  1. Good luck. All the usual disclaimers apply!!! That last link above is the most concise.
  2. Sorry just to confirm, you can reinstall just parts of your file system from a time machine back up? Yes. Ideally if you have all the applications (and any product keys) on hand you wouldn't want to restore the application folders. You'd be better just restoring your personal files and doing a clean install of the OS and any applications you want to keep. There's some stuff on this page, it's a little out of date but not massively, covering using migration assistant to selectively grab stuff from a time machine. http://www.macworld.com/article/1165784/how_to_restore_data_from_time_machine.html Good stuff here: http://pondini.org/OSX/SetupLion.html Here's a quite short version of above: http://www.macworld.com/article/2066996/how-to-transfer-backups-from-time-machine-to-a-new-mac.html If it were me, I'd only restore/migrate the "User Account" data, not Settings or anything else as that's where any "slowness" may be "hiding".
  3. You're sort of in between, a full reinstall of the OS and then full restore from time machine will only put you back where you started. I'd be tempted to do a full reinstall of the OS but not restore anything from time machine except the Documents folder, however it depends on how you've got your personal files plus music and media arranged over your storage. Then just reinstall the applications you want, but with picking and choosing data and applications, it's going to be a time consuming faff. Whatever you do, make sure you've go backups first
  4. If you're gonna run android, why not just strip down a cheap tablet?
  5. Zed looks great
  6. See post #3, you could Alex for pre-loved, Clark Motorsport for new or GMB likes the eBay ones. Plenty of options!
  7. Who retrimmed your wheel? Looks great! http://royalsteeringwheels.com
  8. All that green space and they follow each other down the road. How deep is it? If it catches your nail, then only paint will put it back to perfect
  9. At least it's value has been increased with the door "decal", should cover the cost of the tickets
  10. OMG it's TVs now, Samsung are the new evil megacorp. http://gu.com/p/4cq4e?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Where's it going to end :scare:

  14. Little extra cheese on the taco?
  15. Well, I'm sure they have enough money to sort it out but it's a complete public relations disaster...how much long term damage will this have done to their reputation? Pete It's an interesting question Pete. For me, and I'm assuming a few on here, I don't buy cars because of their emissions or tax band. So it would't cross my mind if I was considering a VAG car in the future, not like a major safety recall might. That said, I saw some guy on the news talking about how "cheated" he was and that he bought his VW "due to the clean credentials" (a diesel for cleanliness, really?), so perhaps some people will. Though, I couldn't really decide if the chap was being disingenuous because he sniffs some compo from VAG. I bet most people will still buy a golf because it sounds like a golf
  16. Not just you at all, it's a stupid test designed to make stupid consumers feel better about their stupid purchases. So what are you saying?
  17. More goodies arrived today, got a whole bunch of mods lined up ready for my next trip to the tech Shocks and spring, thank you Ewen @ Clark Motorsport ARBs and drop links, thank you Octet @ Torqen Shiny plenum, thank you MopedMark New steering wheel, as above ^^^ Super exicted!
  18. You'll be saying Windows XP is out of support next YOU DAM DIRTY GEEKS!!!
  19. From a Test Strategy point of view am I the only one who naively thinks that setting a Test Criterion of "Produce X amount of badness at Y rpm" is actually the root cause of this problem? Rather then evil megacorp?
  20. I read they found 6 billion down the back of the sofa for sorting the mess out, probably only affect one year's results.
  21. Anyone got any technical info into what they're actually going to do during the recall to "fix" it? Just re-map them to death until they do 0-60 in 30 minutes like a good old fashioned diesel?
  22. I really like the leaf for what it is, cheap to run commuter/trip to the shops cruncher, they're a nice place to sit in traffic. The app that goes with it is cool too, so you can fire up the heater in the winter before getting in. Enjoy!
  23. Can you tell me the lists of all the service parts you got there? As I am due to p3 full service in 6 weeks. Thanks. Errr, there's quite a bit. 5 litres of OEM coolant, 6 litres of titan pro engine oil (5w-30?), PAS fluid (same as OEM auto transmission fluid I think, but check that), couple of litres of brake/clutch fluid, OEM diff fluid, OEM gear oil, HKS panel filter, HKS oil filter, some molyslip and a partridge in a pear tree Easiest option is to and get a P3 kit. I think I got my engine oil from Opie and the HKS goodies from somewhere else, though you can also get a cosworth panel and OEM oil filter more easily/cheaply. I also got some stuff from Cougar Store - http://cougarstore.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_12 If you're going the whole hog, why not get some belts and spark plugs too! I've not used a bad trader on here yet and most of them can supply some/all of the stuff if you get in touch.
  24. You can always mix things up if there's a big group, have a funner car or two mixed in with some RV action and swapperoony around so everyone gets a go in the truck and with the muscle!
