  1. more pictures please, i might be interested
  2. Ok people got this back on friday from the body shop and they have done an excellent job, they said the fix is now stronger than the original bumper and there should be no issues with breaking. they did a 2 part plastic weld to join the 2 parts and then bonded and sealed the rear. the unit has retained its flexibility as i have been able to twist and bend it with easy. have put it on my car to give people an idea of looks, but the painted version would be better guide above. the marks you see on it are remants of parcel tape and glue which both come off really easy. you can see the repair and where its be sanded down. the bumper will need the usual sand and prep doing to it to smooth it out ready for painting, which any good bodyshop should do. this item is as good as new, and if any one wants piece of mind i will make sure the reciept for the repair from the bodyshop goes with it. but that should be an issue as it is an extremely good shop with an excellent reputation.
  3. Cheers m8! any decals that will sit flush on the cover? Z badges etc? Jerry if he doesn't i can supply replacement V6 3.5 decals or if you want something individual making up let me know.
  4. but i might bring mine just for fun, only haven't done much to mine, i feel a little under dressed car wise, until i get some of my bigger mods on.
  5. Sure thing, but why you not taking yours? I have to warn you in advance tho, I'll prolly leave off at about 5pm, to hopefully avoid most commuter traffic on the M25. Oh and bring earplugs, in case the K1 makes too much noise on a long drive, hehe. it was more to get an idea of what the k1 is like to live with it keeps tempting me its the price dammit, just a friggin steal
  6. welcome to suffolk mate, just noticed this thread as well, as bullet said, i have found a good bodyshop in ipswich, they are doing some stuff for me at the moment and i think they are very good. well priced and good work. as for meets, bullet and i get together occasionally...well twice...and it was at my house... and we didn't go anywhere but there are also members up in cambridge, so we might have to get together sometime. i konw a few of us are hoping to go down to brands hatch this month if the big meet down there is still on. we're guessing around the 9th
  7. mihgt be able to make this too am on easter break as of friday if you have a psare seat bullet, could i passenger down with you
  8. i think air brushing is a bit like tatooing, only go for something you really like cos wants its done its expensive to remove. personally i'd keep the air brushing to small parts, i'd get the rear strut cover done the engine cover, the brake fluid and battery covers, and have them as little pieces of art. and because its such small sections you should be able to go quite wild with what goes on there.
  9. "i'm sorry michael but that jump is impossible and if i ever find the person who fitted the zoomy red lights in my mouth i'm gunna kill them!!!!" eek i can't believe someone would do that, leave it in the 80's
  10. Run that past me again i thought a reflash on an ecu was wiping the old map and installing a new one. my guess was that if a reflash allowed your mods to be taken into account then it must have an affect on the air and fuel ratios. currently if you add a breathing mod the ecu reduces the amount of throttle needed (does it not also change the air fule mix) maybe i just answered my own question. the reflash must do something to stop the throttle being reduced? does it?
  11. if your repainting the engine cover, if you sand off the lettering so its flush i can supply you with new decals to replace them so you don't have to try and mask them off. ican do them in silver, or in chrome or brushed aluminium i'm doing mine in red. but the white works well not seen it done before
  12. new twist to the story, i still haven't got round to checking all the connections but found out on a drive home the other afternoon that the problem only arises once i have turned my light s on fully. had been driving around all day no probs, then starts to get dark lights on and with in 1 minute the horn is going off over bumps. turn lights off and it stops. sounds electrical to me, so hopefully with 2 weeks off as of next week i shall get some jobs done
  13. Mine was registered 1st August 2007 and has done 12,500 miles. Currently fitted with RE040s all round with 34psi. Have tried reducing to 32psi all round but not noticed much difference. It is only lively when the road is bumpy, quite common in Gloucestershire, but on smooth roads it is fine, so I assumed that alignment was therefore OK. Thanks for help from you all. Mike i wouldn't reduce, i'd pump them up, should be 35 psi all round. does help. ican tell when mine are dropping by just 1 or 2 psi as it handles differently. also if there is no heat in the tyres then the stones are slippery. another tyre worth looking at is the vredestein ssantas, very good UHP tyre
  14. thats fine, my bank manager will thankyou jerry will be polishing my own in the not to distant future, will take it into work and stick it on thr polishing wheel
  15. ok i'll take it off your hands damn my bank manager isn't going to like me
  16. Full range of every conceivable gear knob you could ever wish for due in this week. Should be here by Wednesday if you would like to come and have a drool, please feel free. No purchase necessary. be interested to see what you have on offer
  17. i plan to fit mine where the bumper reflectors are, am hoping dream customs will be able to help me build my modified version of what they already offer.
  18. i'm guessing he'd have to be cheaper than £650 as thats the cost of the cheapest piggy back ECU i've come across so far. but thats before tuning time on a rolling road. a reflash should be a prepared map which requires no tuning and allows the car to learn from its mods. i'm guessing it would have to lock the air fuel ratios to a point to stop the cancelling out. so that it would make use of the mods. most peoples reasons that i've heard on the forum so far is the cost of the equipment and software thats initially needed to do it. The yanks have been doing it for ages. so it must be possible and there can't be that much difference between uk and US ECUs
  19. photobucket will help with the pic uploading. as for thirst i don't think she's that bad. on long drives can average 32 mpg. round town i normally get 22 mpg, day to day 24 mpg and hooning 16 mpg.
  20. yep just round the corner from tesco's. they are going to help me with the nismo kit
  21. This has been an awesome find, i was looking for a bodyshop to spray up my nismo body kit and i popped into ipsiwich accident and repair. mentioned body kit and the bloke in reception said "you'll need to speak to the blokes in the office next door; go on through". i happended to walk into the offices of team AFM racing who happen to be a BTCC team who built and anre racing one of the first diesel touring cars in this years british touring car championship. had a really good chat with them there a great bunch, was chatting with there driver and head mechanic, and they really know there stuff. not only are they linked to ipswich accident and repair (voted best body shop in 2008) but they also offer a whole load of other services. They will do pretty much anything you want. including: Custom body kit fabrication body repairs spray painting full race car setup servicing and mot fit any mods and body kits order any performance parts you want have a rollong road to tune cars will fit and tune turbos and super chargers. you name it they'll do it. they happen to be the guys who are fixing the greddy front lip i have, when iwas speaking to them i explained i didn't know they existed tried google searches and everything to find a specialist garage to work on my car. they kind laughed and explained that there rubbish at advertising properly. but they did give me there web address. http://www.teamafmracing.com its not the easiest website to access it won't load on my home computer, and i can only access it through an old version of explorer, won;t seem to load on firefox or safari or opera, so i might need to update my software, but they are worth checking out. i'm not trying to take business away from people like dixcel or CS, but they may offer some services closer to home for people in the suffolk area.
  22. would go nicely with the Greddy front lip i have, then someone only needs to source some side skirts and they have a full kit
  23. to be honest i have faith in the abilites of the mods, if they've done something its in the benefits of the forum and the people involved. if we're meant to know i'm sure we'll be told in due time. ... i too am a nosey person ... spill the beans
