  1. I too could be up for this, 2015 gives plenty of planning time, totally agree with limit on drive time, perhaps a day less in Bormio to spend more days travelling rather than not enjoy trip. I drove to the Dordogne earlier this year from the tunnel in one day then spent the next two days there not wanting to do anything, broke the return leg up with an overnight at LeMans. That said, if you are organising, you set the agenda and timetable, it's up to the rest of us to accept your plan and join you or not. I will follow this closely and confirm once your plans are firmer. Good luck
  2. Count me in for this, will deff attend sunday and if the boss lets me have the whole weekend off will also be there saturday. I may be able to help out too so let me know what help you need.
  3. I've never had any dealings with you and don't think I have even been involved in any threads you have contributed to so nothing to be gained but, I can't see any threat in your comments what so ever, let this go, it's not worth getting into a dispute over, you have a lot of support here so just let people make up their own minds who is lying and who to trust.
  4. Commander, having read up on your last road trip I will look forward to following this one as well, Been trying to persuade my missus that a european road trip would be good but i'm having to build up slowly, so Wales this year and hopefully europe next year. Good luck with your preparations.
  5. Trust in Mitz, he's fair and always has a smile when he cleans out your bank account. I live in Derby and it's well worth the drive, but zeditis is an expensive "illness" with no known cure.
  6. Does this mean to own a z you have to be either a 20 something boy racer or having a midlife crisis? By the way i guess the above means i must be having a mid life crisis (age 48)
  7. Black forest etc would be appealing, take the train as its never going to be rough assuming sufficient clearance for zeds! But two days proably not long enough to make it reasonable, also like the suggestion of Scotland as a taster/ starter with some nice roads. You need to put dates and a route up then see who will commit but in principal sounds good to me.
  8. Simple solution, just turn the car upside down well someone had to say it!!! hope you manage to get filler bolt out soon, would hate to think you might damage diff due to lack of lube
  9. Glrnet, Have you decided on the hog roast yet? And do you need to know numbers for this? If so i will start your list - me plus 1 Counting down to this and almost hoping exhaust fails it's mot so i have to change it before May
  10. My contribution for what it's worth, Smiles per mile are what count so what will make you smile most? if you want it and can afford it do it, otherwise you will regret it and then resent your 350 From what you say you have plenty of projects in hand to keep you busy for now so the desire to mod should be held at bay long enough to enjoy the gtr then once the desire to mod starts to rear it's head get rid of the gtr and find another project car. Don't try to mod what you can't improve!! (realistically) good luck with whatever you choose cos only you can make the decision.
  11. As the speed awareness course cancels out the issuing of the penalty notice there is/ should be no requirement to notify your insurance co. I was categorically informed whilst on my course that there is no need to advise your insurer as in effect the offence is wiped. Most insurers wont load your insurance premium for 1 simple sp30 or similar, From personal experience, you don't tend to notice the flash of a speed camera but don't dispair most cameras don't have film in them, it's the mobile cameras you need to watch out for.
  12. Having spent a couple of hours fitting a standard double din touch screen head unit I don't envy Bob doing a non standard fit. Well done Bob, you are fast becoming the go to guy for 350Z head units.
  13. Buster, thanks for starting this thread and Ian, thanks for the idiot guide. Just fitted my head unit using this guide and it sounds great. Just off for a test drive (any excuse)
  14. Both are good points, safety and insurance must always be top priority. I just liked the idea and it seemed to work so well but as I said my skills are not high enough to undertake such an event and I suppose the risk is others feeling their ability is greater than it actually is. Perhaps this is not such a good idea but all ideas need to be put out there. I have been keen for a while to find something I can do to help a good cause, I like the xmas toy run for instance - just needs to involve more local hospitals
  15. Hi all, Just got back from family trip to France and stopped off at LeMans circuit to see museum etc, whilst there we paid to get into circuit and stumbled upon a charity cancer fundraiser, the French Lotus owners club had organised paid passenger laps round the circuit and the drivers weren't hanging around. Now i don't feel i have skills to actually do this safely or contacts to organise it but thought i would put it out as an idea if someone wants to pursue it, i would be more than happy to assist in any way.
  16. Surely interest is easier to gather with a location in mind and a location in the header stops the reading of posts that might be too far out of area, just a thought!
  17. I agree locations would help as would place names/post codes in headers for all meets, drive out in North East means nothing but including town would help decide if this is viable to attend.
  18. I think insurers are wary of tpft cover as anyone taking this option is possibly cutting corners elsewhere as well. My kids have found the cheapest option is to add me as named driver, and when I bought the zed as an extra car my insurers mirrored my ncb so this made it a no brainer. Finally, you dont accumulate no claims bonus so over time even less worthwhile.
  19. At least some fabric seats came with air bags! Mine had airbags now swopped for leather.
  20. Ian, really good finish, car must look even better now. I wouldn't have patience to try this.
  21. I agree with all the other posts, garage has no right to withhold your money, I've bought plenty of cars that only had one key, never got them any cheaper, garage usually say car only came in with one key and you choose if thats a deal breaker. Stick to your guns and demand money in full or you will go to trading standards. I take it you bought on finance, if so speak to finance co because dealer may be in breach of contract, if nothing else threat will shake up dealer. Good luck.
  22. Fellsteruk, look up kta in members and pm him. He has a few styles to choose from, i'm sure he will help
  23. Zeus, brushed alunimium with 350z and gear change etched into it. Briggsy, thanks for the link, my car is wrapped matt grey but am looking to tidy the interior and blue is a good colour, gaitoe and handbrake could be a good start, new head unit going in soon so that will help the new look.
  24. Hi, Kta has just informed me my new gear knob is on it's way, thinking I should change the gaitor at the same time and possibly inject some colour into the interior. Does anyone know where I can get a new gaitor and any thoughts on colour?
  25. Plenty of twats in the world, don't let them egg you into doing something you may regret. We have all been there and probably all wanted to give the idiot a good "talking to" but getting into an arguement can get out of hand very quickly.
