I'm running Hankook Evo 2's all around from tyreleader in 275/40/18 255/40/18 and they seem fine. Thats on a 8.5J / 9.5J staggered setup.

The renaultsport lines were generally well put together at their Dieppe factory and that's where the Alpine is assembled so it should be fine in that regards. Ebized its basically the Megane engine so for servicing Id expect any Renault dealer would be sufficient.

That doesn't look like a Fairlady Nismo from the photo so I hope you didn't pay a premium for it thinking it was genuine?

I think the pricing will be the downfall. I suspect there will be a gentleman's agreement with BMW that they don't undercut each other which will work in BMW's favour as they can charge that sort of money for a 2 seater and have the badge and finance clout to back it up (its going to depend on pcm figures list price is largely irrelevant). We'll have to wait and see if the Supra nostalgia can carry this into the £50k+ range or not.

Its a complex one given the scenario the work was being done under. By the sounds of it you've had a good ride in terms of savings you've achieved from this friendly garage on this (if it went to plan) and past jobs and those savings come at a cost by not doing things by the book and has the potential for situations like this to arise. Depending on how you react will dictate how your friendly garage will treat you going forwards, if you value them then take it on the chin and avoid using this individual in future otherwise sour things by trying to pursue the mechanic in small claims court or similar (which will be hard given the lack of paper trial).

This. Its either as Ekona says or my guess is the importer filled out the forms wrong and the DVLA just processed it without checking, it shouldnt happen but this is the DVLA afterall so anything is possible.

1 week bump. I've had some inquiries on the headlights but no sale so I've reduced the price to what I've had offered so far. Postage is £31 per box with ParcelForce 48hr no other option due to weight/bulk so I've dropped the price from £200 posted to £160, or £100 collected now.

I've got the following bits sat around doing nothing so I thought I'd list them to see if there is any interest. DE headlights (no ballasts) that have covered 40k'ish before being replaced with aftermarket lights. While id love to see Guy Martin do it, it would be so out of character I doubt it would work out. He seems to be exclusive to Channel4 anyway. Knowing the BBC and its diversity push Id expect them to fit a woman into the lineup just because it ticks a box.

I had CougarStore fit mine when having the clutch done and I had the increased engine noise the OP is describing so its not unique to a certain brand. Looking at my email confirmation from Vibra-technics it was a: "Transmission Mount - NIS234M". I didn't get any vibration just a low rumble/growl type noise at low speed (guessing it got drowned out at higher speed) It settled down after a while and i forgot about it but it was only reading this topic that reminded me again.
