely use it - mainly for the Dave channel. Saved £40 a month going into Sky's coffers, which to my mind is way over-priced unless you perhaps are big footie fan. Humax paid for itself in less than a year and were able to use the sky dish, so no extra cost there. We have the original 320gb hard drive and record quite a lot and yet I have have not seen in excess of 20% of hard disk useage. So, for example, if you want to record all the FI qualifying and races over the year - no problem

Wales weekend - accommodation sharing
Ebized replied to BladesGrant's topic in National Events & Shows
Moreton do have rooms with twin beds. If two 'singles' want to share a double room one will need to take on the booking role and register the room against their name and then sort out with their 'sharer' about payment. Remember a double room price is £54 whereas a single person occupying a room is £47, so for two singles sharing you each end up paying £27. Please ring them (01691776666) for availability, but dont delay . Any abuse of the arrangement will probably mean we all lose out for the future and if reported to us will mean those members will be banned from the forum - you have been warned. Thread tided. -
Wales weekend - accommodation sharing

Good idea - create this as sharing thread for the Wales weekend. Have therefore edited the thread heading and moved it. Might help to save a few quid for the 'singles' -
