  1. Typical, spoke too soon. Just come home from work, got up out of a chair earlier and nearly fell over, my back just went, so currently walking in a very strange stance. Really cheesed off but going to remain hopeful it is going to repair really quickly, like for tomorrow. I need to go to work !! So frustrating. ! Not happy !!
  2. I feel for you. Been there many a time, I am just praying I have mine sorted. I hope you back gets better very soon and you are able to enjoy longer days at the wheel.
  3. Stu, glad you enjoyed it, I love the northern Countries, especially for the winter toys, sports and food. That was alot of driving.......... you must be shattered now. As said before shame about the speed limits Suggest you look at Iceland next - the toys are even bigger !!
  4. Tarting it about aren't you ? First Shelsey Welsh Hill Climb Report, now Fast Cars Mag........where next ?? !! Proud Moments of your efforts - well done !
  5. I am totally in love with them, stunning looks, best handling Porsche !! What more could you want ? Just can't quite get one just yet - sadly ? !!
  6. I thought they were bad here, but went to Barnsley and Hull in the last month. OMG so much worse there !
  7. '........................strange that basic politics isn't part of the national curriculum?' And that is the exact reason we have so many people who know little.
  8. OMG, How awful. I really feel for you. Such a sad Zed. Plus on way to your wedding - Quite unbelievable............. nightmare situation. However, as said before, glad you are both ok - relatively !! If I may suggest - you get to your doctors asap and into Physio - for a check up - to just ensure and capturing quickly any slight bone incorrect alignments. Could save years of pain.
  9. I was wondering if you had some time for some Ice Driving yesterday, so glad you have. I have always been on the opposite side of the country to where they are located and to take a trip especially is horrendously expensive. I have always been amazed at the driving speeds in the conditions. I presume you have already checked the differing tyres they use. Have to admit now we have blue skies and some warm here it is nice, but still envious of your travels. Be safe and enjoy
  10. Certainly look forward to more pics and hearing about this trip. Been a fair few times now - usually in mid winter, love it up there. Yes, desperatly cold, but also so fresh and quiet. Better than a hot beach holiday all day long for me. Spitsburgen a leap North from Norway is well worth a visit too. Ferry needed though !!! It's over 12 months since I did a cold holiday and missing it badly. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
  11. Whew - I thought that Nissan Leaf was going to be turning up here too !!!!
  12. My 1996 VW Corrado VR6 hopefully. I am only the 2nd owner and owned her 14 years. She's currently on 205,000 miles. I fully intend to keep using her though. Although she does have the garage for shelter.
  13. Would I take my Jap car or my German car.?? Actually might have no choice, German car will possibly still be In Bodyshop !!
  14. Certainly looks interesting and just down the road from me.
  15. I love Donnington too, especially for watching Bike racing in the flesh and driving. Infact think I am going to arrange a trip to one of the circuits for some Bike action - not been for a while. Off to check out Moto GP. Must be time I went to Brands not been for a few good years, last time was DTM a few years back. Now can't wait to watch the Donnington BTCC from yesterday. Good job I got my shed and garage cleared out yesterday. !!
  16. I admitt it, I fell asleep, that was soooooooooooooooo boring, has to be one of the worst ever. Couple of good overtaking manoeuvres, but I am glad I also decided to watch the BTCC series this year. Recorded it all yesterday, so some good evening viewing this week.
  17. And...........where, did the sun go. Maybe not the best for washing and waxing the car, but still cheery and warmer. Cloudy and cold here today.
  18. I am going back to bed, I don't think I can face the world anymore. !! That car, I'm sorry, is so UGLY !!!! How can you enjoy driving it - it's ugly !!!! How did you part with hard earned cash for it - it's ugly ? I would be wearing a paper bag over my head that's for sure !! Whew !! Each to their own as they say. !!! Thank goodness there is lots of choice out there, something for everyone.
  19. All I am saying is - I am not getting any quotes of £1500 - £2000 barr one at £1800 and I have done my homework. I have checked with a good 10 of so people who have in 2013/14 had the same level of work and respray, all are saying between 3 - 4k and I am being quoted just that. The only one I found who was offering the stunning nature of work you mentioned and is very highly thought of for Show Level finishes, had planted himself high on a Pedestral - and quoting near on 5k - ex VAT and litlle customer service !!! I don't put down all back street businesses, not at all, just some !!! There is also a difference in businesses, those that are run as hobbies and those that wish to be more profitable especially in the car trade. Besides location and related overheads and VAT make a huge difference to all this. Did you/ Do you wear a short skirt and flatter your eyelashes to get these prices ?? !!!! If so, that's where I went wrong !! What location are you and this Bodyshop in ?
  20. Watching the processes actually gave me more confidence to try and solve some interior issues I have on my Corrado. Don't know why I have been so afraid, easier than the engine and running gear !!! I thought the Testing process they carried out before the final delivery was also really interesting especially as I had been thinking - How do they test these with so many elements carried out individually and by humans to each car. Of course so much of the top end of Motorsport is filtering through now. Really did make me want to go and explore the Factory. Reminds me .......Need to check what is going on with Lotus visit that was being planned. I rarely understand much and so have many questions, but I do find it all so interesting. The comment of 'one bad production car - that did not sell would probably finish the company' was quite scary but also the reasoning behind the quality of the product. A good show.
  21. When was this - when you had this respray for just over 2k ? I have in the last 2 months visited 6 Bodyshops, only one was that kind of price and I was not filled with confidence there. Obvioulsy there are a variety of 'types of resprays', for what is and is not included, plus the Customer Service aspect. I am not thinking of a car that is fully prepared and just requiring a respray. But one that needs the full prep work, treatments of small amounts of rust, primers, windows out, doors off, lights out, Various door and roof rubbers removing and replacing bumpers off, under sealing, Low Bake ovens. etc etc. Plus differing Bodyshop garages - ones in an alleyways and tucked away tiny units, where you cannot imagine a car coming out without a mass of dust in the paintwork, onto top of the range workshops in locations where the building cost a fortune to buy or rent and there is not an inch of dust or dirt anywhere. At the end of the day, it is all down to what each individual is happy with anyway.
  22. Did anyone watch last night's show ? Brilliant show, I loved it. All about the production at Gaydon of the Aston Martin. The piece regarding how they produce that exhaust sound - was just genius !! Many years ago I visited the Newport Pagnell factory. They used to have few open days when a new model was released Have a real urge to now visit the Gaydon one now and to drive one. Just which one ?
  23. A full respray for £1500-£2000 really ? !!! I don't think so. I would not want that job on my car. Twice that maybe. That price is not enough,to cover material, overheads and pay someone a decent rate per hour. Doors would not come off, windows out etc etc etc
