Another zed bites the dust :( [update -replacement zed pics pg3]
Stutopia replied to Squee's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Gutted, what a pi$$er. Sounds like a really unfortunate set of circumstances conspiring against you. Hope you get a decent amount of new Zed cash. Glad you're unscathed. -
I picked up some bits for our anniversary a while back and today I got her back from the body shop. Thanks to Tarmac for the spats, Ersen for the LGW and John at St Anne's Bodywork Centre for making everything so nicely and of course the colour coding. Can't speak highly enough of the service there. I think this nicely balances things up all round now, with the diffuser now having some company around the back. As you can imagine I'm extremely pleased with the result and, barring a moment of weakness involving a bulge bonnet, that's it for the exterior, definitely nothing more, probably. All shot outside the home of football.

AMMO Products Test (more like used then reported on)
Stutopia replied to Stutopia's topic in Car Detailing
I should reiterate I used the armourall shield on top of the skin defense, for the last photo, which contributes to the gloss and is, in itself, a very good and extremely well priced product, which is stupidly easy to work with. http://www.amazon.co...aw/d/B008IO9M7C Here's a little pic of the bead from th other morning, real rain, not a misting job. This is the AMMO Skin > Armour All Shield > Dod Red Mist Combo I like it, nice n tight. -

I've been pleased so far, but only applied two layers. It doesn't repel mud as such but it does make the results after a hand wash appear a very slick clean. With the international shipping fees and import duty, you'd have to order quite a lot of product to make it worth while. It's not so much different from the other sealant (poorboys) I've tried to warrant the increased expense and delivery time. I only went for it because I really wanted to find out what the products were like having really enjoyed the drive clean videos. -

The long big brush is great for getting inside the wheel, the small angled brush is very good for the calliper and behind spokes. I've recently bought a wheel mitt which is perfect for getting in there really deep and also the lip. Very Nice Zed good to see you're pretty happy so far. I too have scorpion exhaust, it's the quietest of the aftermarket options by all accounts, however the sound on mine has been transformed by the addition of a Berks HFCs. It's not got that low down grumble (I think you need two more cylinders for that ) but it sounds much better for them when I put my foot in, and also when I come off the gas. There's loads of options for more exhaust drama, so see a few other Zeds and see if there's a set up out there that makes a bit more of the noise you'd like. There's some extremely good traders too, so you won't be short on ideas for long. -
Recommendations for exterior black plastic revival
Stutopia replied to Randy_Baton's topic in Car Detailing
The heat gun/hair dryer works well, mental! Wonder if it lasts? Any damage any one does is their own fault, not youtube's or mine -
along bud. Zed prices seem to be quite dependent on colour, if you've got the pockets to respray and really want it you're in a really nice position as you're able to pick the best car you can without the colour/price/personal desireability trade off to weigh up. Good luck with your search.

I'm pretty conservative in the mod stakes, so super aggressive is not generally my personal thing, but some cars that really go fully balls out, can really work. As it's a work in progress anything could happen from here. The right spoiler, right wheels, any stubby (every Zed should have one), maybe even some quality downlighting (sorry if that's too f&f for some but it's the kind of car that could carry it off done right) and it's defo gonna turn heads. The two tone is actually my only real objection, all in black or midnight purple or some other single extreme colour and it could be pretty rude. Fair play for posting up and not running off after the initial few pages of comments If you smile when you drive it and when you look at it, I say do it. It'll be interesting to see where you get to when you're finished (as if you can ever actually finish a zed ) good luck and keep the photos coming. I've got some exterior mods going on this week, don't know whether to post them now after some of the comments :scare:

Was it this thread GMB? http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/81512-limp-mode-with-all-braking-lights/
-
I've tried to engage it before and the cruise light flashes quickly and it refuses to engage. Next time I've started it it's been fine. On the thread I started at the time, resting a foot on the clutch was suggested as a potential cause (along with faulty microswitches), but it wasn't the case when I experienced it.

Help! Recurrence of o2 sensor EML - with new codes
Stutopia replied to Stutopia's topic in 350Z Technical
Yes, I would but it's the other end of the country sadly. Totally agree, but on this occasion I wasn't there to see for myself, so I can only go on what's been advised to me. I don't have the equipment to get under it safely myself at home to have a proper look. I'm trying to get into my usual tech, but he's very busy. -
Help! Recurrence of o2 sensor EML - with new codes
Stutopia replied to Stutopia's topic in 350Z Technical
I get 4 of the same codes as yourself P1146 P1166 P1147 P1167, these come up fairly frequently, sometimes not all of them at once. I also have berks hfcs, a scorpion, and an Uprev. From what I have read it is safe to run, but spacers may help? I've not got my spacers fitted my tech had some issues fitting them (if you can believe that!) so I'm currently trying to get booked in with my usual guy to see if he can sort it. I am hopeful that if I can get the spacers on, this will put it to bed. If you do pick some spacers up and it resolves your codes (as expected) I'd be very grateful if you post up on here, given we have the same set up. On the positive side I have no evidence to suggest it's causing issues beyond the irritating EML and the O2 sensors are getting lightly toasted due to the extra heat. -

Only just seen this, great cause. -
I got a, "that car's proper sick" the other day when I was washing the Zed. I think you can tell from the vocabulary the age of the lady in question... I did pull up at the main gate at work recently to find another GM zed in the gate office space. To my surprise, I wound down the window to compliment the vintage lady driver on her excellent taste. I know, that's well 007, yeah? Wasn't even my idea, the Zed made me do it
-
Totally true. I didn't mean to be down on BMW, I love engineering and they've certainly got it, just not that x factor for me. Having said that, I saw a Z4 M tear up the track at Croft last year and it was astonishing, so maybe one day...

That or from a transit van...

I could've kept up with it in the Zed to about 170, but it probably would've pulled away from there.
