Shout out from Easy Anglian
rtbiscuit replied to SilenTKK8's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
welcome to the suffolk posse, love the yellow one, very nice. will hopefully organise a mini meet in suffolk at some point. will let you know. if not get yourself down the the south eastern ones they are the biggest and a lot of us from suffolk go over to them. -
i'll start a new thread when i get home specifically for it. but to be honest until the 18th of may, there won't be anyhting solid to look at. the progress will really speed up from there.

what i've been discussing with rob at likwid art is first off is to get the sizing and shape right for a rear badge. this can then be used on the rear strut brace, and on the front end if you have smoothed off the indent for the burger. next stage is to get some replacement round ones to go under the indicators on the wings, idea is to replicate whats already there but change the silver zed for a tommy k one and have either a gloss black or carbon fibre back. with the chrome ring around it. also talked about doing wheel centres as well. could also look into doing a replacement nose badge with the burger shape, but instead of saying nissan, it would have the tommy badge in the middle with a chrome outer that fits in the indent thats already there. but it will be a stage by stage thing. should have some of those done on the 18th of may as my car will be the test car. will leave it with him for the day while i go off to my conference.
-
the reason i'm going up there is so that he can measure all my car sections up for other logo locations and also to make sure that the badge will cover the 2 location holes

have just spoken to marshalls of bury st edmunds who have had a reply from nissan GB regarding my clicking axle and have refused to fix it out of warranty. there reason is because i haven't been a loyal customer, i bought my 350 from a non nissan dealership so i didn't get there extended warranty. and didn't buy from them, so they aren't going to do it. nissan GB are a bunch of $"!"£$3£%£"2 "E£"!3" not sure what to try next the car is out of warranty by 3 weeks. should i speak to nissan GB direct about it? only had the car since november would the dealer i bought it off pay for it do you reckon? i thought most cars come with a 12 month warranty when you buy second hand from a dealership?

just been on the phone to rob at likwid art who says that these should be no problem to do a tommy k replica. what he does need is a really good close up shot of the badge. and also if possible some dimensions of it, hights widths etc, in fact if some one had a crayon and paper and took a rubbing of it would be even better. am hoping some people would be able to help me out. will be going up to see him on the 18th of may as it conincides with a conference i'm on in birmingham. as soon as i've seen him i should have a working prototype from him fitted and from there everyone else should be able to order them. don't know anything on prices yet but they shouldn't be too dear. he also mentioned that when companies say that items are on back order it tends to mean that they can no longer get them, but i don't know how true this is.

i'm on there as well look for richard thompson, location should be ipswich will go on later when i get home and add some people but no access at school. although the kids seem to find websites that allow them to bypass security. might have to go into one of the detentions and find out how they do it.

that looks great mate, do you reckon its possible to do the door pocket things with the window controls on, as mine are scratched to buggery. thats the only reason i want to cover parts of the interior, same with the steering wheel controls also got scratches on, i think the previous owner was a bobcat. might also need the centrew console doing as i have a new cubby on the way and i fear it might be a different colour. so prices on those bits would be great -
it allows for better heel and toe action when your driving
-
never heard of them, but looks an impressive piece of kit, bet that costs a few bob.
-
if you plan to do it yourself i suggest checking out opie oils, they know their stuff and do things for a good price.
-
i think the esprit ones would suit best, but they aint cheap
-

makes me feel alot better about going to marshalls, there going to hopefully sort out my rear clicking axle.

what would really help is someone who has one fitted could take a real close up pic of it that fills the screen and is straight on, as these are almost impossible to find a decent close up of and to recreat is a night mare.

http://www.likwidart.com/index.html here is a link to his website, photos don't do it justice some of his stuff. there are others i don't like, but i worked with him on the MR2roc club to do the JDM eagle badge and it looked OEM fit on the car. just have to keep him in line as he gets great, but crazy ideas of doing your whole car, and i only want the badge in one size. was going to get him to do the side zed badges as a tommy K badge on carbonfibre background. i might ring him tonight and see what he says, depends on if i fall asleep when i get home as i only had 3 hours sleep because i was up till 4 30 am marking GCSE coursework. and i'm knackered.

don't for get that doesn't include the £100's you would have spent on induction kits, exhausts, plenum spacers etc to make the most of the re flash.

i'm not a student and i think thats bloody expensive. am contemplating getting likwid art to make a replica for me.

i dealt with the woman first, she knew very little, and didn't seem that bothered, and the test drive route she took me on would possibly have been fine for a micra but not a high performance car. she did not sell me that car by a long shot and put me off it, so went off and had a look at the Z4 coupe. second visit was a young lad, was quite helpful, was pleasnat to deal with did all the call backs etc, but when it came to negotiating on a car it was the main boss making all the decisiions but he wouldn't come out fo his office and talk direct wiht me. got frustrated and told them to stick it. the reason it annoyed me is i know what it could be like. i'm not expecting him to take over the deal, as the young lad has to do it himself, but some involvement would have been nice. when we bought my wifes new golf the dealership we used was great, same situation, dealing with the young lad, but the boss would pop his head in, ask if things were fine and help on the hard ball negotitating. we got extra money off because we promised to bake them a cake and bring it in when we came to collect. he made us teas and coffees and made us feel important. the ipswich nissan just made me feel like i was putting them out and that it was all too much effort. there service department and warranty section might be the best in the country but i refuse to use them because their sales manager is a div.

as said before, glynn hopkins is worth giving a wide bearth, thats both their ipswich and colchester branch, don't know about the others but for me as a brand name i won't go near them. i am going to marshalls in bury st edmunds with an out of warranty; warranty issue. so far have spoken to them on the phone and they have been very good, got to ring them back to day to find out the next step. will let people know what they are like, but i've heard positive things about the marshalls in cambridge, and i think they are in the same chain, so it should be ok.
