i'm away tomorrow on a course, will be back late thursday. or around from 4pm friday onwards and over the weekend. more than welcome to pop round, be good to catch up. i've got to wash the car at the weekend if the weathr is good as she is proper filthy, but now i have a little porject, that might have to wait

cheers bullet, that would be great. will give the filter a good wash at the weekend, so a recharge would be perfect. will wait till the wife has gone shopping on saturday before i defile the kitchen sink also posted with the hammerite pic another one, but this time of candy red metallic. that would be my other option. as for painting other things, not sure at the moment, i do have plans in my head for the engine bay. will be fitting my red grounding kit as well this weekend. at some point i want to get the carbon covers for the engine, battety cover and the other one have plans for the engine cover, but not sure what yet, still want to retain the carbon but there might be a splash of colour. also i have a msssive workshop at work and access to laser cutters and vinyl cutters and cad packages, so i can make what i like. may even do abit of my own carbon fibre work, in the engine bay

should have mate was a nice trip. actually took it real steady, am quite tired at the moment, so only pootled up at about 65-70 all the way, and was shocked to find my mpg at 33 mpg. not saying this is my usual style, but very happy with the result (call me grandad) -
Right have just picked up the K&N typhoon induction kit, and its in good nick, but the metal work needs a clean and a spruce up. which got me thinking if i'm tidying it up, why not respray it, and change the colour at the same time. the main box section is easy, it'll get a wash, wire brush wet and dry and a coat of smooth black hammerite for protection and finish and no one is really going to see it. but its the intake tube i need a little help with, how ever i do it its going to be red, but its the method i use i need a little help on. option a. hammerite smooth red, will leave it with a shiney red dip coat finish, its easy to apply, needs very little prep work, is heat proof to pretty high temps and will be quick to do. option b. metallic red paint with a laquer finish to seal it. will be all reflective and shiney so you can see your face in it, with tiny metal flecks like a car body work, but prep time is longer, need to do same work as above, but also prime it before hand, paint which is easy, but laquering with out runs is a bitch of a job, especially on something round like a tube as you have to rotate it with out touching it. (will be susspended fro ma beam on a wire) and because it will be hanging vertical runs a high risk of runs. it will get all new decals (haven't decided what) at the end of the day its in the engine bay, and no one will really see it. what are peoples thoughts, or does anyone have any other suggestions. ... also while i'm at it, the carbon fibre top has a tiny scuff mark on it (not a problem) but does anyone know of a way to either polish it out, or add some more laquer to hide it (don't know on this as never worked with CF before) answer on a postcard

it was great catching up with you martin, car looks fantastic, was nice to chat to someone face to face. and yes i remembered the snickers. the kit looks excellent and i'm going to give it a lick of paint to make it look all new. hope your back feels better soon. and thanks again -
my jaunt through the islands is over, am hoping it will pay dividends in the long term, as i'm getting wind no one else is and am able to go across instead of straight down like everyone else

looks like we're all going to bm's house for a car cleaning session

But your gonna need a service, tax and and probably tyres every year true but its the big service

not yet, was just looking at the post about looking at cars and that blue one came up. (had'nt mentioned on the ad that it had a full nismo kit. must have been an after add, because it still had rays alloys and not the nismo ones) anyway i keep seeing them and thought i do like that. so i'll build them up slowly, only really just put plan into action about 10 min ago. was hoping for people who had reversed into things, pulled into kurbs, turned to quickly in multi stories. and who are perfectionists, and don't like to own broken bits even when repaired, and i could buy them off them cheap. will probably check scrappies soon or buy stuff as it comes up. am in no real rush as i can't really afford to at the mo, and i need a P3 this year as well as tax, and probnalby tires. not a cheap year this year. but i have gone for a promotion, and if i get it it might cover some new bits.

am looking to slowly build up a nismo body kit for my car, am looking for: Nismo front bumper V1 or V2 Nismo side skirts V1 or V2 rear spats V1 or V2 spoiler V1 or V2 to be honest the bumper and side skirts are the only ones most likely to be crash damaged. i can't afford a new set, so i am looking to buy up old damaged ones and repair them myself. may even spray them myself as well. did this with my last car. got the full TRD kit for my car for about £400 repaired and sprayed it all myself. got all the parts from about 5 different members should have cost 3 times that if i had bought new and got someone else to spray it. needs to be repairable, don't want it if its in a billionty pieces, but splits, cracks and chips are fine. i know this is a long shot but here goes anyway

i'm going for the worlds dirtiest Zed award at the moment, haven't had time to clean her, was meant to do it this weekend, but fell to one of those short term colds. felt crap all weekend. will have to do my long drives this week in a filthy car. suppose it makes sense, but all the dirt from ipswich to brum on whats already there. and clean it all off at the weekened. thank good for a thick coat of wax and polish already on

does look like your parked across 2 spaces
-
shame he was waiting for a tow truck. i would have hired a petrol powered angle grinder for £60 and chopped the bloody thing off.
-
i think he was just smart, he obviously knows his sport, looks like an autosports photographer. had picked his position very wisely, behind a very large wall. plus i don't think he was expecting it to crash, i bet he thought thats a bit close i'll move out the way, and then it swiped the wall. by the time it had happened it was over, and he then took snaps. i myself would have ducked and covered

*edited* might want to rephrase that, i'm all for free speech, but ii think some may take the wrong way i have never been clamped, but know how fuming i was when done for speeding on a clear dual carriageway if your mate has visitors parking permits you might be able to despute it saying you were collecting the permit to put on the car?
-
must admit i do like white cars. it is something special on a sports car. not like the old white vans etc, the slightly creamier ones look good. you don't want brillant white, more a satin or gloss. think dulux dog
-
this is why i always park miles away from everyone in carparks. my wife hates the fact that i make her walk loads, but i'm paranoid someone is going to be mean to her. i have already picked up a ding where some scoat of a child has flung it open to get out and hit my rear wheel arch.
-
if you have no luck mine will be up for grabs in a week or 2 am picking up my k&n typhoon on tuesday ,should hopefully have it fitted next weekened, so would be able to ship next week. its only about 2 months old, done no more than 1500 miles if your interested pm me was looking for £70

with it being lowered i think the bumper will scrape all the way up the ramp. plus they very scary to drive up, iv done it before and the fear of going over is always in your head, and you have to rely on your mate to tell you when to stop. if you don't use enough revs and power you don't go up, to many and you go over. alternative method (although not tried) stick a board under your jacking point, then the trolly jack under the board. you jack the board at an angle enough to raise the car, you should then be able to slip a second jack under the rear lift point to raise the car, remove the board and replace jack properly at the front and then jack properly. just reverse the procedure to take out. a bit long winded but should give you the height you need. that or take it to a garage or find a friend with a car pit or proper lifters

martin was just wondering, how many miles has this kit done on the car, and if its a fair few is it worth giving the filter a good clean and re oil it. and if so are there any good instructions for doing this. i know when i had an apexi filter i could run it under the tap in the sink, but don't know k and n filters that well.
