  1. if your not picky on engines, there are a world of options out there http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=v ... o_id=32141
  2. nope, tried, but all sold out
  3. if you can get hold of one a Vette LS2 the kits already available for a straight swap, well in the states at least, not sure its as straight forward on a UK car
  4. you can get special insets for low down filters that stops water going up the tube like a Vax hoover,
  5. personally i don't think the zed engine is worth keeping NA if your spending that kind of cash; its missing 2 cylinders for a start. i like the zed but i'd rather see that engine mounted to an SC or TT, suits the car better. if you want to go NA, drop a V8 in it. the cost would proably be less.
  6. i'm glad i didn't have those filters today when i had to drive through the 1 foot deep puddle that was 100 metres long. it was coming over the bonnet but your setup is looking tres bonne
  7. you'd need to run a full forged build, maybe bored out to 3.7 litres, ported and polished. with ITB's possibly with NOS and a water meth injection setup. that would see your largest numbers NA. or alternatively lift the engine out completely and drop a V8 in there. still NA but will have more torque and BHP (dependant on engine choice) as for numbers for both setups? not a friggin clue?
  8. i like it, what engine is it wheels suit it as does the intake
  9. i'm sure last time i looked it was about £370 but that was a few years ago.
  10. an engine is an engine at the end of the day; the zed works on internal combustion just like any other car and uses a mix of fuel, spark and air to make it go. the quality of a remap is down to the person doing it. there are 2 places known for doing zeds RSTuning up near you and Abbey motorsport how good the tune depends on how good the tuner is, the zed in NA form is not an easy car to extract the power out of. and acutally the price being quoted isn't far off what you'd pay at abbey or RST also from memory you need special software for pulling the zeds maps. a bad map can lean out an engine to far and course it to pink out and possibly over heat or cause bad damage.
  11. I did it a while back. Lot of work. Thread should be somewhere on here. I can't search in detail as I'm the phone, but ill have a look for some pics and post up later. It's a lot of work, and the handles need spraying black first.
  12. Always makes me smile that my 4 litre V8 is £220 a year to tax, think it might be up by a tenner next year. Permission to be smug sir. Lol.
  13. Love ITB's my friend at paragon installed and runs them on his track XK8 its frickin awesome
  14. yes i meant consultants as in paper pusher not as in medical care giver.
  15. there are swings and roundabouts to every decision. i'm not saying the forum should move to a paid membership, i wouldn't want to see it end up as a clsoed forum like others i know as it kills the traffic (does keep the riff raff out though ) keeping the resources free is a good idea as its the main draw to the club in the first place. but as has been said people would want to see returns, so your suddenly in a situation of having to offer a load of extras and who would organise it? with regards to moderating i always viewed it a bit like the masons; you got invited to join if you were seen to offer benefits to the group. you don't vote for who's in charge, and you get to learn a special handshake at wales meets
  16. you get to go visit the zed shed where they would probably do all the work; especially if you bring gifts of food and tobacco
  17. to be honest no one doubts the hard work of the frontline staff; i think all our issues lead back to the inept management and leadership of the NHS. too many consultants and managers not enough doctors and nurses. and the staff that are there are then worked to the bone. the NHS tried to implement a huge computing system a while back; they spent an absolute fortuen on it, and it doesn;t work, so it was scrapped. its wastage from non frontline staff that is the issue.
  18. small world, i drive past kesgrave every day! is there any difference between di-noc and hexis when it comes to easyness of wrapping ability? your always welcome to pop round to have a look. as for wrapping with them i find the hexis easier to wrap with but more importantly i found their carbon finish more realistic. they are fairly similiar, i wouldn't say there is masses in it. i'd be interested to know what laquer you used, i tried it on the hexis and it didn't like it. these were hexis but the hexis didn't like laquer it went all melty
  19. god cragus would you too just get a room
  20. i thought it was because you got banned from another site so set your own one up? and to be fair you've done a good job
  21. S2K.com is a very good example of using paid membership. you can access all of the forum for free i.e. the info parts etc and all the stuff that people come on a forum for. but for those who are a paid member get extra benfits i.e. they can put up for sales ad's (non paying members can buy but not sell) there is also a members only section where only paid members can access. also there are emails inviting members to events like track days and airfield days. paid members get first dibs and a 10% discount. then after a week its opened up to the rest of the club but without the discount. paid members also get a discount with the traders over non paying members. this does mean they have AGM, the finances and expenditure is posted up each year. they then also have the capital to pay for top notch server and hosting and also have etc IT support. but you have to remember their 1 club incorporates all the s2000 owners from around the world, it is a huge club and people post in their own regional section but when it comes for searching for info. its like being able to browse here, NS, my350Z and every other zed club all at the same time. so you actually paid double membership, i paid to join the club and to also join the regional club i.e.S2KUK think it was a grand total of £25 all in. which is a snip compared to the £55 i spend to be a member over on EXEC.co.uk the XKR forum. but then they get quarterly magazine, specialist tool hire etc. but thats locked tighter than a gnats bum. all technical info is hidden unless you pay up.
  22. i don't go to wales either, can i have free beer tokens?
  23. to drive it would you have to change your name to michael, and fit a red LED strip on the front?
  24. but if some people become a moderator the team would have to go and delete all their back room chatter about said person that rules out people like me, husky, sarnie, neilp etc i'm guessing i must have at least 1 thread with my name on back there
