  1. Thanks! The menzerna power finish and the megs 7" soft buff pad. I wanted to use a 3 inch cutting pad but I don't have a 3" backing plate yet as they were out of stock. Think this just made it take longer and also require a greater amount of masking around the light! 7" is far too big for this job (ooh errr).
  2. I've changed my mind too. This is how I see myself at the golf club.
  3. If we're doing fish, can I show off my favourite catch ever please? It's not the biggest I've caught but it is the most dangerous. Please note the high tech equipment on show, real men fish with a stick and some raw chicken PIRANHA! :scare: We were somewhere in the jungle, just outside Manaus (now of World Cup fame) and had spent the afternoon swimming in the Amazon. The guide said it was time for a spot of piranha fishing, so we got out the water, got in the boat and set off. After we got about 20 feet from the floating lodge where we'd been swimming, he stopped the boat and said right let's start fishing. Much to our horror it was about 3 minutes before someone pulled the first one out of the water :scare: . Needless to say, I didn't go back in for a dip after that... The funniest thing was, when he was handling another one he caught, and trying to show us the teeth (and they are HUGE for the size of animal) he dropped it in the tiny wooden boat we were in. The fish was flapping about snapping away, we were all barefoot and trying to climb over each other to get out the way, all the time terrified the boat would capsize and dump us in with it's angry relatives. A swift machete blow restored calm.
  4. My headlights have been a bit foggy at the top end since I bought her, I had a bit of a go with the Meg's kit and a drill about 6 months ago, but it didn't really get me very far. It's been bugging me for ages, but i must admit I've been putting off having a go at them due to sheer terror of making a mess of the expensive light unit. Anyway, thanks to Wasso for some pointers and also making me believe it was going to be a nice easy 5 minute job. To add to my already decent levels of fear it was also my first use of a DA, so I had to pop on my special brown underwear. Fortunately though, they came up a treat, well pleased and I wish I'd done it ages ago! In addition to learning a bit about my DA and a bit about headlight restoration, I also learnt that you can't be too careful with latex. Just remember kids, rubber is no guarantee of protection and make sure you don't leave unwanted DNA behind. Always wear two pairs when you're out on a 'date'.
  5. I did not know it stayed on... RUNS OUTSIDE UNPLUGS RUNS INSIDE Thanks fellas!!!
  6. I tickled the 90db limit at croft at with my 'quiet' scorpion + hfcs, as for the drive by I just backed right off as I went through the section, it was nicely situated before a slow bend anyway.
  7. I blew my expected times in the Swiss Alps, kept having to stop for photos! It's a brilliant place to drive, possibly the best driving anywhere off a track.
  8. ^^^^^^^ They look sweet! ^^^^^^^
  9. As it's apple there'll be a cheaper looking and feeling android version along shortly after
  10. I checked my two sources, both missing. Grrrr. Google says: P1275 - Nissan Type Powertrain - Manufacturer Controlled DTC - Manufacturer Controlled Description Air fuel (AF) ratio sensor 1 - response time Cause HO2S, AF sensor, fuel pressure, injectors, intake air leak, exhaust leak, MAF sensor PS - google isn't always right. If this gets confirmed I'll update the PDF.
  11. I think it had just stopped being my turn to drive
  12. That's me, the pacific and some airport rental they palmed me off with. I was devo'd they didn't have a Camaro with 'station wagon' wood effect finish

The precision is mainly about personal pride in doing a job, any job, really well. I think the secret is in the perfect size and resistance to bite, the correct amount of sugar dusting with even sugar distribution (no clagging), then turning the jam machine up two notches when the boss isn't looking I always wanted to make one the size of a football...

My first job was high volume, precision donut manufacturing, I specialised in putting the jam in (don't ask it's a trade secret). At last a project I can contribute on, when we starting production?
  18. Great Zed & along.

  21. I've used the iobd2 with my iPhone, mainly to get and clear codes from my O2 sensors. It works fine for that. At first I tried to use it also for live data, just because it can really, but I found the connection to be a touch unstable. However, they've done a few updates in the last few months and stability is good. It gives me read outs from the O2 sensors live, not that I have any idea what they're supposed to be I've not got round to checking the workshop manual. On mine it eems two like to be around 0.3v and two around 0.7v FWIW Not tried torque yet.
  22. Classic bird of prey for me, with the fire whilst cloaked mod
  23. They're not as hard going as you think! Find the one for your model/year then go straight for the EC pdf. It's Engine Control. I had a little look but not much more than what Kyle's put. Sounds like they may be useful in future though, with your luck so far. I'm sure a decent Zed specialist or Jap specialist near you can get it checked out licketysplit. Good luck.
  24. Sorry not to be more helpful, but there boot loads of manual stuff here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/350Z/ I'm sure one of the actually knowledgable people will be along shortly.
  25. Take a camera, you know what we want
