  1. my mate dan (he's on here) had a VX220 turbo, but i only went for a passenger ride in it after it had had work done, from what i remember it had an exhaust i think the remap, possibly something about it being stage 3 tuned. he'll be able to tell you what it had. but must admit as a passenger it was rapid, acceleration down the country lanes was pants wettingly fast, under hard acceleration it was hard to stop my head slapping back into the seat. far more brutal than the zed. he also had uprated brakes, so this thing could stop on a 50 pence piece 90 - 0 was so good it was painful. i loved that car, and definatly think that the turbo was the best car out of the 2 options. just as good as the westfield i'd been in. but like was said before the heaters were all but non existant. i suppose to make them really good you have to fettle with them a little to make them what they should be
  2. depends on where it was tuned, or if you have any other extras, if something was taken off and no retune was done then it won't be as high. are you running it on 98 ron fuel, if your putting bog standard in you can easily drop 15 bhp off the performance. also remember that the bhp guide of 276 on a 2003 is a manufactures guide, its not guarenteed they will actually be that. also remember that different dynos read differently, you'll never get the same read out on 2 different dynos no 2 different days.
  3. the best invention to stop upsetting ladies hos got to be... the piddle pedal, just like on a kitchen bin, push the pedal, lid goes up, once finished and you walk away lid falls down ... genius
  4. i really like that big Z badge for the front of my car, also plan for a tommy badge at the rear
  5. I'm also aware of the amount of dust that floats around, most of which is dead skin. I work in schools so by now I must have inhaled enough to count as having eaten at least one of them
  6. Seems to be a small gathering starting to build in this neck of the woods. Maybe we shall have to start organizing a regular Meet. Or at least convoying to one of the south east ones.
  7. Ooooh, that drives me NUTS!!! Why is it women think we're in the wrong all the time. Have you not thought that maybe it's you lot putting the seat down that's wrong. I mean every time I come to use the loo, I rush in desperate, already unrolling the fire hose early in desperation only to find someone put the seat down. Drives me up the wall. Only joking. My wife would kill me. If I left the seat up. In my house I wear the trousers, but my wife tells me what pair to put on
  8. if that includes fitting and balancing then thats a good price i found these on delivery only Vredestein SS camskills mytyres tyretrader Tyremen REARS 245/45/18 £132.10 £149.40 £138.63 £136.00 FRONTS 225/45/18 £111.00 £133.40 £127.81 £110.00 £486.20 £565.60 £532.88 £492.00
  9. are you ipswiched based as well. if we all got together there would be 3 silvers in a pic. maybe we'll have to do that some time
  10. i have seen barcodes tatooed on people. i was tempted wit some genital art: with phase like: "insert this end first" "pull in emergency" tattooed down the side of my man hood
  11. am clean at the moment, always wanted one, but never found anythin g i liked. always said if i get something done it has to have meaning to me, or symbolise something great or major in my life. don't think buying a zed counts, so for now i'm going to stay clean. that and both my wife and my mum hate them, which makes things harder.
  12. i had a good search last night think camskills was the cheapest at around £480 for 4 tyres delivered. if you find them cheaper please let me know. tyremen offered to try and match any quotes, and they are avid vredestein fans. http://www.tyremen.co.uk/vredestein_tyres.html that beat mytyres, blackcirlces and at least 4 other people i could find
  13. check here http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Vrede ... ssanta.htm should find most tyres on here
  14. are they the standard ultracs or the ssantas. the ssantas are better than the ultrac stnadards (can't remember the full name) i plan to put the vredesteins on mine once the bridges run out. they are by far the best rated tire for the price. not much more than toyos but have better reviews. normally score 8 or 9 out of 10 compared to toyos and falkens which were getting 6 or 7's i think if you search on here i had some links to tyre reviews on them. evo even tested them and they came near the top. camskills is where i'm getting mine from, best price on the internet i found so far. lexx uses them i think as do some others, but never heard a bad word against them, apparently a favourite amoungst the corvette world in america
  15. Glad to see I'm not the only educator. I'm a secondary school teacher, teaching design and technology to kids aged 11-18 main subject is resistant materials. For those old school people that's wood work and metal work with a bit of technical drawing.
  16. pic of the satnav pop out cover and price would be good, if its what i'm looking for i'll take it off your hands
  17. between the 2 i'd go with the zed, the z4 is good, but there is more chassis role (expected on a convertible) that and they are more common and abit feminine. i'm a stocky bloke and found the z4 roadster was not my thing i wasn't metrosexual enough to carry it off, made me look a little bit gay
  18. almost identical list i had except swap the porsche for an S2000. and change the z3 roadster to the coupe and add an audi tt 350Z - looks, creature comforts, affordability, torque Boxster S - expensive parts, common, didn't like the interior, people hate you. S2 Elise 111s - awesome performance, but too stripped back for everyday use, lacks creature comforts VX220 Turbo - same as the lotus, but with the advantage of vauxhall service costs BMW Z3 M roadster - BMW build quality quick but handling a bit dodgy z3 m coupe - beuatiful (personal preference) just out of my price range S2000 - great engine, b ut has to be thrashed to get most of it, looks to girly TT - everybody has one, bit girly, lacks driver feel that was my feeling. you'll probably find that most people on here had a fairly simialr short list. for me the Zed offered the best of many areas, part of my deciding factor was my missus wouldn't get in the elise or the vx, said it wasn't a proper car it had no carpet and was made of plastic that and the zed had a more useable boot. i also liked the fact that i had torque something that was missing in my mr2 roadster which was great to drive but like the s2000 it has to be driven above 4500 rpm to get the most out of it. this is possibly the same with the lotus as it uses the same toyota engines as the mr2. at the end of the day it come sdown to personal preference and what you think is right for you.
  19. the orange peel, is due to the laquer, the paint finish underneath is probably fine, but what ever money laquered it moved to quickly and in low temperatures. a sand down polish and wax would possibly fix it
  20. i wasn't planning on following the leader by a few hundred miles, i plan to be right up his stern all the way if that happens or not will be another thing
  21. is it also worth building a sticky thread with the names of people who have OBDII readers and there location i.e. chelmsford (not home addresses) that way people who need a quick scan and don't have one could easily get something checked out. i'm planning on buying one so would be happy to put my name down when it arrives
  22. last time i watched the six nations it was with mates, and we played sambuca rugby. we each supported a side. everytime our team scored the others had to drink a shot of sambuca, and everytime the other team scored we had to drink. i thought that it being an england wales match i stood a good chance of not loosing. oh how wrong i was. me and my mate (both following england) lost miserably and had to drink the majority of the bottle ourselves. i think my other mates (welsh and scottish) only had 2 drinks. was a good laugh though probably next time will do it with beer
  23. i too love my rugby, and used to be a prop. caught the last 10 min of the england game and thought it was quite disapointing. +1 with the not liking gayball footy and pansie touch rugby.
  24. very nice. i forgot about tht thred, and hadn't put 2 and 2 together. look forward to seeing it in the flesh sometime
