  4. Very true indeed! Definitely something that has to be seen and heard in person as no videos ever do them justice
  5. Kind of car related, had a productive afternoon today building these:
  6. I’ve been once as I fluked it last year. I work for the timing company (TSL) that does the timing for the courses there so was up in the tower on the start line for the whole event. Great event and would love to go as a spectator sometime as there’s so much on show there beyond just the hill itself.
  7. Great job! Thanks for the write up as this has just now been added to my list of things to do
  8. Check out the shine on that!! Beautiful car, welcome to the club
  9. No, thanks as it’s appreciated, but yea Sunday works for me. I’ll PM you my number and just let me know what time and place suits you.
  10. As much as that would be handy, I’ll actually be over in Bromsgrove tomorrow afternoon/evening for a mates birthday drinks. But still don’t mind travelling to you over the weekend to collect it if that works?
  11. I’ll take the tonneau cover/divider if possible please? Can collect over the weekend if you’re free as I’m only down the road in Coventry?
  12. Yea have had a quick look, I haven’t carried anything that would leak in the boot yet but checked just in case the previous owner had had something leak but it all looks clean and tidy and no signs of anything being there before. My thoughts were bushing or strut as they’re the only things I could think of potentially being oil filled, but can’t see how it would get to where it is from the shock or suspension??
  13. Whilst under my car earlier doing an oil change I noticed it smelt like fuel, couldn’t see any leaks anywhere and figured maybe it was just where it’s got a full tank again. But I got down and had a quick look underneath from the drivers side and noticed an oily substance streaking down what I believe is the fuel tank? Anyone got any ideas on where it would be coming from as it smells like engine oil too rather than fuel or transmission oil but can’t see any way or reason how it would have gotten to where it was if engine related?
  14. Oddly enough I’ve also noticed my ‘54 Coupe appears to be doing the same
  15. Hi all, Does anyone have a JDM sized front number plate mount please? I have a UK car but my private plates I'm carrying over from a previous car uses a JDM sized front plate. As it's a pressed plate I don't want to screw it direct to the bumper, nor stick it direct to the curve of the bumper, so I'd like to get the front number plate bracket I assume imports came with for the JDM sized plates, right??? Or am I just easier getting a front UK sized plate made up? Would like it to look as OEM as poss rather than just the generic number plate brackets available on eBay so that it either covers or uses the existing holes hopefully. Thanks Steve
  16. Too true! I love forums as it's so much easier to compartmentalise the content so you can search and navigate it easier. I used to help run a Jap Car owners club with a forum, then through a few unexpected circumstances ended up with non Jap cars and drifted away. Just recently got back into Jap with my 350 and that forum has long since died and moved onto an FB group which is just a lot harder to engage people through and navigate. Thank god for this forum!
  17. Hi, thanks for the welcome. Yes not far away by the looks of it. Will be trying to get to meets although the summer period is my works busy time as I work in motorsport so not sure yet how many, if any, I'll manage. Yes, that went pretty quickly after the replies confirming it wasn't OEM. Conveniently the car doesn't mist up inside anywhere near as much now either as I think it was causing it to "sweat" as such by insulating the inside
  18. Oddly enough I was starting to think ARB/drop link related today. Hopefully if the weathers kind tomorrow I’ll jack it up and have a good prod around to see if anything looks perished or even just old and tired and go from there.
  19. Thanks, it's a bad photo in terms of lighting as they're actually a more anthracite/graphite colour not black, but yea I do like them in the contrasting colour, just sit to far into the arches for my liking.
  20. For want of a better term I've got what can only really be described as a wobbly rear end on my 350. It drives normally and like it should I believe in most scenarios but I just notice when I hit a bump in the road it's as if the back end of the car jiggles side to side a bit, but not as in loss of traction. More so like there's jelly between either the car and the subframe or potentially some of the other bushes. I've had a quick search and scroll through the tech section etc, but can't seem to see anyone having had a similar issue, but I'm sure it has probably occurred somewhere. Any one have any ideas on which bushes or components to check first save me blindly checking them all if one/some are common offenders? For reference, get no knocks, bangs or creaks etc from any of the suspension, feels smooth and quiet like it should, just not as tight as I'd expect it to be. Thanks in advance
  21. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the RAYS but not sure I can stomach running 20-25mm spacers on them. However, Tein springs are on my radar. I need to do some measuring as I don’t want to lower the car too much and end up in the same predicament as my Mini (also only lowered on Tein springs) where it scraped over all the speed bumps in my village unless going really slow at an angle. So I’m past that kind of hassle just to drive in and out of home every time now.
  22. Well those are both good references. Kinda what I expected but not what I wanted to hear too though it’s my daily and I quite like the stock body of the 350 so don’t want to be doing major arch work just to fit a set of wheels. They’re from a friend so I can go try them on the car when I’m back in the country but thought I’d see if it was worth the travel to him or not first. Sounds like it may be ambitious but worth a shot. If not I’ll look out for a less aggressive setup at a later date as I can’t bear the 18” RAYS sitting so far into the arches and not a fan of massive spacers to cure that issue.
  23. You’ve said it for me. I’ve tried willtheyfit but as said it was more arch side I’m concerned about, I know they’ll be fine suspension side. Will check out rimtuck now

    11J ET8 Rears?

Hi all, Firstly, apologies, I have tried searching but couldn’t find anyone with the same or close enough wheel width and offset to get an idea. I’ve got a chance on a set of wheels 18x9.5 ET10 fronts and 18x11 ET8 rears. From what I’ve read so far the fronts shouldn’t be an issue but does anyone know what work would be required to fit the rears please? If anything of course. I’m guessing at least an arch roll, but don’t want to go down the route of overfenders. Car is currently on stock suspension. Thanks in advance.
  25. I’d like to order one of these too please, Z being finished in the same material as the rest of the panel please.
