  1. I don't live in Essex, so I google-imaged 'view of essex' to see what the roads look like and - seeing what came up - it's no wonder you lost it, under those appalling road conditions. It looks soooo slippery...
  2. You're right, I had exactly the same experience some years ago - apart from the 'slowed me down' bit.
  3. Good post mate. I like honesty. And you certainly have got a good friend there. Hope he got a little prezzie. Maybe getting yourself on a track day sometime this winter would help you to get rid of the jitters. After all, you know what they advise when you fall off a horse*... *...although to be honest, I hate horses - bloody great big things with a mind of their own - and they'll kick you when you least expect it - bit like that car you were driving, I suppose.
  4. This thread has reminded me - on my old 56 plate Z I bought a metal 'Z pin' off ebay for 99p, sawed the pin off it, put some double sided tape on the back and carefully stuck it just in front of the gear stick. I used to really like looking at that (sad, aren't I?)... Also, by the door hinge there is a black plastic vent with a 'Z' shape in it. I painted it silver and it made that bit look really good too. Just makes the car look a bit less cheap. Cost me nothing. Do these 2 mods and you've still got £99.01 to play with.
  5. Just to confirm, pre-Connect Premium equipped 370's do not have the speed camera option aaaah - thanks - I didn't know that.
  6. Hi Neil - now that I know you have a 2010 (hopefully with Connect Premium touch screen satnav) I'll make the effort to list the steps you take to turn her off. Click the following... 1. Settings. 2. Navigation. 3. Safety Guide Settings. 4. Speed Limit Display. 5. Safety Camera Warning Settings. 6. Safety Camera Voice Alert (on/off). Job done. Nag-free motoring!!! Good luck mate. Now can we see some pics & know what part of the country you're in?
  7. Bought a bottle of it about 10 years ago. Used it a few times and then I discovered that my car had what I presume were optional extras. My mate told me they were called 'windscreen wipers'. Apparently, you just flick a switch and hey presto, no more rain. I've never looked back. If you haven't got any, I thoroughly recommend that you get some (2 is normally enough). The rain-x is still in the cupboard, hardly used, cos it's a faff to put the stuff on every few weeks. Windscreen wipers are the future of rain elimination.
  8. If you have the Connect Premium satnav (2010 onwards), the instructions are on pp 8-6 & 8-7 of the Navigation System Owner's Manual - a very confusing and long-winded tome, but rtfm. This information may not apply to you, but as you haven't told us the year of your car, it's the best i can do. Personally. I'd never turn the speed camera warning off - I need all the help I can get. ...Did you know you can turn the warning volume down, so she's not shouting at you? And welcome - shame your first post has had to be an angry one!!! What's your ride and post some pics.
  9. I bought 2 Falken 453's for the rear a couple of months ago. The best price I could find were Oponeo Tyres - CLICK HERE - I think they may be based in Poland, but they were reliable and helpful/efficient on the phone - £119 for the Falken 453 225/45 R18, delivered. I had no problems with them. Blackcircles are £127.80 each, for the same tyre. Camskill are £127.90, so you could save about £36 if you buy 4 tyres from Oponeo.
  10. Meet Arfur... Strictly speaking not mine, but my son's - although we looked after him for ages when my son moved out. In the end, when we moved house recently we gave him to a good home. So, no, we don't have any reptiles - even the family of a dozen blue tailed skinks that disappeared under the floorboards when their vivarium door was left ajar are in the old house.
  11. Here are my titts - light smoke side & mid smoke rear quarterlight (the rear hatch is also mid smoke, but it's not visible here).
  12. Thanks for that. So how much improvement in horsepower could I expect to see - at the wheels - from a Milltek catback? Edit - with uprev, I mean. Hello. Hard to say. Bigger diameter and smoother with the Y pipes or true twin is always going to be better. I haven't had the chance to have one car on the dyno and do a full set of back to back tests unlike what Mark at Abbey has managed plus you can even see 2 cars, same year, same motor same mods making 15bhp difference so again hard to say. Its a case of better breathing is always going to see bigger improvements in overall performance and throttle response. Sorry I couldn't be more specific. Thanks for your help TDi - Even though you can't give me specific data, you're helping me to make a decision about whether I take up your offer or not. Like Jaz 350 I may also be in a better position to get it done after Christmas, so is your 'end of year' deadline an absolute one?
  13. I'm declaring today "Lou Reed Day", playing nothing but Lou Reed/Velvet Underground all day. Just a Perfect Day...
  14. Thanks for your input, but as the potential customer I think I'll wait until TGi have answered my question in post 12 before making my decision, if you don't mind.

  16. This is tempting me more than you could ever know. I still can't decide between Resonated Milltek, Invidia and Scorpion systems (catback) - Can you please tell me the differences in performance I could expect from these 3 systems with an uprev? I'd get it done at Abbey, by the way.

    Inside every fat bloke...
  18. Congratulations to Vettel. Fair play to him - good driver in a brilliant car. My only wish is to see him and Lewis in the same team one day, then we'll see who's best.

You're absolutely right mate. I took this pic when I first met you and I can confirm that first impressions are very deceptive.

Don't worry mate, you're not the oldest. I said you're not the oldest. There are plenty older than you. I said there are plenty older than you. ...he is the oldest really, but don't tell him (he'll never see this). There are at least 4 Zedders or ex Zedders older than Dicky at the last count Well, if we're using ex Zedders in the calculation (and we're not), I'm sure there are hundreds older than Dicky - he's just a pup compared to them. But up to now, Dicky is the oldest I SAID YOU'RE THE OLDEST ONE, DICKY - unless, of course, youuuuuu know better. Edit - He said he'll answer soon, but he's on the toilet at the moment
  21. Both legs amputated and the prosthetic replacements were too big? Just a guess.
  22. I say no way to orange wheels. Too chavvy (with apologies to anyone with orange wheels). If you must have a colour, why not a dark metallic purple?

  24. ...watch out Ricey & Pete87 - they're coming to get youuuuuu not really
