Mother had a 56 plate cooper which she loved. Early model had some coolant loss issues which could have been cracked expansion tank or leaking thermostat which were both common and I think the coolant pumps were soft too. My mother now has a 61 plate cooper s which she likes but not as much as her old one. I'd have to agree the mk1 is more fun but there's not that much in it. New model had a recal for a coolant thermostat retrofit. Word of warning tho. MAke sure your daughter is happy with selecting reverse if its a newer car as there is a heavy spring to overcome to select it which is overkill IMO. My mother hates it and now walks lop sided with the shoulder muscles she's developed on her left side! Oh and tyre pressure sensors are common on both.

Just a quick one. Your nismo intakes, are the stealers actually offering any more with them on? Theyre definitely worth more than the standard boxes on here and I doubt the stealers would even notice they were gone!

Great replacement and a great price for the 370z. Always fancied an M5 touring but bottled it due to running costs. Also ended up buying two cars with one being the 350z after my daughter was born so probably would have been more cost effective with the M5! Good luck with fatherhood. Ours is just over 4 months now. It's the best feeling in the world!

Works every time for me too. Like you say doesn't have to be a cross country sprint but let the revs build till you get the howl then a nice positive shift or two and all is forgotten!

Suzuki cappuccino. You'll get one in need of some TLC for much cheapness. It's light, rear wheel drive and has a turbo. Bits are cheap too!

Not sure if its in budget, I'd imagine it would be but how about a Suzuki Jimny? Not exactly sporty but well respected by 4x4 enthusiasts. Or maybe a fiat panda 4x4. Every year I go away snowboarding I always see lots of these in the resorts.

I used to be big on modding my cars and spent a ridiculous amount on my first car, a 1.3 sr nova. The zed is the first car in years I have owned where I feel proud to own albeit I've had some decent cars during that time but none that give you that giddy feeling like the zed does. It's the first car I hadve modified in years too so regardless how tame and boring they seem to some on here to me it is something I enjoy doing and like to share with others. Small mods to me can be more interesting than say FI on a zed. At the end of the day it's just an add on turbo or charger regardless of extra horses or cost and time taken to do. Any of us could do this quite easily given the money. In short if someone wants to post a pic of a new gear knob that's made their zed ownership the slightest bit more enjoyable then I am happy to look at their pics and enjoy it with them the same as a MONSTER FI build thread

Touchy subject this isn't it!! There are always gong to be many positives and many negatives when it comes to benefits of any kind. I too have some issues with the whole disability benefits thing but that's because of my scamming aunt so I can see where the OP was trying to go with the initial post but......

I have the same wheels and the same problem. Everyone says powdercoat for durability but fact is they will look nowhere as good as a refurb to as was out the factory. Problem being that the later would require a bit more upkeep!
