i think they should introudce it, but anyone who holds an advanced drivers licence is exempt. also race driver licences would count as well. if you look on top gear archive there was an intervieew with the minister for transport and clarkson dismantled his argument abouy cameras. he explained that the death rate before cameras had been falling for the previous 3 years without government intervention. then with the intervention of cameras they stopped falling and actually went up a little. don't believe statistics, especially the governemnts they can be made to look or read how ever you want them to. they only target small sections and never revel a true answer. its a tax increase on motoring and thats all it is. as its far easier to tax the hell out of motorists than it is to do other things like improve imigration, penalise criminals, fix the health service etc. this government suck always have done and if you think when they were last voted in only 55% of the voting public actually voted and of that 55% only about 25% voted for labour. which means that this government was voted in by only about 17% of the british public. this government is not a true representation of what the public want. there should have been a general election when blair left (don't get me started on blair, the filthy bloody liar) ahhhhhhhhh politics and politicians just **** me off, you cant really trust any of them regardless of party, their only concern is number one, they are over paid, over important retards rant over

so i take it these were all got from halfrauds then or did you order stuff from paints4u.com also how many people have thought about doing artwork on there engine covers. i noticed this when i used to browse the fto club, have posted a link to some of theirs. some i like others not so much http://www.ftooc.org/phpbb/viewtopic.ph ... rs&start=0 there is one particular one i'm looking for but i can't find it

there are a couple of us in suffolk but not done a meet yet. there are some in essex as well who might come along. i suppose the easiest thing to do is set a date and see how many we can get. years ago i used to be a memeber of the PGAC they were very big, and had regional meets every month and had regional event organisers. we used to meet once amonth at chelmsford pizza hut all parked up gawped at cars for a bit and then had pizza. the MR2ROC also used to do monthly meets. if your up for a meet i'd probably come. i reckon they'd be small to start with and grow over time. could find a good pub somewhere central for all of us and have a meet and a pint and pub food.

just linking to another thread http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... gine+cover this was something that big phil did, but he for obvious reasons is no longer doing it. i really love this engine bay, and its kinda what i'm aiming for. but with red instead of orange. does anyone have any good reccomendations for a red paint. seen a red car and thought now thats a nice red.

i remember bing told by members on here that the 276 version had a better engine than the 300. apparently the 300 had a few problems. i may be wrong
-
Just resurecting an old thread. how many people have painted there engine covers, and what paints did they use. if it wasn't heat resistant paint how is it holding up now. i plan to do mine soon, was just interested in peoples thoughts.

Right i have a second hand Typhoon filter, which is very nice, but it just needs some TLC before i fit it. i am already going to hammerite the air box to seal up the rust and make it look new. but its the air intake pipe i need help with. originally i was going to spray it, but after much deliberation i have decided to keep it as it is. but to make it look new i will need to emove a few blemishes and scrtches that have appeared over time. does anyone know any good methods of polishing out marks on aluminium and making it look like new. i was just going to use brasso on it, would that be ok?

i've just found a picture of red bits on a 350z engine, admittedly its mounted in a 240z, but you get the idea. and looking at it i don't like it, and its not what i'm trying to achieve with my engine bay. i look at engine bays like the ones i've seen on the forum, but who's names elude me, and i think they look really impressive, you can tell alot of time effort and thought has gone into them. i'd like to have the same but i want to try and be different and not just copy someone else. but i'm just struggling to find the inspiration i need. i think i will use red, but it will be in very small doses, like the grounding kit, and maybe the odd nut bolt etc. think i might make the main colours black and silver. will have to see how it goes
-
Cant make out if your serious or not on that!? flames are not my thing, still can't work out what to do with the main pipe. am going to clean it tomorrow and see what it looks like. was stood in the paint section today, got some black for the main box. but couldn't make my mind up ob the main pipe. may keep it standard, don't know, so am going off to look at engine bay pics. stew can i see pics of your engine bay?
-
actually thats just what i was looking for. might well use them
-
i'd go with what stew says, i only work with tiddy tiny circuit boards, and i only teach it up to key stage 3 (year 9) not my favourite subject, hate it with a passion, don't mind doing my own stuff, but get board of the projects. much prefer my metal work and wood work
-
i hate crimps, much rather solder it, as it makes it a more permenant job, and less likely to pull out. the cable will snap before a solder gives way if done properly. but thats just my opinion. i teach electronics but i'm no expert, a sparky may have other opinions on it
-
i looked at them, but they're not the same, and n ow i'm going red i don't think they'll look right.

right now i've sorted out the colour, i was looking at putting decals back on, have to strip the old ones off to repaint, so i emailed k&n to see if they would send me some new typhoon ones, but apparently all the kits are made in the USA and they dont have any so i cant have some. well thats fine i thought, i still someone elses brand name on your stuff and see how you like that so what i need is some ideas for race tuners etc to stick on the new red induction pipe. as i don't know many outside of nismo, hks, blitz and spoon. lettering should preferably be white or silver. but that can be sorted in the manufacturing when i make them myself. so either pics ( i like pics) or a brand name and i'll go look it up would be helpful. thanks

i'm not blind to girls that are attractive, i'd be lying if i said other wise, but must admit, not really interested. my wife is more than enough to keep me interested at home. plus like i said, its like having sisters. i'm sure if you had a sister and she was a looker, you'd be aware of it, but you'd never sit there and think ummmmm!!! i'd bang that!!! (not applicable to west country, suffolk, and rural farmers where incest is legal ) same as being a teacher, thought never crosses my mind. can't speak for others in my profession, my school is pretty good, but i have worked at places and heard rumours. and there are cases of it happening. but it don't float my boat, and i wouldn't risk the 6 years of arse ache training i went through to get there
-
more than my jobs worth. must admit working in a school as ruined the whole school girl fantasy thing, all my mates think it must be cool to be surrounded by oads of girls in school uniforms, but to be honest, its like having 600 little sisters, all annoying, and you feel protective of them if someone does wrong by them. i prefer my women older and with more experience. thats why i married another teacher plus there the only people who know what its like to be a teacher
