when i get home i'll set up a trade section, once i've had a think about it
-
i can easily do lettering, will have to sit down and work out a pricing for it. as i never contemplated doing this like a trader. if you give me size of the lettering i.e. if you were to draw a box round each word. as it gives me an idea on height. and have a flick through MS word find a lettering style you like and let me know. and what colour you want. what i will probably do is go and buy my own vinyl roll. but use the school equipment.

if i'd known you were at felixstowe i would have come visit, i only live up the road

sounds good

i read somewhere it only needs to be done every 30,000 miles?

i think i might be fitting the typhoon kit tuesday night, depending on what time i get in. if you wanted to pop in your more than welcome. will probably fit it, and then remove and clean the filter later. how long do you reckon it would take to dry after soaking it in water, before i could re oil and re fit? just trying to work out how long i would need to not drive for to do the clean? actually, i might clean the filter tomorrow night. ready for oiling and re fitting the following night, thats if your able to pop round

could easily do something like this in white with the middle section removed, and the wings if you like either side of the 3.5 V6 section. this isn''t wha ti have planned for mine, as i haven't worked that out, but more an example of the kind of images i can do
-
if your interested stew in adding any kind of image, logo, artwork etc to the engine cover i have a cunning plan for my own, but would be happy to share it with you. as i'm a technology teacher i have access to a whole load of great toys one of them is a vinyl cutter and CAd packages. if you have a picture/ shape tatto if you like and can give me a computer image of it i can cut it on the vinyl cutter. its easiest if its one colour ,but i can build up layers and do several. i have red, green, blue, yellow, silver and white at my disposal let me know if your interested and we might be able to work somehing out.

i use the nxt car wash and there deep crystal polish and deep crystal carnuba wax, its the last 2 steps of their 3 step product, but i can't be arsed with step 1 which is the paint cleaner, i'll clay the car if its that bad. i also have some of there nxt speed detailer for on the rn jobs, i'd probably wash the car if i was going to a show and take the speed detailer to touch up at the other end. i do have their hot rims all wheel cleaner but don't use it on this car as it is a little acidic and don't want to ruin the rays as they are a little delicate. but i have just tried out there Endurance High Gloss Tyre Protection Gel, which i have been very impressed with i think i even have their alloy wheel cleaning brush. gee's i nearly have their whole range.

never used it, i usually just polish and wax

that's good news mate. i'll have to get myself sorted on it as well. those scratches however small really annoy me. how does the meguairs stuff compair with the autoglym super resin stuff? would that be enough, and what wax do you use? cheers mate never tried autoglym stuff, i here its very good, i'm just a bit of a meguairs junkie. if i have any cleaning products its theirs, but thats personal preference. i think they are what you refer to as a good midrange product, there better than alot of stuff, but there is better stuff out there (i think) i'm not majorly into detailing but their stuff suits me right down to the ground. i usually wash the car in there nxt shampoo, as it cleans the crap off, but leaves the previous wax on. i then use their claybar kit if it needs it (Probably once every 6 months) then use there polish and then carnuba wax. its all part of there 3 stage clean. i also use there tyre gel as well, which works well on the tyre walls. the scratch x would be used i think before the claybar and polish. i like there stuff it makes my car feel as smooth as glass, and a very good shine. but i do end up spending about 5 hours cleaning the car. (good exercise) some others more proffesssional detailers would probably give you good feed back especially as they have tried a variety of products and could tell you whats best

i had a long scratch along my rear wheel arch, found it at the weekend when cleaning, i used meguairs polish and then wax. and its now nion invisible. i might get some scratch x for next time to finish the job off. because the paint is water based it is quite soft and fairly easy to remould if you like and hide scratches if you use the right products

some of the locals near where my parents used to live were terrible. and the parents at mine some of them stop in really stupid places. there is a dropping off point, but some parents instead of pulling in to it so others can go on into the carpark like to stop in the exit area, and so everyone has to wait till they shift. and when your running late, it really p1$$es you off

totally agree, with having them in front of schools etc. i work at one and there was a kid hit by a car last month. sixth former driving to fast came off a blind corner and hit him on a zebra crossing. more down to lack of experience and imaturity on the drivers behalf, the kid was ok, but it could have been worse. i also think there should be double yellow lines, a traffic worden and clampers outside schools as well especially the primary schools. all those bloody parents with huge chelsea tractors picking up one child. if i had my way there be a para regiment with rocket launchers perched on school roofs picking off parents who can't park, pick stupid places to stop, clog up the road.

camskills are probably the cheapest i know of, the tyremen are quite good, and my tyres are a little more expensive
-
looks good stew, will defo be taking ideas from that, have already bought the red paint, but i shall only be doing the engine cover, what i will need to do is work out how i'm going to mask off the 3.5 V6 bit. as i'm determined to keep it.

this is what i got, looks like a good set, and they'll find a place in my workshop no problem at all. http://www.screwfix.com/prods/17465/Han ... et-Bit-Set
-
my thoughts are the tyres, i wouldn't run different brands on different axles. other thought is what are your tyre pressures like, if your running low or over inflated that might cause them to kick out?
-
screw fix are pretty good. don't know if they do that though. other option is google that tool and see what shops come up
-
the amount of tools i'm slowly collecting i'll have to set up a fitting workshop for all those who cant or don;t want to fit there own stuff
-
lol i refer to my students as padawans. if i'm a young jedi does that make you yoda or obiwan kanobi i think yoda
-
the autosol was really good at polishing up the main body, have removed all the decals, but there were some really deep scratches that just wouldn't come out. i'm guessing the only way would be to go and wet and dry it and then re polish, but i can't be arsed, so its going in as is. will post up pics later when its fitted
-
have found some correct fittings from screw fix, found a star socket set with holes in the middle, cost me £20 but i suppose it will mena i have them for good and other jobs in the future. will have to have a play next weekend. really frustrating as i wanted to fit it now. especially as i have repainted the box and polished the intake.

Was about to fit my typhoon system, which shouldn't be a major problem, but as i was assessing the job i came across a minor problem. as part of the fitting porcess you have to remove the MAF sensor but it seems to be held in place with star fittings. and none of my star drives fit because it seems to have a sticky up bit in the middle. its as if they are tamper proof maf sensor fittings. is there a speciaql tool for removing them i tried a set of adjustable grips like someone else ahd mentioned else where, but i couldn't seem to get on to the small screw. how have others removed there maf sensor? if someone has the right tool could you tell me what it is and where to get it from or laon it to me for the weekend. anyway it pi**ed it down and was cold so i gave up and went inside, only to find the wife has 101 jobs for me to do inside the rain has stopped but don't feel i have enough time to fit it, will have to wait till next weekend
