  1. All pads have it, not these specifically (well from my experience), it's the single piece disc that doesn't help. You can get knockback springs or 2 piece discs.
  2. I nipped up (yeah 5 hours) to Anglesey on the weekend for a trackday yesterday there. This time armed with some AD08R's, and surprisingly dry, sunny weather ! Opentrack did a great job of giving us 2 different layouts, initially the long version then after lunch the cool one with the corkscrew bit. The Yoko's performed very well indeed, zero problems with them and quick to stabilise pressure (34 hot). And once again these DCT-70's are extremely good, and this time I could lean on them a lot harder (a little continually too much at one point with a big lock up hehe). Zero issues with fade, and always there for you. The only thing with all pads you seem to get is knockback, so you some times just need to prime the brake pedal (a quick tap to get pressure behind the piston again). So @Adrian@TORQEN will hopefully have a set of Stoptech 2 piece floating discs soon which should improve that. I'm using TYP200 fluid and haven't had an issue with that stuff, just need to change it now (I think 3 or 4 track days is fine, then probably best to put fresh in there). As mentioned before, the pads are very dusty so make sure you clean off the wheels when you can. All in all, I'm still very, very impressed.
  3. I just wanted to say another thank you to again @Adrian@TORQEN You've become my 'dealer' More bits and bobs to come, and I'll add it to the relevant threads in due course
  4. My one will be available in a week or two if you aren't happy with that one.

I have a pair of fronts only with 1 week old Pilot Sport 4 tyres. As usual, they need a refurb (I'm down near Junc 8 M25 though), anyway I'll post everything up on a separate thread soon.
  6. Many thanks Andy Fitted and tyres on yesterday.
  7. That's pretty much the kit I have, so I'm wondering if the receiving cup was catching the ball joint. I don't suppose you have a measurement for the receiver?
  8. Ah thats very cool of you However I ordered one, and a massive heavy weight ball point hammer too (just in case). I do have a slight feeling I was using the wrong cup thing on the c-clamp as well (so I'll try that first again) Krytek49: I also have one of those, however it's not got the secondary hole (ooer) to give it some extra height. Once again, it's cheap enough to grab one though !
  9. Howdy @Ebized, yes something like that must surely work ! Have you used one for them as well ?
  10. Firstly a huge thank you to @Adrian@TORQEN for supplying these bad boys very quickly to me, along with a plethora of other bits and bobs recently They arrived in good time before I had a track day at Donnington last week (first time there). I run a street pad, and then switch out for track pads as they're expensive and always very noisy. I've been using CL RC5+ pads for the last 3 years, however the rears had some life nicked from them before I realised about the stability control nipping away at them. (I pull the fuse to disable tc/sc/abs, and soon will wire up the nifty little device cs2000 made https://www.350z-uk.com/topic/121590-350z-370z-full-tcs-vdc-disable-with-memory/) They still have some life in them, so I'll just keep them in the car as backups. I'm still running Stoptech discs and street pads, as per this thread: https://www.350z-uk.com/topic/115424-review-stoptech-street-pads-slotted-discs/ Finding a supplier for the CL pads wasn't proving easy, and I had a look through what Torqen could supply, and I saw the DCT-70's: https://www.hawkperformance.com/dtc-70 I spent a bit of time looking for reviews but there aren't that many kicking around, however I knew that our good old friend @GT4 Zed was running them on his GTR. He did recommend that I go with 70's on the front and 60's on the rear but by that point it was too late as they had arrived at the office. I swapped them over and on the way up to Donny I thought I'd see what they were like, albeit not a proper bedding in session as I didn't have time. Once a little heat was in them, and some pad material had transferred onto the disc I gave them a little shove. I ended up crying with laughter at how ferocious the stopping power and bite was, that hasn't happened before and it was really just showing it's teeth. Once on track, I did a few sighting laps (so not full on) and came back in to let the car cool down for 20 mins. The brakes had a little smoke, and I grabbed a coffee. As it was sold out, the day itself was very busy, so at times quite frustrating moving out of the way for cup cars or radicals etc. However, once I had a bit of space and was able to start leaning on them, they are utterly ridiculous and quickly showed the weak point of the tyres (PS4). They just can't keep up with this pad compound, so if you do use them try a track focused tyre. I locked up a few times and had to learn to be cautious braking as they just wipe away speed very quickly. So far I'm very happy and seriously impressed (AD08R's popped on for Anglesey next). I'll update the thread as I go along. Note, I don't recommend using these on the street, waaay too much noise and dust IMHO
  11. Hi guys, I had a look on YouTube to see what people were using to remove their front lower ball joints, I saw a few using the heavy duty c-clamp with various cups. I have one of these kits but I've tried a couple of times but no joy. Although I wonder now if a bit of user error was involved not lining it up properly. I also tried a ball point hammer being hit with a club hammer. I have a 12 ton press but it's down at my mum's place, and it'll be a little faff moving it around (not impossible). Any other choices I could try? I know people use those forks but they come in a few sizes. Cheers for any help!
  12. Love the wheels on it, what are they? (inc tyre specs)
  13. It's definitely not brake fluid, too thin and I have brakes (of course I'll check the fluid anyway). The only thing is I know there is a very small amount of oil leaking from the rocker cover in that corner. I ran the car last night and put the little camera into that area but it didn't run out. However, on track perhaps it did. The photo below shows it, car running, black bit on the right is the rocker cover (passenger side).
  14. I had it on my friends ramps yesterday, I should have checked I'll try tonight, fire it up and see if I can see anything. I don't think the consumption had be awry either.
  15. Hey Jack, yes the fluid stuff inside was bright green, the oil that I've seen is like a honey colour. My engine oil is usually darker than that though.
  16. Hi guys, During my top end rebuild, I evacuated the AC compressor at a local garage to me so that I could move it and the lines out of the way. I've not since regassed it as I know it's got to come out again when the long tubes arrive. However the other day when I was just checking the car over after a track day, I noticed there was some oil that had blown into the wheel well. I initially thought damn it the shocks are leaking, however once I got the car up I could see it wasn't that. Whilst poking around and looking I noticed that the AC comp had some evidence of oil dripping from it, fresh looking. I thought perhaps some had dribbled onto it from the rocker cover (near the dipstick), as I can see a very small amount near the rtv (not a leak, just like a small line). However now I'm wondering if the AC comp had pee'd itself as I do definitely remember accidentally turning the AC on when I was in the pits for a few moments. I'll try and poke the little borescope camera around it tonight as I have another track day on Friday !
  17. I also just ordered the kidney stays/brackets they connect too as well from @Adrian@TORQEN However, my ones seem to be connected to a thin rusty sheet that connects to the other one. Not sure how that comes off yet !
  18. My one just arrived at work, many, many thanks ! Wow that's a fantastic bit of work you've done there, very impressed how clean, tidy and professional you've made it

I have one sat in my garage right now, with whiteline bushings too! It's the vlsd, in the case ready to be fitted. I'm based in Surrey (not far from junction 8 on the M25). EDIT: Good to meet you, and good luck with the drifting !
  20. Hey guys, If anyone has a spare set of Rays in good/reasonable condition, please send me a PM. Ideally if I can collect KT20 based (Surrey), or if posting is an option ? Many thanks guys (and yep I pinged ZMANALEX a message too)
  21. I have to say I was very tempted in them too, although I know there's just a wee bit of work to get it all singing!
  22. No update but I appreciate your reminder! I'd still really like to fabricate something, I need to get myself a couple of bits of software. I can make stuff in my 3d software at work but it would need to go into another bit of software for someone to manufacture it I guess. I do have another idea too, hopefully that won't take another 3 years.
  23. Both L & R are like that just to note. Whenever this new set arrives I shall keep an eye on them, does the current alignment seem ok or still likely to cause that sort of wear ? I notice that the new AD08R's have a broader/squared shoulder compared to the Mich.
