  1. Thank you! I'm just a novice really, have a long way to go before I'm at a level where I think I do justice to the team. FCPX is awesome. I had FCS2 before and, to be honest, it was a bit of a mammoth and I never really felt happy with it. I find FCPX to be MUCH easier to use and most importantly MUCH quicker to achieve better results than I could ever imagine in FCS2.
  2. Not YouTube, but here's my Vimeo channel where I post all the antics I get up to with the Team Falken UK drift team. Thanks to this forum and an introduction to Paul 'Polo' Cheshire on here for being the conduit to what has been an awesome year so far! http://www.teamfalken.tv With a bit of luck (and thanks to a good deal more skill) our very own Matt Carter will win the British Drift Championship this year. 1 round left to go and he holds a commanding (if not unassailable) lead! If you like drifting, don't forget to pop over to Facebook and show us your support by liking the team (http://www.facebook.com/teamfalken). We do run an 'almost 350z' in the form of Paul's incredible V35 Skyline
  3. Bit late to the party I know... But that sticker would have been a million times better if it was spelt right Maybe it should've said, "Considerably higher than the driver's IQ"
  4. No idea how accurate the speedo is... I have TomTom on my iPhone, next time I'll fire that up and see what the GPS speed is
  5. I have noticed that mine is a lot worse (range) if I have my iPhone in the same pocket.
  6. I took mine (2010 370z Black Edition) over to the Nurburgring with the Team Falken UK drift team, determined to VMAX it on the autobahn. Did manage it. Appears it is limited to 165MPH (indicated, not sure of true speed). It was still pulling before it hit the limiter but it didn't feel like there was a lot more left. I also had Team Falken's Alan Green in the car and a boot stuffed full of camera and video equipment
  7. 5DMKII, GoPro Hero HD x2, Panasonic TM900. Glidetrack SD. Gitzo Tripod and fluid head. Various lenses, EF24 f/1.4L, EF24-70 f/2.8L, EF85 f/1.2L, EF70-200 f/2.8 L IS, Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG. I had all those lenses with me but I didn't use the 85 or 70-200 in the video except in the stills shots where I also used a light stand with a 550EX flash and PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 for wireless TTL triggering. Flash was bare but I regret not putting a half cut of CTO on it to warm Kayleigh's skin slightly. I also have an EF28-300 f/3.5-5.6L IS, but I rarely use it. Useful if you want a single lens to do it all though. Plus a Sigma super wide tele that I even more rarely use! Video was edited in iMovie, even though I have Final Cut Studio. I'm waiting for Final Cut X which will give me proper AVCHD capability for editing TM900 stuff. Stills PPd in Aperture.
  8. Haha, Alan went in a bit hot that lap! Luky it was only scuffs and we carried on:) Hang on... were you part of the team? Did you have cams on board?
  9. Is anyone going to this? Does anyone know any other clubs going. Brands is 30mins from me so would like to go.
  10. I have a sequence of 3 shots before I decided I had better shift out of the way! This is the final shot about 1 - 2 seconds before impact!
  11. Yeah, agreed for this audience. I did take a lot of stuff of Kayleigh, but mainly because I'm doing a promo vid for her too, with even less car stuff - haha. Next time I'll get more car footage. In fact, I had such a great time I'm thinking Japfest 2 at Donny Or maybe something else sooner. Shame I didn't see you Chris, was that yours in the top corner of the stand? I think the only other quartz 40th (at least that I saw). Kayleigh did say you popped (or someone, assume it was you) popped over but I'd wandered off. I did have a media bib and went trackside for a short while for one of the drift runs. First lap and I get a face full of dirt as one of the cars smashed into the armco 4ft in front of me :o I legged it behind the standoff but I wasn't quick enough - lol.
  12. My very first attempt at a video... you can probably tell I'm more of a stills guy Very rough cut, still haven't got some of the footage off my Panny TM900 around the drivers door photoshoot scene. http://vimeo.com/23790603
  13. I can tell you Kayleigh looks pretty good in anything and nothing But then we all like different things i guess
  14. Hi Laura, you shouldn't have any models on your car without them asking first. If you're not there and someone takes a fancy then you can't really stop them, but they should never be touching/sprawling without owner's permission. I know whenever I'm shooting with models, that doesn't happen.
