  1. Faster than an Maclaren on track, and faster than a GTR on the road! Not sure how to embed youtube videos so here's the link: Oh it embedded it anyway -
  2. That's pretty cool I have to say!
  3. Welcome to the intoxicating world of 350z ownership! If you do change the exhaust, do it properly and get a full system!
  4. Welcome and enjoy your new car! It's an exciting time for anyone getting their new car, more so when it's something like a 350Z which is a great all-rounder. They're not 'set your pants on fire' quick, but they've got a decent bit of grunt, and in my opinion handle beautifully for the fatties that they are. They're a great GT - they chew up the miles, you're comfortable doing it, they've got enough power to put a grin on your face, and even more they have a lovely V6 which once you've let it breathe becomes intoxicating (not done it to mine yet!). However they also look 'cool' - and have aged well in my opinion, and once you've sorted it out to make it 'yours' it becomes a lovely place to be and you never want to leave!
  5. Evo magazine always loves it and I prefer their reviews. However, it won 2004 Top Gear car of the year - so they must have liked it. Hammond is a fan of the 350Z. I prefer his opinion anyway
  6. :D I never do illegal I do have steering controls and for me at least it's quite useful to have as I prefer it so that incartech kit should keep them operating. Thanks for the feedback.
  7. Hi all, I'm doing this bit by bit so starting off with just getting the head unit. I know the speakers could probably do with being upgraded - but one thing at a time! I'm thinking of getting this HU: http://caraudiosecurity.com/xav-601bt-6-1-double-din-dvd-usb-screen-bluetooth Presumably this kit is the one I need for my Zed? http://incartec.co.uk/nissan/1929/1034/2057/78/Browser.aspx It does everything I need (I quite like the mirror link feature), bluetooth is important (will the steering wheel controls work?), it's got decent power (4x52W) and importantly a front USB port. Is there anything else I need to consider? That really is the maximum I'm willing to spend. Cheers, Will
  8. I'd be interested in pics. Not in a position to buy a new HU yet, but will definitely be doing it at some point.
  9. I wouldn't stay in a resort all inclusive thing if you paid me, but do what you want. I went back there in 2006 I think, and spent 3 weeks travelling around and staying in casa particulares. Spent time in Havana, Vinales, Cienfuegos, Tinidad, and a few other places. We did pop over to Varadero for a day trip, but wasn't bothered by it. It's a fab place, so much to see, so much culture, history, and it's so beautiful and interesting. The people are fab too. I you like rum you'll be in heaven too! Have a fantastic holiday!
  10. Being half French I approve of this thread! I've just come back from the east of France where there are some epic mountain roads to drive around in!
  11. Yes! And you need to take some nice pics of the car too!
  12. Oh I'm taking it very easy as I get used to her weight and everything. The noise is intoxicating. In the 15+ years I've been driving, I've owned some nice metal (including motorbikes) but the zed is exactly what I was looking for in a car, comfort, style, and a little poke. Living in London though I don't get much chance to get her out, so I now know what weekends will be about! And yes, I heard Azure blue was the fastest/best colour Thanks all - glad to be part of the family!
  13. For fear of received Ekona's wrath of posting stock pics, I'll just link to my new (to me) Azure Blue GT. 70k miles, fully services, apart from a few tiny little imperfections on the bodywork (you have to look for them) it's in great nick. Love it. Had a bit of fun with ESP off, but don't worry, will be leaving it on! I can already feel zeditis creeping in, but I have to let the bank balance recover first! MAny thanks to Greg (Myfairladyz) who helped me get my mits on her. Her she is:
  14. You should come up to my office - despite having to shoot through a window - I reckon you'll get some good shots
  15. When I finally buy my Zed - I'll post some stock pics just for you!
  16. Actually read a scientific report put together in the US where it is legal to use a mobile phone and they concluded that there is no link between an increase in road accidents and use of a mobile phone. This was only published last week, but it won't make big news will it, as it doesn't suit the ministry of making more money out of motorists. There are a million and one things to distract a driver, stereo, sat nav, using rear view mirror, looking at the scenery etc etc It is more distracting if your texting on your phone while driving than actually talking, at least if you were talking you are looking at the road and not your handset.. Similar research has been done in the uk and Europe showing that the standard of driving is worse than if you're just over the limit of blood alcohol....
  17. Not true. Ive told my insurers Adrian flux about both my in car tracker and camera set-up and they note I have it, but that it makes no change at all to my policy. I think what he meant was if you decided to give it a bit of welly somewhere then there's proof of you being naughty, should the police stop you. Yup.
  18. I never take it for granted that flashing lights means 'I'm letting you out' - always wary of what's around. I'm also not a fan of cameras though I suppose they can help bolster a statement? I don't mind cameras for capturing a fun drive, but it could also lead to having it used against you! I think it sets a bit of an ugly precedent too.
  19. Great write up. Making me think already of things I want to do when I finally get mine! Looks really smart. Did you manage to fit that sub in the same space as the Bose one by modifying the hole or was it a straight fit? Love the carbon fibre - is that just a wrap?
  20. I found a quote from Axa and Admiral and they matched it and beat it and added more "benefits". However it is such a lottery it seems, some companies will insure me others just laugh at me. Which is frustrating with my years of experience and 0 claims or points Ah well.... Next year hopefully should see a cheaper premium!
