    Pending MOT

If it has no cats its an instant fail (cats must be present if they were fitted as std), personally if your happy with decats i would just buy some std cats and swap them back in come mot time as hfc's are not guaranteed to pass.
  2. I must admit i didnt think my v3 lacked any grunt low to mid rpms, it pulled like a train really. Pretty sure from memory of my dyno graph, it was making 250 ft lbs (which isnt much less than peak on a na 350) at just over 2k prm and just over 350 ft lbs at 7k prm, you arent going to get a much flater torque curve than that, if you worried about hp/boost just change the pulley size, i really cant see the Stillen is going to offer anything better. I seem to remember the hks supercharger offering more torque, but no idea where in the rev range. Found it, dont think that looks half bad to me
  3. Are we not talking about the stillen twin screw supercharger for the 350?
  4. I was very interested in the Stillen when I first got into 350's, for the whine, lol, but after some research it was pretty clear they dont even come close to Vortech In terms of overall performance. I ended up with a V3 and have to say my experience couldnt have been any different to what your describing, loads of torque from low down and good power across the revs. If you want to change where it makes full boost, change the pulley size, but then you wont get as much output, any particular reason why you want full boost in low/mid?
  5. If its std shocks and you thinks its harsh going down to 17's for extra rubber really wont make too much difference, consider some coilovers that are dampening adjustable, you could also spec spring weights if you want to soften it further.
  6. I used to have a classic motorbike, no lovely 12volt system, it was 6v and the rear brake light was as bright as burning cigarette, the tinted rear lights on my 350 could be seen without issue, go for a light smoke film, you will have no trouble, will try and get a photo up later so you can see the effect. Hope that helps.
  7. If your rebuilding anyway, apart from the extra cost of forged bits, the labour shouldnt be much more, but still not a cheap process and without stating the obvious, can you afford to loose circa £10k plus as you will never see it back when the car is sold.
  8. They did say they dont want to insult you, they dont see a car, they see a lump of 10 or so year old metal that they have money tied up in, its just a numbers game, I wouldnt even give it a 2nd thought.
  9. I used tinting film on front, rear and indicators etc, very happy, passed mot no problem, not like they actually measure the output, just alignment.
  10. Tarmac did bring one in but wasnt happy with the quality so exercise caution wherever you buy.
  11. 255 on a 8.5 is recommended maximum. http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/charts/tire-width-for-a-wheel-rim-size-chart
  12. You really want an ester synthetic (grade 5), i am not sure if castrol edge is.
  13. A long time ago after seeing an old biddy bump into my car a couple of times from a window where i worked i raced down to get her details, apparently thats what bumpers are for.......according to her
  14. The cold is a killer for batteries, maybe the low temps have finished it off, 50 quid for a new one
  15. Amazing to think an exhaust and alloys is going to turn a 58 yr old disabled man (no offence intended) into a reckless yoof overnight So when do you plan your first street race Bytespc
  16. So it could have something like 400hp , Keyser runs a stock box on his charged 370 at 500+ hp without issue oh and no additional cooling
  17. With a 75 or 100 shot of nos it will I agree it looks a bit busy but they are all vents and probably needed for improved airflow and I presume the round one is for cooling too. The problem is you dont really need increased airflow on a std engine.
  18. I wonder if the merc ego wagon will surface, are they going to happy with a points finisher to guarantee them the constructors and put their eggs in one basket for the champ or are they going to want to keep their mostly 1, 2 dominance going. I think Hamilton will be happy with anyone, but I would bet my left nut he would prefer someone who wont challenge him too hard, I wonder if its even discussed with him.
  19. I wouldnt suggest a 58 year old with 25 years no claims was a risk and thats basically what they are calculating.
  20. So i wonder who Merc really want and i wonder who Hamilton really wants??
  21. Was going to get a sneaky £10 on Alonso for the win (before a possible move), best odds 29.1, jeez the grid would have self destruct every race for a maclaren to win, thats poor odds. Hulk at 250:1 though
  22. ^^ The Hulk wouldnt be a bad shout, how about a full team of whingers, get Vettel in there
  23. ^^ Good on him, achieved what he set out to do and retired on a high Verstappen, please please please
  24. I find you learn a lot at trackdays, whilst not actively trying to push past the limits and control them, you just get to find out where those limits are. So it all depends what you want to achieve, find out the cars limits and perhaps yours, push past those limits and control the car in the event of a slide, or you want to provoke the car into a slide and in that order it would be, trackdays, car control/handling course or a learn to drift.
