if it makes people feel better i'm not bored have just spent this last hour and 40 teaching metal work to one of my year 10 groups. they have been making a metal tool makers hammer. have had the lathe up and running, loads of tools and later i'm going to do some furness work and some brazing. its all busy busy busy here in the tech department. and this afternoon i'm doing work with the D of E group, i think its cooking, and equipment. then home for around 5.30 - 6 and watch some TV.

this was my other alternative to the Zed, but like said before, was just a tad feminine. but i do fully respect its credentials, it is an awesome drivers car. a definite classic. if honda do another sports car, would love to see a new NSX, that too was an awesome drivers car. honda know how to make a good car, and bullet proof engines, especially considering that most of them rev to over 9000 rpm. wonder if the next one would have more tourqe

i've used aluminium adhesive sheets before. you can get them from halfrauds, can be cut to any shape and then stuck any where you want on the bumper. it will repflect the heat away from the bumper, and should offer some protection. costs about £10. if done right it should be nearly invisible.

Looking to buy a pressure washer....advice please
rtbiscuit replied to NismoDave's topic in Car Detailing
have been thinking the same as the first poster, have seen several deals for cheap pressure washers in halfrauds, is karcher worth using, especially if its a cheap one. will defo be looking for vario lance, and possibly the ability of having a liquids tank for doing things like the snow foaming. i think it would be a good buy as i made sure before winter hit i gave the car a real good wax and polish, i haven't cleaned her all winter as i want enough time to reaply a good wax and polish, i'm thinknig that although she is dirty the wax is acting as a good barrier. but when i clean her i don't want to go straight in with the wool mits cos she is so filthy it will scratch the paint. so the aim is to spray off, snow foam, rinse and then clean. i don't mind cleanig but i'd rather someone else did it. but i do it myself as i don't trust anyone else with the paint work. my last car used to come back with scratches all the time so i do my own now. but i'm a fine weather cleaner and only once a month. -
that knob was so secret i'd never seen it before. but not to my liking, i still prefer the nismo knob the normal titanium with shift pattern, not the titanium gt. just still can't get over the fact that i'll have to fork out nearly £100 for it gone are the good old days when a richbrook for £25 would fit

it was about 30 sec for me

depending on how well it enlarges i might use the first one.

Right i've had my Pioneer avic f500bt for ages, and used it a couple of times, great little piece of kit. but i have only just got round to down loading the update software etc, that allows me to play around with it. one of the functions allows you to design your own splash screen or import one in. for those not in the know a splash screen is normally the picture you see on a satnav, or computer that is displayed while it loads. most factory standard sat navs will for instance in a nissan car show the nissan logo when it turns on. what i wanted to know is, is there a good site to find ready made splash screens because i can't find one. or does anyone have a nissan or nismo based one ready made that they fancy sharing. i'm looking at making my own, but i just can't work out what i want it to look like. i think this would be a great place to build a small data base of 350z related splash screens that people can then download from here. i'm going to have a go, and then load it up on here if people want to use it.

i thought it was an apt name for a fat boat.

this is exactly why i'm trying to find an independent to do mine.

+1 So I have heard from a few reliable sources. Also heard that the nismo versions have a non-dumbing ECU. But then again, who can prove the Zeds stock ECU does cancel out mods. Maybe this was a lie started by ECU companies. when i reset an engine code for Throttle responce, we set up the car on the OBD II reader, with my JWT it showed throttle response at only 90%, the engine was not having to work as hard, because the JWT let more air in, it there just used less throttle. I wonder why people are saying the ECU adapts over a week then if it showed for you instantly? With the stock air filter did it show 100% Surely if it measures the air flow then it would try to restrict FI? (BTW I'm not arguing - just gathering info ) never tried with a stock air box, i think ekona is at some point going to try it out on his brothers car which is a stock coupe, as its ekona with the OBDII. mine could be because the throttle body may need replacing, as it was this item that threw up the CEL. but the light has not come back in nearly a month, so it could be that the ECU is compensating for the air filter, which had been on the car for a while, but we did do an ECU reset, but it still showed at 90%.

the biscuit barrel now floats

just to check: is it standard equipment now on both GT and non GT Zeds, or is it still just a GT standard item. becase if this car is a non GT then it may not come for a reason. just thought it was worth a check

if its brand spankers then nissan will know exactly what it is, and where it goes, and the number there going to need to order it, because they forgot to fit one by the sounds of it.

+1 i find the light a distraction, as i can always see it in the corner of my eye. i need to sit down some time and set the limit light higher so it doesn't come on when i'm hooning. if you check out the DIY HUD thread i think they were able to splice into the speed cable from under the centre console behind the white box. i wouldn't be suprised if you could get access to the rev wire from there.

theoretically its not really a body kit. a body kit suggests that you are adding to the original bodywork, like adding an extension to lower the look of the car. the nismo kit is all replacement parts, the only add-on bit is the rear spats. both the front and side skirts, you remove the original parts and put new ones on. i'm not sure it really classes as a body kit, yes it enhances the look of the car, but unless you were a 350z fan and you saw a Z once in a blue moon, a repair company wouldn't spot the difference. and for replacement parts they would just be ordering nismo parts instead of nissan parts. i'm not saying don't declare them to the insurance company, just think about how you explain it to them.

i'd been looking on the o2 website but could never find any HTC products. will have to have another browse , although i feel its going to be the iphone.

just got a reply from hangar 111 Hi Richard, Although we could service your car and do basic mods, we haven't really got the breadth of knowledge to look after it. Steve, who used to be one half of LPS is back in the area and is now working at Broadlands garage, off Foxhall Rd. I'm sure he would be happy to look after your car.

can't get the omnia on O2 network, also not going to pay throught the nose for an iphone, think its going to cost me about £90. with a £30 a month network charge. not bad concidering the phone on its own costs nearly £400. as for kids and there mobiles, my workshop is a mobile free zone, if i find any kids with mobiles on, i put them through the bandsaw. or confiscate them for at least a week. depends on what mood i'm in. its great being a teacher.

my current phone is a samsung, and its one of the reasons i wouldn't have another one. phone was good to start with, but because i haven't turned my phone off in over 12 months the battery is shocking now, it can't get signal like it used to. just fancy something thats not another samsung, their build quality just isn't as good as others. as for mobiles being the life blood of the masses. only use about 80 minutes a month on my phone and only send about 20 txts. i have it more for emergencies and general contact, but i like my gadgets, and miss my PDA, thought it would be better to combine my phone with a PDA, and because apple software is meant to be more reliable than windows i think it would be better. when i went on my honeymoon i turned it off for the whole 2 weeks and didn't miss it once.

should be easy, i never pay for work i can do myself. gargae would charge you £50 to fit it, just think what you could spend that money on.
