  1. Trust me, if I could use a 2 stroke screaming 250 motorcross bike on the trails i use, I would But if its got a place in the world, i suppose a bike is the one
  2. I still have my regular mountain bike that i will use, but about 25-30 miles is my limit offroad, this just adds another dimension to where i can go, i.e travel further afield and take in more sights/tracks, beach and sandy trails and the assist is only there should you want to turn it on, you dont have to use it, so in theory i will be going further but still doing the same exercise. A friend bought one who is a similar fitness to me, he did 45 miles the other day and said he definitely felt it the next day, its very easy to see it as "cheating", but it isnt, you still have to pedal to get the output, i was very sceptical until i had a go on one and then it made sense, well it did to me
  3. Yeah, relatively new thing and called fat bikes, great for sand, snow etc they are 26 x 4.0 about twice as wide as a normal mountain bike tyre
  4. 250w Assisted pedalling up to 18mph as thats the legal limit, however, you can delimit them up to 30mph
  5. Not the kind you were all thinking though and i dont feel ashamed, but will be getting dirty on it
  6. And what happens when technology goes wrong or the system fails, the driver relying on it to possibly save his life, shocking idea if you ask me....
  7. Accelerating to 60 in under 5, 4 or 3 seconds isnt in the least bit dangerous, pointless, but not dangerous, nor is driving at over 70mph or above, it all depends on circumstance. If cars are becoming automated, then the road network also needs to be to make it viable and at the point its all automated, i agree, you might as well be on a train. Abs, esp etc etc are all driver aids that assist, not replace the driver.
  8. Maybe in 50 years time when ALL cars have it, great, until then and the car behind hasnt got it, your still crashing, doesnt make it any better its not your fault.
  9. Speed is deceptive imo, you soon get used to a speed your doing, accelerate off a slip road up to 70mph on a motorway and it seems fast, 5 miles later and it feels dog slow and its the same reagrdless of what speed your doing. Get yourself onto a quiet motorway and hold a constant 70 without looking at the speedo or rev counter, I will bet 5 or 10 miles down the road your not wont still be doing 70.
  10. So how long do we give before the, readvertised due to time waster or non paying bidder speil, within a week?
  11. How much would you bet its not relisted by the same seller?
  12. Not much you can do except use a decent quality oil and keep a check on the level and follow the service schedule.
  13. Looking to increase, basically weighing up the options on the R33, try something else next year and work upto an R35 (I know I'll lose on that) but just to have owned one. They seem pretty safe at the moment, been about the same price for 2 years and whilst the price keeps increasing on new models, cant see them getting much cheaper 2nd hand. Really not sure there is much to actually make money on, unless you have mega bucks to buy in the first place. Or just do what you have done, buy from Japan, not through a importer though and subsequently loose their mark up, register it, use it for a few months and sell on. Interestingly enough i spoke to a buyer i know in Japan, r35's are still the same money over there as they are here sadly S2000's are a good bet, late model Rx7's also
  14. Apparently some are selling for that or there abouts now Edit or should i say advertised
  15. Bet you still wish you had the VXR220, think they are selling for more than they were new
  16. Are you looking for something to enjoy and not loose too much, or something thats going to increase? I think you will be pretty safe with your GTR though
  17. 2007 I had an rx7, although I cant quite remember which one out of the 5 I had. 2017 guess I will still have the VX and I have no idea what I will be driving in 2027 if I am still here, but there are a few things I would like to own in between now and then: Gtr, if things go well a Gallardo and if things go really well a 458.
  18. I hate to say it Bobby, but isnt it supposed to sit flush at the bottom of the bootlid, only reading from another thread on here, compliments the car well though.
  19. I should imagine overtaking will be the biggest drawback, growing your hair long and wearing leather isnt too much fun either
  20. I like the idea of flat foot shifting, particularly on a track car the rest seems a bit gimmicky for me
  21. I Two completely different things, they have given you an estimate, not a quote. As Tricky says above, until they have the car and bumper and know what they are up against, expect the price to change, unless its oem which should be fairly straightforward to give you a proper quote. i.e i was quoted £350 to fit and paint a rt performance bumper by my usual trustworthy sprayer, once they saw the issues needed to get correct fitment, that went up to £550. Sorry but you are kind of asking, how long is a piece of string because of the unknown quantities P.s No mention of material costs in there (paint, masking tape and other things required).
  22. The cicra 20hp or so that mapping adds really wont be a game changer or completely change engine characteristics, it will just be where the cams come on song, you will probably find its just road conditions causing it to spin up, I wouldnt think are any cars with 300hp ish where you can just put your foot to the floor in winter without the same result.
