  1. i manage 280 miles to £90 of fuel on just urban driving; or i can get 450 miles on a long cruise. 70l tank and as its pre 2001 its tuned to run on boggo 95 ron
  2. the noise of the SC on my jag is one of my favourite noises, same on the old mini cooper S with SC, much prefer it to turbo noise. the old turbo suck woosh is fun to start with but gets annoying after a while. i prefer the whine of an SC. but its personal preference. stand alone ECU's might have the best option for whringing every last horse out of an engine. but i think the advantages of being able to maintain the stock ECU would give me a lot more piece of mind. i think keyser is possibly the only situation where i can see standalone as the best option becuase he is running so many variables with SC, NOS and meth injection. i think the big thing is picking the right place to do the job. regardless of what its going onto, the map is the make or break of a car. and as darren said above if done badlly it will kill a car.
  3. i've seen uglier zeds, they don't bother me, i'd drive that on the road quiet happily
  4. i'd leave them alone they look nice as they are.
  5. they work well with the JDM brakes
  6. got a close up of the logo on the spoke and the centre cap.
  7. you never hear of bad behaviour at rugby games, and if you get some try it most of the crowd from both teams tell them to F off. its just a different atmosphere. i remember football back in the early 90's the football riots, the hayday of the football firms etc. the fans have cleaned their image up a bit. but if i had a kid i would take them to a rugby match but i would feel on edge taking them to a football game. but i suppose thats just my age and memory of the game. sadly the minority have spoilt it like you say. i predict a 2-1 win to city, .
  8. its the money thats spoilt football, i like to play footy, just can't watch it. lost respect for the game along time ago. if they were to cap salaries, bring in goal line tech and video ref. reinstall a higher level of respect for the ref's etc it might start to make a better game. whats sad to see in british football is that the majority of the players aren't british; its all foreign players. silly high wages mean silly high ticket prices. what i love about rugby is i can go watch it, i can sit with the other fans, i can have as many beers while the match is on, and then go drinking with the opositions fans regardless of the result. the old saying was "football; played by gentleman, watched by thugs. Rugby; played by thugs, watched by gentlemen" from what you see on TV when the matches are on especially the internationls etc its more like "football; played by idiots; watched by retards" footy players seem to spend more time in the papers not for their skill but who they've screwed, or where they crashed their ferrari, or who they raped, I wouldn't want to see football disappear, but it needs to clean its image up, it seems to be run by a corrupt group in the FA with players and clubs more bothered about merchandise, sponsorship and money than actually playing well. maybe if they focussed more on the sport they might actually win a world cup. as for the footy cup final, not a fan of either team, but i think city might have the edge for me.
  9. it must mean the image is hidious, the forum has a taste filter, anything crap looking gets blocked, hence the invalid message That was a joke by the way, chris I has the correct answer and i look forward to seeing the new front
  10. places like MY350Z are the best places to have a read, i don't go on there much but they have the big database of info when it comes to NA builds, engine swaps and FI. they've doen it all and it costs peanuts for them parts are cheaper and more readily available. SC costs in the UK have only recently come down to a more accessible level. so UK based people are very limited on what they do. with regards to a standalone ECU i'd disagree with neil, from what Abbey have said the standard ECU is more than capable of coping with the tuning of both big NA and FI setups. and because the ECU is plugged into not just the engine but also the security and imoboliser etc when you remove the old ECU it creates a whole load of other problems as you suddenly lose a load of other stuff. i contemplated it with my Zed, but after spending a fortune and making Sweet FA on an NA setup i sold up and bought something else, eventually leading me to getting my XKR it came pre FI'd and if i want to play around and get more power it will cost me pennies and i'll gain about 100 bhp. I'm going to save my insane NA build for my first Kit car, where i'll have the time to dismantle and run it in the garage without having to worry about having to get to work without a car
  11. its not jealousy its a re education for muptards who follow football
  12. i think you might be in over your head on this one. or you need to do more research. its all well and good asking questions but i don't think any of us are going to plan your build for you. you'll need to take the start info and get reading, lots and lots of reading.
  13. I like the buddy club stuff its made well, but i had invidia on my old car and the build quality and welds are superb. and the Incidia is such a better looking system. and personally i'm a True Dual person. but thats my opinion. you have to go with what you like, its you paying for it and driving it. if your heart is into jap style systems, then thats the route you should take.
  14. that first video shows they fit. don;t forget your removing both the upper and lower plenum as thes go straight on to the cylinders. and in that first video you also see the bonnet has massive vents in right on top of the intakes, so its sucking cool air straight from outside. there isn't a specific kit as such from what i'm aware of you build your own to fit the engine. Jenvy would be my first port of call as they are one of the largest ITB supplies. and a popular choice for most people going the ITB route. others use bike throttle bodies. if you have the DE engine your unlikely to see a gain of 75 hp without spending major cash. that red Zed with the ITB's was at 370 odd bhp. have a read of what else was fitted though. you'd also need to be running new manifolds a decent exhaust and possibly water injection to maximise your setup. but ITB's are notoriously a PITA to setup. i think you have to raise the engines compression and getting them to idle steady can be a challenge. i've also heard they need alot of attention so possibly not always the most reliable. but if setup right and done properly they are so awesome. and they've been run on cars for years, its proper old school tech
  15. normally they are fitted with either little foam hats (easiest way to explain it) or like a filter block that goes over one side. (so if you have a V6 it would be 1 foam block over each bank of 3 cylinders)
  16. you can see in the video each cyliner has its own trumpet, below each trumpet is a butterfly valve (the throttle body) one for each cylinder. so each cylinder draws its own air instead of being fed by 1 or 2 air feeds with filters on. these particular ones are also running either water or meth injection as well (this is where a mist of water or meth and water are sprayed as a mist into each cylinder to increase combustion. (basic break down)
  17. LOL, wrong game, i think you're getting confused with Lacrosse? or Tiddly winks? game with a roundball 2 teams, played by girls; nope i think i have the right sport
  18. staying NA is not a cheap option; be it tuning the stock engine, rebuilding the stock engine or changing the engine completely. if you wanted to be NA and special in the UK ITB's are probably the best option, very few have done it but the sound is pure sex wee.
  19. i don't follow netball that closely but i reckon acrington stanley might pip them to the post.
  20. these guys would be a starting point http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/s-5-nissan-350zg35.aspx and browse my350z
