  1. I'm only coming for burgers on Saturday, but just so you don't ignore me, here's my mugshot, taken at the Moreton last year. I'm the one in the orange t-shirt...... The dude with the guns is Chirag. And my Zed. My name is Ian I usually use a different name on a weekend, but she's not coming.....
  2. I had a Mk1 225 TT. Since buying my Z I've never wished I still had the TT - And I've ownedmy Z over3 years now. If you're a member of the TT forum and are used to the readily available advice and support it gives (which is often needed when owning a TT ), this is something else that the Z offers. This forum and its members add to the ownership experience. Couple of threads worth a read: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/22880-guide-for-new-memberspotential-buyers/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77426-buyers-guide/ Good luck with the search
  3. And if it's too dusty in your garage to paint them, with wind and rain outside, just paint them in your dining room!

    Plenum top half

Me too (especially one that's already been powdercoated). Depending on your reason for needing one, I might buy it and then sell it to you for £80 when you get desperate.
  5. Cheers Martin. I think it's made the car look a bit meaner and 'purposeful' (?)
  6. Twelve squid for a t-shirt printed front, back and sleeves? Bargain! Are they available in orange?
  7. Oh and I painted the polished lip on my wheels gloss black as they were looking a little tired (not tyred). I've found all black rims a bit Marmite, so actually tried black Plastidip first, liked it, then painted and lacquered them. I really like how they've changed the look of the car. Random B&Q car park phone pic
  8. Couple of Zed updates. My car appeared in the June edition of Fast Car magazine! And I finally got the number plate I'd been chasing DVLA for a while for. I inquired with the DVLA early last year to see if this plate was available for purchase and was very pleased when they responded and said that it was not currently assigned to a vehicle, so they had noted my interest and said it would feature in a future auction. However, they could not tell me when, or which auction I continued to pester them, offering to purchase the plate outside of the auction process, but was faced with the same responses; "We've noted your interest, it will feature in a future auction, we can't tell you which or when, but we'll let you know". I'd pretty much given up hope, until last month when I received an email informing me my plate had been released and would be in the next DVLA timed online auction (basically DVLA eBay). Cutting a longer story short (and a very nervous week later) - I won! Fortunately for me, no one else bid and I secured it for the reserve price. For those that don't know me, my name is IAN DOLE, hence the reason I REALLY wanted this plate
  9. +1 I'll be working in Gateshead for three months from tomorrow, so will keep my eyes open for you and your Zed
  10. Top job Vlad. Look forward to seeing your progress and the car at Trax
  11. Thanks very much all. Some great pointers and useful insight. Will keep you posted if the idea develops any further. Many thanks again

    Eyebrows

    Rickdon's got a HR. I didn't realise there was a difference though.
  13. That's another of the aspects I'm looking forward to/interested in Alex. And that side of things would be me as the other guy doesn't even own a socket set
  14. Been having conversations with my mate about track day cars etc, with the thoughts of getting something with a budget of £2k (goings halves on it and all associated expenses). We're thinking of a Clio 182, strip it out, fit seat(s) and harnesses etc and generally just having some fun in it. But apart from buying the car and doing the above, don't really know much more about what's involved. We'd obviously do more research before taking the plunge on a car, but I quite like the idea of learning as we go. I know a few of you have cars/toys you use for track days and there is one major hurdle that we may fall at before we even get started - we've nowhere to keep it! So I was wondering, where do you guys keep yours? Is my assumption that you are lucky enough to have enough room/space at home to keep it, along with spares etc, or are there other options such as renting units, barn space, garages etc? And if so, what (rough) costs are involved? This is just an idea two car enthusiasts have at getting their kicks and it may not even progress any further than just an idea. But I figure this was the best forum and resource I have to ask such questions. Cheers, Ian
  15. Thanks a lot guys Yep, well chuffed Mike. All the details are in the mag you've just bought. Just turn the page after mine. Send them some pics and some text (I also sent a link to my build thread ). You know me, I like to put it about a bit Where next? Just wait till next month.....
  16. Haha Nah mate, it's your gig. I'm just gatecrashing for the afternoon. As long as there's burgers, I'll be there
  17. Vauxhall Corsa VXR Green I think.
  18. I was gonna pop up and mingle with you guys on Saturday at the Moreton after you'd been out for the morning;s drive. Can I stay for the BBQ if I bring £7?
  19. Yep http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/95812-350z-drifting-at-beginning-of-welcome-to-the-jungle-by-axe-black/ I only found it cos I commented
  20. I've just had my near side rear arch done. Was rusty in three places. The necessary was cut out and replaced, then the paint blended in. It's a cracking job with good colour match. This cost me £300.
  21. I agree with the above. I think they would make great 'two parters'. The pulling apart etc in the first, with details of the work that's required, then the second hour showing the work that goes into restoring the cars. Still a good show though. Same as Car S.O.S.
