  1. have run my car for about 2 hours today and have been driving with the window down and the heaters on full. and about an hour ago i flicked the switch back over to cold and no odour or smell at all. i haven't run the AC yet so that might put moisture back into the system. but it looks like as long as you regularly heat out your vents it should keep it under control. will keep an eye on it and see how it goes.
  2. have only noticed it since the hot weather has started and i've been running the cold blower no AC. so maybe running the hot blower for an evening might kill it all off. very rairly run the recuirculation, only tend to use normal.
  3. i am noticing a bad odour in my car, and no its not me. if i run the aircon its fine, and if i run any heat its ok, but if i run the vents on normal but cold, i get a kind of damp stale smell through the vents, is this curable or will i smell for ever
  4. i'm hoping when i go he'll defo do the rear badge, i'm hoping for the sides, and he might do wheel centres and possibly mock up a nose badge, but i don't need a nose badge, so if he does it will be up for grabs.
  5. How would you get a sexy smooth edge though, and not a cut flat edge that looks unfinished? I would want to achieve a smooth glossy finish on the edges that mirrors the surface. easy affter cutting, just wet and dry the edges and then polish. same as with plastics
  6. to be honest adrian, i think its the same for most people, until you can see a finished item you don't want to hedge your bets and fully understand. hopefully by the 18th i'll have lots of pics up and people will be able to make more informed choices.
  7. the one of the front wheel 5th pic dowm looks like its picked up a chip on the rim on the right hand side middle of on of the segments just under where it says volks. you can see a white chip. hope its just a bit of dirt or something. those wheels look sweet by the way.
  8. its not for originals its for copies useing a technique called likwid art. http://www.likwidart.com/ this is his website and the kind of stuff he does, somethings i don't like at all but other things he does are amazing, have a look at his lettering and logo section, some of the stuff in there is indistinguishable from OEM and some looks even better. he is going to do his own version of the Tommy kairara badge. if its pricing you want to know; to give you an idea at my last car club i organised the JDM eagle badge to be made; it was a similar size to the tommy k zed badge but more intricate, and i'm sure if i remember rightly they were about £35 a logo. thats just a guide line, can't give you an exact price yet as he hasn't tried making them yet
  9. they arried on thursday mate, picked them up on friday from the sorting office. just out of interest where they meant to come with self adhesive tape or am i supposed to supply my own? no probs if i'm meant to do it myself will get some tomorrow and put them in.
  10. somrthing wrong here? i can see the link text but the link dosn't work and there is no image.
  11. yes pllease buddy, those pics are ok, but the first one which is nice and close is taken at an angle, and trhe second one is 2 far away. if i cold have a pic taken at the same angle as pic 2 but close up like pic 1 would be perfect. and the rubbing of it would be perfect.
  12. these are the originals from tommy k themselves,
  13. I have no experience with these thing biscuits as my hair (whats left of it) needs 10 seconds room air exposure to dry whats left of my hair gets a number 2 trimming every 3 weeks so am in the same situation, but i nick my wifes spare one for DIY jobs. it should work like a heat gun and draw the bubbles to the surface.
  14. axle stands are fine, my mate mark has a mk1 mr2 thats been on axle stands outside for a year now and its been fine. personally i'd jack it up put it on the stands and then put some wood under the jacking points. that way if for some freak reason the jacks were to fail it would hardly drop.
  15. i have a bandsaw which does a good job, but something like a dremmel with a cutting head and a steady hand would probably do.
  16. + 1 on that. I did have a look at this not long ago but the thing that put me off is that you can't get rid of the air bubbles without an oven. use a hair drier. it gets the bubbles out
  17. its not really a vinyl, they are a plastic resin with an adhesive backing. haven't worked out the finer points of the wheel centres, if the current ones can be modified i.e. you can remove the nissan logo then you can then stick the new logo in place. if not i might need to try and source blank wheel centres which you can then add the logo. haven't worked out the logistics on this one yet
  18. i'm hoping i got first dibs on the oil catch can, but i fear misoiur jerry has got there first
  19. M350ZB i notice you have a tommy k original on the rear of your car, is there a chance you could take a really good close up of it for me so that rob at likwid art could use it. and even better would it possible to go nursery style and take a crayon rubbing of the original fro me as well. cant do this project without a good close up and some dimensions. and the rubbing would allow me to sort out the dimensions and angles
  20. it suits the car, and gives it the ability to confuse people so they don't know what it is. oh and it looks good.
  21. Rear badge 1. Jay 2. hotrain 3. Scottsoulby Side wing badges (carbon fibre background/gloss black/no background/something else) 1. Stew (gloss black) 2. hotrain (CF) 3. front nose badge (carbon fibre background/gloss black/no background/something else) 1. hotrain (CF to fit indent) 2. 3. Wheel centres 1. 2. 3. cheers guys for showing interest. as for pictures i can't really show you anything till we have something made up as all the ideas are in my head kind of. i suppose i could try and explain them i.e. the nose badge wing badges, if people who are good at photoshop want to have a go knocking them up. but all the others should look pretty much like the really tommy k, just different sizes depending on location Nose badge - picture the standard nissan nose badge or the ones with a zed in (preferably the one with the over sized zed in) then keeping the outer cirlce and wing shape just remove the nissan section (or the chrome zed) and replace with a large tommy k badge that fits into the circle, with all 4 corners of the zed touching the inner edge of the circle. then it can be left plain i.e. you can see the paint work behind or have the background filled in either gloss black or carbon or something else. wing badges - same as above really but just sized to fit. think standard wing badges, just swap the chrome zed for a tommy k. all the others would just be a zed, as for different colours there is no reason that the tommy k couldn't be a different colour,
  22. Right not sure if i have posted in the right area as its not really a group buy as such more gauging interest to see how many people want them so that rob will have an idea on numbers. Rear badge 1. 2. 3. Side wing badges (carbon fibre background/gloss black/no background/something else) 1. 2. 3. front nose badge (carbon fibre background/gloss black/no background/something else) 1. 2. 3. more names can be easily added just put 3 in each as a starting point just gives me an idea of what people are looking for if you can think of any other applications let me know. the rear badge could be used on the rear strut brace but you'd need to fill the original hole and then get it covered by P15ULT in carbon before hand. if you got a blank richbrook, you could use the same one as a logo on that as well.
