  1. That link makes very interesting reading. Weekly oil checks for me from now on............
  2. The service had been done just before I bought it by Chorley Nissan, they seem to get pretty good reviews on here. Wish I'd checked that when I bought it too - looked at the in's and out's of everything else but missed that "Lives and Learns" eh?
  3. Ok, put some more in last night and left it to settle overnight. Checked this morning and it is now just under the "H" mark on the stick. It was only serviced 5000 miles ago, can't believe it burned that much oil (~3.5L I have put in). I'm praying that there isn't much damage. This has taught me to check every week - I will be doing this religiously from now on. Thanks for all the replies and support guys - top group
  4. Will check first thing in the morning - thanks for all the advice guys. I just hope that there isn't anything sinister waiting for me under the bonnet
  5. I am fearing the worst TBH. I do get oil showing on the little "Kink" at the bottom of the stick (I did before I put any additional oil in), and smears all the way up, but nothing which I can recognise as a "level". I am in Neath, near Swansea. I have never had issues maintaining a car before but this basic reading seems so difficult to do on this car
  6. Hi Guys. Looking for a little info on the oil level for the Z. I have an 06 UK Z. Since I have owned it I (4 months) it has been fine (apart from one glitch when there was a "fault" reported by the ECu but was found to be nothing). On Monday I went around a corner and the Oil pressure guage dropped to almost 0 and the oil warning light flashed on for a second. The engine light then started to blink. I was almost home so checked the oil level but I couldn't read it (crappy dip stick! ). I didn't drive it on Tuesday but on tick over the pressure was below 30 (cold). I put around 1L in on Tuesday night and checked the level again on Weds morning - I STILL can not read the damn stick! After 1L the pressure was still running below 60 at 60mph in 6th so I put in another 0.5L. I have just started the car and the pressure (cold) is 60 at tick over! If I have overfilled it (surely it can only be slightly!?) what sort of problems could this cause? I am having it serviced soon, but don't want to cause damage before.
  7. Thanks Ian. I did another ECU reset yesterday afternoon - code came back as P0138 Rear O2S, Bank 1 Maximum Voltage Monitoring I know the flashy-light thing isn't the best way of reading these but until next week I can't get to a "Proper" reader. The light has stayed off ever since - it only came on first when I put Shell V-Power in it, maybe this has had some sort of effect?
  8. Based in Neath, near Swansea. I think that there is a dealer in Swansea that I can take it to, or maybe Niss-tec (anyone in the area know them?). Need time off work to sort it........
  9. Hi all I've managed to get myself an 06 Z and BLOODY HELL is it great!? I love this car so much, and so does everyone else I see (even getting people coming into work to tell me they like my car - I feel like royalty! ) Any how, on topic: the engine warning light came on on Monday morning. It doesn't go off if I restart the car. I did an ECU reset yesterday and the flashing sequence was: 10 long, 10 short, 10 short, 10 short. I assume this means the code is P0000, therefore no fault found? The light went off and stayed off all the way home, this morning though it was back on again. Is it likely that this means I need a service soon (has done 43K, last serviced at 39K)? I'll check the code again later, but if it reads as above have I "Translated" it correctly? TIA for any help. Ian
  10. Cheers guys. Been looking at some of the cars for sale on here and they all look great! I'm really after a standard Zed, no mods at all. Seen a few on Pistonheads and 'Trader, will have to get out and look at them.
  11. Yey! Mondeo sold, now I can really start Zed hunting! Can't wait
  12. Thanks for the welcome guys Yep, I'm in South Wales too Ian (Neath). Don't see many Z's around these parts, which is one of the reasons I'm really interested in them - there rarity is a big plus point. Ian
  13. Hi Guys After much head scratching I've finally managed to register. I currently drive Ford Mondeo ST TDCi but have decided to go back to Jap - I have in the past owned 2 moded s14a 200sx's, boy have I missed the rear wheel drive "fun". The ST is up for sale at the moment but once it's gone I'm on the hunt - can't wait to go for a spin in one of these on my local roads (around Neath and the Brecon Beacons). Cheers Ian
