    Red Brembos

the stuff from halfrauds is quite good, can't remember ther name, i used it before on a previous car. cost about £20 takes about 2 hours to do, 3 hours if your slow and careful. and i can supply you with decals that say what ever you like.

i think paul at dream customs might be also doing something similar soon as well. offering custom colours and decals etc. but i might have him mixed up with someone else so you'll have to see if he posts, or who ever it was will do soon.
  5. i've not seen behind the bumper, so wasn't sure how they mounted up. thought they were mounted on the sub frame and pocked through. anyone got a pic of behind the bumper or the brackets that were made up for them. i should be able to do it myself and fiberglass and bond them in place.
  6. am going for a nice black mesh, might find one with a finer guaze, not much smaller just a little if that makes sense. as for reflectors, what ever i make/buy i plan to just fiberglass it in place as i am keeping the original bumper to refit when i eventually sell up. found these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/R8-Style-LED-Side ... 240%3A1318 wondered if i could cut off the excess lights. will also speak to paul about making a set for me.
  7. just found the LED lights for the front http://www.delsamotorsports.com/shop/pr ... cts_id=182 looking at them there doesn't seem to be much to them. how difficult do you think it would be to make something like this. it 's just a load of super bright LED's soldered in parallel with a positive and negative lead off them. have seen a set of super brights already soldered together, but its to long at 24 cm, was wondering if i could cut the ones off i don't want and mount them up into my own casing.
  8. thanks for the links, i quite like them, just trying to work out if me liking them makes me a ricer also forgot to mention above, i'm trying to work out what to do with the number plate at the front. mine is a UK spec plate, but the fixings are for JDM plates. i plan to remove the fixings, but the question is how and where should i put the plate. the number plate ruins the look of the front of the car, but legally i need one on. so how small can i make it, and how low can i fit it
  9. i remember someone telling me that there was already a kit available but i can't seem to find it, think it was menat to be about £20. but if paul can do something similar then i'm up for that.
  10. I have just got hold of a full Nismo kit from Danny its a full glass fibre kit, but seems very good quality i think its made by LC Town; has anyone heard of them before? i will be repairing the damage to it which is very minor and it will get resprayed to match my car. but there are other things i had in mind but i needed peoples help. firstly i am going to remove the burger and then fill and sand flush the indent to give a smooth line finish to the kit. secondly i will cut out the holes for the washer jets. next few stages are where i'm not so sure at the moment it has some mesh fitted in the middle its only basic diamond mesh painted black and quite thin. does anyone have some recommendations on what i could put in, i was planning on possibly using proper woven mesh lie on aston martins and jags, but am not sure the silver car with then a silver mouth will look to much. so would it be better to put new black mesh back in. also currently where the side reflectors are there is just mesh, i have several ideas, but i'm not sure and i need help finding a few items. first idea i remember 3fiddyz had some audi style led's in there and i quite liked them, but i can't seem to find a kit, prices or who sells them. Second idea Can you get proper fog lights to fit in the slits at the side, if so what do they look like and where can iget them from price etc. Third idea Find new clear reflectors and fit in place Fourth idea just re mesh them to match the grill i quite like idea number 1 and 2 and as i would have the bumper off thought it would be a prime time to fit it. so what do you lot think
  11. to the side of the front grille, in two parts, but it was a clean break, no missing pieces etc. i think it will be re bonded and then carbon fibred behind to garentee the strength. then filled and sanded any imperfections. i was going to do it my self, but felt that people would be more confident with the buy if it was done by professionals.
  12. i will have a Greddy Gracer Front lip for sale shortly. am posting this to see if anyone is interested. it was damaged but i am in the process of having it fixed by AFM Racing (who are responsible for the new BTCC bmw diesel race car) if your not sure what it looks like here are 2 links for envy and greedy themselves http://www.greddy.com/products/display/ ... ategory=61 (have to click on 350z front lip) http://www.z-store.co.uk/index.cfm?fuse ... entCat=239 its a really nice front lip, brand new never been fitted perfectly smooth urethane lip. would be ready for priming and painting. will put up pics once its been repaired, but it should be good as new. they are £275 direct from Greddy and about £260 from Envy am open to sensible offers please pm me.
  13. i am an engineer, and a teacher, and i would even attempt this. only have to be out by 100th of a mm and you'll get wheel judder. spacers are meant to be a last resort to a problem so if you want them i'd get proper mech cad machined ones, becaus at least f your wheel falls off you have someone to sue.
  14. i had no problems fitting the box. but some of the bolts you have to get to are an absolute bitch. the one that held the plate over the original air intake hole and sat behind the bumper, and you could only access it through the gap where the bonnet release was and there as only enough room to twist a fly's nut let alone a ratchet spanner. apart from that it was a doddle.
  15. nismo kit should be in my garage by tomorrow
  16. cheers guys i'll have a browse and let you know how i get on. my main problem has been, when i go to b&q or halfrauds i have the wife with me and she hates this kind of shop so i hav e limited time to browse before i get dragged out.
  17. pm sent regarding the strut brace and radiator cap. got to stop coming on this forum, its costing me a fortune
  18. no real point in looking at imports, the price of uk cars has dropped, and the value of the yen gone up while the sterling has gone down. which means that its more expensive to import now and the difference in price makes it a no brainer and yu get a uk car. as for the budget, you might struggle to find one under £10k they are there but it is right at the bottom of the range. so be more aware of cat C, D and other crash damage or poor maintance.
  19. Have fitted the Typhoon and its a great bit of kit, but there is slight fitment issue between the carbon cover and the metal air box. the carbon cover is rattling on top of the air box due to the design there isn't enough fixing points to hold it in place. what i was looking for was some kind of 'U' shaped rubber trim i can fit over the rim of the air box to cusion the lid and stop it rattling. i can't hear it in the car, but it is noticable outside of the car. has anyone else ahd this, how have you guys fixed it.
  20. if you want help fitting let me know
  21. are we gaining something like a garage section where you have your own garage tab, and it shows your mods pics etc. was on MR2 ROC and a couple of other sites i've used that were on php
  22. its a good car, with nice amounts of torque. gets up to speed quicker than you think, and as said above its deceptive, cruises nicely. rmember its a GT, and its a good handling car. and rear wheel drive, i've had a 306 gti6, mr2 roadster, CTR. and must admit the Zed is by far the best car. it hugs the corners well and feels like it has more grip to give even when pushing. best ting is to try it. but get a good route, do some main roads dual cariage way and some country lanes. give you a proper taste for the car.
  23. i payed cash outright for mine, my parents didn't pay for it, i have my own home, and mortgage. and i've only been teaching for 3 years. so pay is minimal. but then i sold my disertation from my degree, which has helped pay for most things. i think most of my colleagues probably think i'm a flash barsteward, but i worked hard and earned my money, and spent it on what i like
  24. i had one, just got rid of it, made bugger alll difference. so many people have 3 points that insurance companies almost ignore the first 3. think it add £10 onto my insurance for the year
