  1. Ain’t that the truth! Really does baffle my brain people who can’t understand the meaning of necessary journeys.
  2. Just as bad as the tailbacks at our local McDonalds in both directions when they mentioned they were closing them. If getting one last McDs fix is your biggest worry at any time let alone during this pandemic then being locked down in your house to reevaluate your life choices is exactly what you need right now as your priorities are all wrong!
  3. Ironically enough I vacuumed mine the other day then noticed its now flashing. Pure fluke this thread has just had another comment on it so will do this reset in the morning.
  4. Relatively new owner to most, only had it since November
  5. Here’s my current fleet: ’04 350 ’72 Phoenix Trike (Tuned VW Bus Flat Four) ’86 Suzuki Intruder VS700 (Acquired from my wife’s late uncle) Although trike is currently for sale and bike is taking a bit more work than planned chasing electrical gremlins as it was sat for about 4 years.
  6. Well after ploughing on with the front HSDs and finding a number of bits on the car that could do with attention, mainly on the rear I decided to bite the bullet and order the SPCs seeing as they were the same price as going OEM. At least then I've got the option of utilising the extra range of adjustment if I ever need it later on as turns out the "Rear Dualtechs at max height are OEM height" is rubbish. As I've installed them true to the guidance and they sit 36mm lower than OEM when set at max height. I was hoping to only drop 20mm (Due to living in a village with speed humps) so might well need the extra adjustment to get the alignment right once we can all venture back out again.
  7. Hi all, In the process of fitting my HSD coilovers and have snapped a rear eccentric bolt, ironically whilst torquing it back up! Cant seem to find anywhere online to buy OEM ones, only SPC ones which offer extra adjustment but I begrudge paying £30+ for 2 bolts and having to widen the holes when at the height I’m going to won’t need that level of adjustment anyway. Anyone got any suggestions or any going spare I can buy ASAP please?
  8. Hi all, Does anyone have an OEM backbox knocking around in fairly good condition? Was lay under mine today doing diff and gearbox oil and the state of the exhaust tips infuriates me. But they’re not removable and look too far gone to save. Pretty sure it’s an OEM backbox I have although feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. Quite like the sound of it and on a tight budget whilst furloughed at the moment hence wanting to hopefully pick up a decent second hand one that someone may have removed for an upgrade. Ideally closer to Coventry the better if possible as I don’t want to take the **** too much on what’s a non essential journey unless it can be posted. Either that or I’ll have to stretch the budget if these are any good? I know it’s cheap and won’t be spectacular but are they that bad if anyone’s tried one?
  9. Guys this thread is from 2017. I think you missed out by a few years
  10. Potentially yes as Revival is normally mid September. But yes, no definite date at the moment as it’s very much a see how this pans out case the same as the rest of the motorsport calendar at the moment.
  11. FOS is currently only postponed until “late summer/early autumn”
  12. Gearbox oil, diff oil, brake fluid, clutch fluid and coolant flush? Often overlooked fluids that also require a change every few years generally.
  13. Same, got our orders Friday. Officially furloughed as of 5pm today
  14. I'll potentially have a full set coming off my 2004 DE soon. Just been told I'm being furloughed as of tomorrow evening so will finally have the time on my hands to install my HSDs. Can't comment on the state of my current OEM set up at the minute but rides fine with no known issues (99,000 miles covered and current assumption is that they're the OEM setup) but can confirm that in the next week or two once I've got them off if you're interested?
  15. The other V in my life, a twin that’s older than I am....just.
  16. Nothing yet no, it's on my to do list but need to research what's the best thing to protect them with. Was a bit of a last minute job whilst I had some spare time and already had the restoration kit handy from a previous vehicle. Any recommendations?
  17. Correct because they drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
  18. Can I cheat an post 2? A before and after as I had some spare time on my hands so did some headlight restoration. They're not perfect by any means, but a damn sight better than they were. Before: After:
  19. Work in motorsport, we were relegated to WFH at the start of the week but since then the 2 main governing bodies have pushed their ban dates back again to the end of May and June respectively so looks as though most of us will be getting furloughed on the government scheme pretty soon until motorsport starts back up again.
  20. Just used this handy guide to modify my headunit so I could run a line out from my Pioneer SPA-11DAB unit the wife bought me for Christmas. Sound quality is much better over the phono line than running it over FM signal. Thanks very much for the detailed write up
  21. Thanks for organising it. Good to get to my first meet and put faces to names and thanks all for being a welcoming bunch. Also now know of that great cafe being 20mins from my house too which is a bonus.
  22. Hi all, In my haste to replace my broken Bose headunit I purchased a second hand headunit. It’s just turned up and I’ve realised my error in that I didn’t look hard enough and it’s the non Bose headunit. Will it work with the rest of the Bose system or do I need to source a Bose one? (I already have a Pioneer DAB/Bluetooth unit that piggybacks off the OEM stereo hence just wanting a cheap OEM unit to replace my one which has a broken screen.) Thanks in advance Steve

  24. Holy thread revival Batman! But had to say thanks to this little write up I’ve just removed this from my car and it’s amazing how just that little bit of extra depth makes all the difference to the size and usability of the cubby hole.
  25. Hi all, Does anyone have a JDM sized front number plate bracket/mount for a 350Z (pre facelift if that makes any difference). Got my private plates to go on the car from my old car and the front one is JDM sized so would like to reuse it but have it mounted properly. Thanks in advance Steve
