  1. Vlad, 350zeee doesn't say how long ago he was 21, might be 20yrs ago
  2. Don't forget to sorn it as there is now a legal requirement for continual insurance unless sorn is in place, good luck with everything.
  3. Is the real problem that you want to take things seriously and the rest of the band see it as a fun get together? That being the case, you need to change their attitudes or get out and find a like minded band. You say you hope to make a living out of this, do the others feel the same? If they don't the wedge is only going to become bigger, a difference of opinion can ultimately destroy friendships if not handled correctly. Be honest with them and make clear your hopes, if this means a parting of the ways as a band this might be the best for any friendship.
  4. Saw a guy yesterday about to do the same, stopped to let his wife out so he could squeeze his 4x4 into a space... whilst she was getting out someone else drove into the spot, made me laugh.
  5. Got mine today, some really good pics (+ the 4 from Ian ) she who must be obayed suggested it would be nice to include location captions, perhaps an idea for next year? p.s. already sent this earlier but it hasn't shown up on here so reposted, hope it doesn't duplicate
  6. For me it's always going to be Meat Loaf I can never get enough of " Bat out of Hell" "Objects in the rearview mirror"or "I'd do anything for Love" the list goes on....I know this shows my age!
  7. Had mine done after CS fitted coilovers, a place Mitz recommended just round the corner from him, £60 all in although I did have to go back to Mitz as the tyre centre were afraid of breaking one of the bolts. Andy spent five minutes with penetrating oil and some elbow grease to free it off. £150 seems a tad high but i guess you have to factor in London premium, also price isn't everything, you have to trust those working on your car.
  8. Dean, I love these cheap mods you are coming up with but I think I agree with vlad, conduit looks fine. P.S. are you on extended leave or are you trying to get your headlights onto every topic simultaneously? keep the cheap mods coming!
  9. If your looking for a good wrapping firm further North try "pwpro" they are based in Mansfield, did my zed matt grey with gloss black roof. Go on their website and you can see time lapse video and photos of their work. Mine was £1250 +vat I agree with others, vinyl gloss is not as shiny and respraying to another oem colour doesn't seem to make sense to me. Whatever you decide make your car your own and enjoy it.
  10. R.i.p. and I'm sure all of our thoughts are with the Button family, lets hope this spurs Jenson on.
  11. Surely if not financing this is as easy as how much cash have I saved up to purchase, insure, tax and mot at start of ownership followed by can I afford mpg and repairs etc ongoing. If financing can I afford the repayments and ongoing. Any formula will be personal according to other spend and priorities I.e. mortgage, family, holidays, bills. There is no sensible way you could simply pick a % of income.
  12. Driving through Willington two cars ahead of me, are you local?
  13. Can't argue with GM's logic especially as it's out of evo. For me there has always been a love of the zed since I saw my first 240z so I just needed the spare cash to own one as a weekender ( can't afford 40, 000 miles a year in the zed no matter how gently i drive it) once I get bored I will look at the jag xkr but at the rate I'm going that will be a retirement prezzie to myself.
  14. If I can make it could your friendly tyre firm check my geometry on Sat and what sort of time you thinking?
  15. Ian, surely "lakez" and "wales" will be highlighted, underlined and circled already as they are far more important dates to remember than Easter, Xmas etc!
  16. Cheers guys, I think cat back as I have no desire to have probs @MOT time. Mitz, as you know there is no desperate need but it will need changing sooner rather than later so Wales seems a good excuse to get it changed. Need to figure what sounds best resonated or un resonated Holiday to the Dordoigne in Feb so prob leave til after that. Probably should just leave my credit card at your place.
  17. Just booked for Wales so now thinking I probably "need" a new exhaust in time for May. Doesn't need to be anything too mad but a nice noise and can't break the bank - still recovering from clutch, wrap, coilovers etc. Any thoughts?
  18. Sorry, not clear from my message, booked fri and sat nights -double room, will travel home sometime sunday pm Thanks Graham, Looking forward to putting names and faces to some forum names, I'm sure the boss is only coming along to keep an eye on me, she didn't like the idea of a train trip to Chester!!
  19. Can't seem to figure the cut and paste function using my tablet so perhaps someone would be kind enough to add me. Davedutch +"the boss" 23rd &24th saturday and sunday drives plus hog roast. Graham, Eileen says she will phone you if she gets a minute to sort out hog roast, she expects to have fully booked later tonight or early tomorrow!! P.s. i've been told i can only come if i promise NOT to get any more points on my license-ha ha
  20. So much for my promise to myself not to spend any more on my zed until after my holiday. (That was meant to be June but as i'm driving to the Dordoigne (probably spelt that wrong) with the family mid Feb I might have to pretend I meant Feb) Put me down for one if it deff fits std de engine bay with no probs - i can wait for the group buy and i like the blue. It's starting to look like the only possible cure for zeditis is to sell the zed sorry, i know i shouldn't swear like that!!!
  21. I promise to go dry starting tomorrow I am sure glad tomorrow never comes coz i've got about sixty bottles of red wine to get through - maybe next week?
  22. Whackywill next year makes nine unless I am missing something! But regardless happy birthday to the forum.
  23. At the same time you contact finance co I would also talk to trading stds. Warranty isn't always everything. Sale of goods act says goods must be as described and fit for purpose, and a test of reasonableness can be applied I.e. you would resonably expect the engine to last longer than "x" miles. Sale of goods act covers used as well as new although the requirement of proof may differ but i am fairly sure during first six months supplier has to prove they are not at fault after six months you have to prove they are at fault. I recently got a garage to replace a clutch on an out of warranty used car. They may not be able to help but in my experience businesses behave differently once you mention sale of goods act and trading standards. Get some advice, it will cost you nothing and could save you a lot of money.
  24. Nice tin of chocs!!! Should keep you occupied for a while :)
