  1. Hi everyone, As the title states, there will be no Jap meet at Brands Hatch anymore. Dan had spoke with Brands the day after the meet and everything was cool- everyone had a good night, people where well behaved in the venue and it was a success but since then they (Brands) have received complaints about the way in which cars arrived & left the venue and how people were driving on the local roads, so they are not prepared to let us use the venue anymore. So basically, thanks to a few people not thinking, there is no more meet at brands, no more chances of cheap track time and no where for people to meet up that is a ‘legal’ meet (which is something a lot of people liked about the brands meet) Personally both Dan & myself are pretty hacked of about it all- Dan didn’t spend all that time talking to brands and I didn’t spend hours on all the different forums letting people know about the meet only for a select few to f**k it up for us and everyone who enjoyed the meet. On the flip side we can understand that people would not be able to resist driving spiritedly to and from the venue but that doesn’t make it any better. We are currently trying to find an alternative venue but tbh its pretty tough going- the only place that comes close want a lot more money so it’s a case of looking around more- if anyone has any suggestions please feel free to get in touch. Pete
  2. Hi pete! Seeing as the GTO forum is down I thought id pop on here and see if you posted pics up of the new car! If you cant get a Veilside have a look at Amuse- they do some lovely kits imo. I hope Veilside are making stuff again though, someone has just reversed into dads supra and done his C2 nose in! I'll have a ask around for you though, you know ive got the contacts! Pete
  3. Thanks for the nice comments guys What a great night it turned out to be! Sorry I didnt get to chat with some of you like last time but I had my hands full! We want you to know who you are talking to at the meet (put a face to the name!)- I was the one who was in the Hi-Vis parking you all up and Dan was the one on the gate, we are both very pleased with the event- the turn out, behavior of everyone and atmosphere was spot on and just what we had hoped for, so thanks guys. I have no idea what we will do next month, another 30 cars or so and we would have been out of space! Some of you may have seen it last night but we almost asked 3-4 cars to leave for driving stupid along the access road and this is something we will keep up- you wont ever have to worry about people with BOV's showing us they have an engine because that is not what this meet is about but if you ever feel that something needs our attention just let either one of us know. Each month we will be parking a different club outside the kentagon because it is easier to do that rather then section off bits for different clubs, I'm going to chat with Dan and see if I can get you guys up there for the next meet or the one after. If we come up with any ideas for the next one I will post up, also if you guys have any suggestions then drop me a p.m. Now someone get some pics up- I was too busy to get round to having a proper look! Pete
  4. Hi everyone! Following the Huge success/failure of the first meet we thought we would have another crack at it and this time actually let people into Brands! I'm not going to say too much about the weather but I will say it will take snow worse then last time to stop us this month! For those who didn’t see the thread for the first meet here is all the info you need; JAPT has been given the go ahead off the back of PREPT- a German night that has been taking place every month for some time now, with 150+ cars turning up. There is a small fee of £2 per car for entry to the meet but that’s a small price to pay for such a good venue, please try to bring change as we wont have a load on the gate. Entry is from 7PM onwards till late. Food will be available at the Kentagon (for those of you who don’t know that’s the Brand hatch bar/cafe!) along with soft, hot & alcoholic drinks. Usually a full menu is available but as this is the ‘first’ meet the menu will be limited. I’m sure I don’t need to say it but please drink responsibly if you’re driving! Rules of the meet: 1. JAPANESE CARS ONLY! We will let Korean cars sneak in though! Sorry but if you turn up with your mate in his ‘e.g. Golf’ he will have to park in the hotel car park next to the brands hatch main entrance & walk through. The gate & surrounding area will have additional security & JAPT marshals, there will be no exceptions, Non Jap cars will be turned away. 2. STICK TO THE 10MPH SPEED LIMIT once on site. If you race away from the gate whilst entering you'll simply be asked to turn around and leave by security who will have been contacted via radio. You are also on CCTV once on site! Same goes for anyone seen driving like complete idiots in any areas allocated to us or outside the venue. We want this to be a respectable meet and police can be called if necessary. 3. NO PETS. Shame I know but after all this isn't Crufts! 4. NO LITTERING. Please use one of the many bins provided. 5. NO DRUGS. I know some of you out there like a good ol' smoke but please, have it before or after the event not during and if you’re driving you shouldn’t be doing it anyway! 6. STEREO'S. Please keep your music to a reasonable level so YOU can hear it not everyone else. Brands Hatch is situated on the A20 near West Kingsdown. Just 3 miles from junction 3 (Swanley) of the M25 Brands Hatch Circuit Fawkham Longfield Kent http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/brand ... ind-us.asp Hopefully we will see some of you guys down there again, this time without the snow! Pete
  5. I think it will be the second thursday of every month Cheers bud Yep- it will be the second thursday of every month and the next meet is still on and it falls on the 12th again.
  6. What can I say guys- it was a huge success and a huge failure at the same time! All the visitors to the meet will have spoken to either me or Dan at the gate and all I can say is that we are sorry and this isn’t the start to the meet we were hoping for. A big BIG thank you to everyone who went to the trouble to come despite the weather and for everyone being cool about the decision, despite some people having a long trip to get there and home again. Even with the weather easily over 100 cars turned up which is a great sign for the future. Due to the weather conditions Brands took the decision to pull the event about ten minutes before people started to arrive and at the time that seemed like a bad choice but come 9pm I began to think it was probably the right decision as the snow was awful later on in the eve, if I could spin the wheels of a crappy old polo doing 30mph in third in sure some of the cars turning up would have found it even more difficult! I just want to say thanks to Darren-B and Bulletmagnet who were the very first people there; they even got there before I did! I'd love to let everyone in free next time but then me and Dan would be paying for the meet! But if anyone deserves free entry next time it’s these guys, was nice to meet you both. We are going to be talking with brands tomorrow and hopefully everything is still go for next month providing the weather is ok! (Security got a bit funny with us about people parking outside, which is why we ended up sending people in the bluewater direction). Next time if there is any sign of really bad weather I will put up a number so you can get through to either me or Dan to make sure everything is go. I’m off to warm up and cry about the failure of this meet, I’ll post back about the next meet soon (next meet should be the same time next month). Thanks & sorry again everyone! Pete
  7. Well its only a few hours away now and the weather isnt that bad at the moment. Just a couple of quick reminders about the meet- 1) Remember your 2quid as we wont have a load of change on the gate and...... 2) You cant get into brands until after 7pm- we dont want you all waiting around when you dont have to! Other then that we look forward to seeing you all down there! Pete
  8. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you all Right, after talking with the guy who set up the meet with brands he said that if you all turn up together then you get to park up together but if you dont you may not get to as he doesnt want to hold spots for clubs as such and wants it more as a everything is mixed up type meet. I dont really agree with this and have been p.m'ed on a few forums about this issue with people wanting to go park with their clubs but unfortunatly I'm not the one saying how the meet should be done, all i can say to you guys is do what you have suggested with meeting once inside brands and drive down towards the kentagon together. If there is anyone who arrives late and doesnt know anyone come find me and I will do my best to point you in the direction of your fellow club members- I'll be the marshal wearing glasses, parker jacket and have 'atticus' written on the side of my hat- no dress though!! Look forward to seeing you tomorrow! Pete
  9. Thats a good idea, im going to get together with dan tonight (he's the other guy whos mostly sorted this meet for us) and try to come up with a floor plan so we know were to place clubs- this in turn i will post on the forums but i will also be down there showing people where to go. I'll post more on this tonight if pos
  10. Yes that will be the plan, im going to try and have everyone parked up with their fellow owners but at the same time I would like to have all the different clubs quite close to each other rather then being spread out all over the place, try and give it a bit more of a local community feel If you could all come down in abit of convoy that would be a great help to me as i can get the bulk of you all parked up together but i will leave abit of a space for later commers- i think this first meet will be abit all over the place! Pete
  11. Dont worry 'guys'- cross dressing is allowed at the meet, might be abit cold for skirts though! Thanks for the support for the meet, hopefully it wont be to cold and the rain & snow will hold off for one night! I'll be the one parking people up once in brands with Dan (forum name of dan_ss), the guy who talked brands into it, on the main gate- so at least you'll be able to put faces to names. Look forward to seeing you all there, Pete
  12. Hi everyone, sorry for such a long post but there is a lot to be said! Ive seen a few tuned Z's in the area and more stock versions so hopefully this will interest you guys. JAPT has been given the go ahead off the back of PREPT- a German night that has been taking place every month for some time now, with 150+ cars turning up. This is the first meet to determine whether it’s going to be successful or not, it will be held on Thursday 12th February 2009 7.00pm till late and if successful every 2nd Thursday of the month. Track evenings will become available on the summer nights of the meet along with BBQ’s and we can also open the go kart track and see who’s really the fastest of the Jap car owners! There is a small fee of £2 per car for Entry to the meet but that’s a small price to pay for such a good venue.
