  1. I'm using ferodo ds2500 pads, they seem good to me from cold and under spirited conditions. Loads of options though that are sexier than OEM, check out cougarstore, Tarmac, Clark's and h-dev just for a starter , I'm sure there's more too. If you're doing pads and discs I think braided lines and updated fluid at the same time would make sense. Have fun, you're going to have loads to choose from.
  2. There's a selection of codes in this thread that my O2 sensors have thrown. If your up in Aberdeen you must be spoilt for choice, seems like everyone up there has a zed But seriously I bet the great team at Clark Motorsport can help you. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77029-help-recurrence-of-o2-sensor-eml-with-new-codes/
  3. That sounds really useful. A few times I've planned routes on google maps and wanted to 'drop them' into my satnav. I end up needing a list of postcodes or gps coordinates if I want to plan a special route.
  4. I'd say microfibre pads would be too aggressive myself, but if your technique is good this can be compensated for. Is there any reason why you'd want to go for microfibre over foam pads? No special reason, just curious, seen them used a few times on detailing videos and that.
  5. It looks like Some sort of Garmin. Possibly the Garmin 2598 LMT-D http://www.johnlewis...d=c&tmcampid=73 It has the Lifetime maps, bluetooth, 5" etc just what i require also if i can plan routes via dripping in coordinates then that's just great. Thanks all for your advise. That's not the exact one I meant but it looks to be similar or an upgrade. As per one of the comments above, strongly advise you to play with a real one in a shop before ordering online. See if you like the UI and the touchscreen etc. (same for any gadget really)
  6. Got a garmin nuvi something in piano black. Looks smart, gets you there, decent sized screen, can add celebrity voices It has all Europe maps, speed cam stuff for fixed and known mobile hotspots (watch this in France) and I get updates for life. Touch screen is resistive not capacitive so can be a bit clunky. UI is fine but nothing to jizz off about, I think it has Bluetooth but I'm not sure what that's for. I picked Garmin simply because they've been at it for years at sea. It sometimes gets a bit confused but it's never got me lost or driven into a river or other such Daily Mail tale of woe. It was awesome in Switzerland as I could dump coordinates into it for the tops of the passes, but I'm sure other devices may do that too. Would recommend as 4 star of 5.
  7. That's a good price. Where is that and how long are you Camaro-less?
  8. If the swirls bug you, but you can't splash out on a DA right now, get some soft hand pads and a decent glaze, it'll hide the swirls (a bit), then bang some wax on top (again this will help hide them too). It won't correct, it'll minimise. Obviously when you're just putting 'make up' on it doesn't make for a natural beauty, but it can make something look a lot better.
  9. Anyone tried the megs microfibre pads? They look decent but worried they might be a bit aggressive for the soft paint?
  10. That beast looks like all kinds of fun. Any video from the little cam?
  11. along! I used an AA inspection when I bought mine, as I was living in a new area and didn't have a friendly tech or knowledgable zed owner on hand. TBF, for an inspection where they don't actually poke stuff, just look at it, it's a decent service. Two negatives for me; (1) they provide no guarantees, so if they say it's sweet then it explodes next week, you don't get anything back, (2) it's not exactly cheap. All in all, I used the AA report to leverage getting a few jobs done on the car before I bought it, so it very nearly paid for itself. However, if it comes back saying it's a dog, then you obviously ain't gonna buy it. I'd use it again as a last resort, but you're better off with a friendly tech or knowledgable member. Good luck in the hunt.
  12. Check the link I just added to previous post, click on his avatar and select compose message
  13. Edit : scratch that comment, had a brain melt. Sorry. +1 for PM Steve @ redline http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/57177-genuine-nismo-carbon-fiber-shift-knob-in-stock/
  14. The rear looks awesome, just not a fan of the front. Yeah, it's a total Minaj
  15. Just saw this when I was picking up some bits. It's so fit I don't know if the car or the detailing gets me wetter. Actually, I do, it's the car. Mega soz, if repost!
  16. Thanks! The menzerna power finish and the megs 7" soft buff pad. I wanted to use a 3 inch cutting pad but I don't have a 3" backing plate yet as they were out of stock. Think this just made it take longer and also require a greater amount of masking around the light! 7" is far too big for this job (ooh errr).
  17. I've changed my mind too. This is how I see myself at the golf club.
  18. If we're doing fish, can I show off my favourite catch ever please? It's not the biggest I've caught but it is the most dangerous. Please note the high tech equipment on show, real men fish with a stick and some raw chicken PIRANHA! :scare: We were somewhere in the jungle, just outside Manaus (now of World Cup fame) and had spent the afternoon swimming in the Amazon. The guide said it was time for a spot of piranha fishing, so we got out the water, got in the boat and set off. After we got about 20 feet from the floating lodge where we'd been swimming, he stopped the boat and said right let's start fishing. Much to our horror it was about 3 minutes before someone pulled the first one out of the water :scare: . Needless to say, I didn't go back in for a dip after that... The funniest thing was, when he was handling another one he caught, and trying to show us the teeth (and they are HUGE for the size of animal) he dropped it in the tiny wooden boat we were in. The fish was flapping about snapping away, we were all barefoot and trying to climb over each other to get out the way, all the time terrified the boat would capsize and dump us in with it's angry relatives. A swift machete blow restored calm.
  19. My headlights have been a bit foggy at the top end since I bought her, I had a bit of a go with the Meg's kit and a drill about 6 months ago, but it didn't really get me very far. It's been bugging me for ages, but i must admit I've been putting off having a go at them due to sheer terror of making a mess of the expensive light unit. Anyway, thanks to Wasso for some pointers and also making me believe it was going to be a nice easy 5 minute job. To add to my already decent levels of fear it was also my first use of a DA, so I had to pop on my special brown underwear. Fortunately though, they came up a treat, well pleased and I wish I'd done it ages ago! In addition to learning a bit about my DA and a bit about headlight restoration, I also learnt that you can't be too careful with latex. Just remember kids, rubber is no guarantee of protection and make sure you don't leave unwanted DNA behind. Always wear two pairs when you're out on a 'date'.
  20. I did not know it stayed on... RUNS OUTSIDE UNPLUGS RUNS INSIDE Thanks fellas!!!
  21. I tickled the 90db limit at croft at with my 'quiet' scorpion + hfcs, as for the drive by I just backed right off as I went through the section, it was nicely situated before a slow bend anyway.
  22. I blew my expected times in the Swiss Alps, kept having to stop for photos! It's a brilliant place to drive, possibly the best driving anywhere off a track.
  23. As it's apple there'll be a cheaper looking and feeling android version along shortly after
  24. I checked my two sources, both missing. Grrrr. Google says: P1275 - Nissan Type Powertrain - Manufacturer Controlled DTC - Manufacturer Controlled Description Air fuel (AF) ratio sensor 1 - response time Cause HO2S, AF sensor, fuel pressure, injectors, intake air leak, exhaust leak, MAF sensor PS - google isn't always right. If this gets confirmed I'll update the PDF.
