  1. this is hotrains unit viewtopic.php?f=32&t=22111 and to route the cable to the handbrake cubby is dead easy,
  2. what else would i need to intergrate it into my car, i presume yours is able to use all your steering wheel controls. on the website it says it requires an aditional cable to use OEM steering control functions. would that be coming with the unit as well. was this something you fitted yourself, or was it already in the car when you bought it? sorry for the silly questions just it is quite tempting
  3. looks like a nice unit, i'd be tempted but its out of my price range at the moment, will let you know if my situation changes, but i think i may end up going down the pioneer route.
  4. finally got mine fitted, so i thought i would post up pictures of it.
  5. i'm looking for the greddy gear knob, can't make my mind up between there ball type or the funky one. have found the funcky one but only with the 5 gear pattern on ebay, have googled it but not finding anything. plus on ebay they are around £40 for the greddy on, but the top secret one on the website on page 1 is nearly £80, i don't get it, they're the same design, probably from the same manufacturer, yet almost twice the price for tio secret.
  6. big old farm for me, with lots of out buildings, so i can set it up with a giant storage garage for my cars, another as a big workshop so i could set up my own garage to do mods for myself and others.(keep it fun no worries of running a business) and another set up as a wood work shop so i could actually make furniture as a hobby. as for cars i'd keep the zed, but mod the hell out of it. i think id have a konigsegg (not sure of spelling) definatly a lambo, but not sure which one. not a ferrari fan to poncy for my liking. have a tricked out exige for track days with a super charger one of those paris dakkar style off road bobcats (the indestructable landrover on steroids that you can drive off a cliff) for things like paris to dakkar etc. not sure what else i'd get. but i'm sure i could think of something. and i'd probably still teach, but maybe part time so i can still claim my government pension. but i'd probably setup an apprentership scheme for difficult kids to come and work with me to train them up to do something useful.
  7. stunning to watch, absolute nutter
  8. i have the F500bt which i will be fitting into my cubby in the next couple of weeks, at the moment keeping the bose, but it should give me satnav as well as ipod connection. just waiting on a new dash cubby so i can fit it with the retractable lid. will eventually swap out the bose for the 3100dvd from pioneer, but its all cash dependent.
  9. if you want to be sure, spend the best £15 ever and get an HPI check done, it will instantly show any milage descrepency, if its been written off, if it has any outstanding finance, or if anything else major has happened to it. thats if its a UK car. if its an import the info will generally only go back as far as when it entered the country.
  10. from the vin it looks to be a kuro black pre facelift, possible jap import? not sure i recognise the vin, which makes me think its an import.
  11. i don't understand why people have used the anti foulers first, in the MR2 Roadster club, anyone who played around with the cats or fitted turbo setups would regularly get CEL's because of the increased gas flow, and the easy fix was to lift the sensor out of the flow slightly with an anti fouler. i used to buy them in from the states and sell them on, used to get them for about £5 a set.

    MOT

make sure thet don't put it on the rolling break test machiner its mucho bado for the LSD
  13. i stood there and whatched them do it, never seen it before so was even asking them about it.
  14. that was my first ever MOT, and thats the one and only time i'll let it happen. i think it s a case of whats done is done, and suprising how many garages don't know that as well. don't forget most MOT test centres are used to dealing with your average mondeo and vectra and that cars awith LSD are alot rarer and they probably wouldn't know the car to diagnose that it had an LSD. i know of several dealerships that use independent MOT centres and don't do it themselves.
  15. my mot tester did the same, only found out after that you shouldn't put a car with LSD on those brake roller testers. apparently it puts force back into the gearing which its not designed to take. i.e instead of the engine spinning the gears and then the wheels, the rollers end up spinnning the gearing in the LSD. if i'd have realised i would have told them not to do that.
  16. i never used to be that bothered by the whole budget thing, but these days i am starting to dread it.
  17. hi flow cats should not affect your mot, thats why people use them as an alternative to de-cat pipes.
  18. i'm a teacher and no its not, its where all the lazy pain in the arse kids want to sit, but i make them come to the front. cos i'm mean
