  1. I like Rossi, but I'm not his biggest fan. I've lost a lot of respect for him following his comments and interviews with the global press prior to qualifying. I think it's shown his TRUE colours. Yes, he is a great rider, but from what I've read (over the years) from other riders etc, the VR everyone sees in front of the camera, isn't the same one one doors close. This weekend is going to be a nail biter. I'm gonna watch this one live And COME ON DANNY!!!!
  2. Thanks all. I appreciate your comments Haha Well spotted. Tango Man was complaining of a cold head, so I treated him (and the fluid reservoir).
  3. Cheers guys I'd usually be inclined to agree with you. And would think doing everything in one colour would be OTT. And TBH, my engine bay is a bit! But, that's kinda what I'm going for. I agree that a two colour combo/contrast do work very well. A lot of my favourite bays use two colours. As well as all the orange, I do have carbon covers which offer a little contrast. Modifications are a very personal thing - sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes not I really like how my car and engine bay looks now, I appreciate not everyone will. They can choose not to do the same to their own cars.
  4. Yes it was a VXR8. I was a little disappointed I couldn't hear the V8 in all the time I spent close to it. But I did have the bungs out my K1...
  5. Whoever said that I couldn't possibly get any more orange under my bonnet were clearly not literally thinking 'under the bonnet'. With the engine bay drawing most of the focus, I felt the mirrors on the underside of the bonnet were being missed. So I thought I'd draw attention to this too and paint the bonnet orange too! I think it helps make the bonnet part of the engine bay. I'm really pleased how it came out.
  6. Awesome MotoGP race today. Brilliant. I did wonder though.... I'm sure 100,000's of euros and 100's of R&D hours have been put into the development and testing of the new 'wings' to improve aerodynamics and downforce etc. But if you throw a seagull at a motorcycle at over 100mph, breaking A large chunk off the fairing, it makes no difference, and even put a rider on the podium!
  7. I was just wondering where all the pretty girls in next to nothing and heels, leaning into engine bays were. I've seen Fast & Furious. I felt short changed.
  8. Fixed that for you Bob Bugger. Just realised that if anything tasty pops up in the classifieds already painted in WV2 Gunmetal, I'm gonna stand no chance of spotting it first now! But k owing how often Bob changes his mind, patience may be my virtue. to the grey club Buster. Although why do I feel this Z won't stay grey.....
  9. Thanks Deano. Haha yes I suppose you can!
  10. Most recently, I went to a 'meet' in Worcester. My car did get quite a bit of attention (which was nice) and I found a few photos on social media the day after. Here are a few of my faves.
  11. Pleased with my DIY rattle can spray job, I figured it was time to go get some better pics.
  12. Oooookayyyyyy overdue update time. Summer kicked off with a trip to Wales for the forum weekender Not long after, things took a turn for the worst (literally). When out for a drive and doing a U-turn into the lay-by to take this photo... This happened That was the Nismo style lip FUBAR'd then I was honoured when my friend asked me to take her son to his Prom. Bungs also came out of the K1 for this - and stayed out! Then it was showtime!! Had a great weekend with a trip to Donington on the Saturday for the Nissan Event Day, then onto Silverstone on the Sunday for Trax. After Trax, the hunt for a new front lip started. Although the plastidipped centre section was growing on me, I missed having a front lip. I initially wanted something different from the Nismo style lip I had originally. I wanted the GT style lip, but when this one popped up on eBay, and was within driving distance to go pick it up, my mind was made up. Test fit: I liked it, a lot actually, but I wasn't keen on leaving it all black, but also wasn't keen on just painting it all Gunmetal either. So I had an idea.... I bought some masking tape, some rattle cans and set to work. And this is what happened. Well chuffed
  13. I know Wasso and Bennett (GT4 Zed) have previously recommended this guy (Carl) as he's worked on both of their 350Z's City Motors Unit B 50 London Rd, Worcester. WR5 2DS Tel. 01905 616480
  14. Bloody hell - This needs updating! Pop back soon folks
  15. I've literally just (last week) painted my PU lip. I used a plastic primer (rattle can) from Halfords. They do also do a plastic filler primer which would be better, as it helps cover the imperfections in the PU.
  16. Paint it gloss black. The PU looks unfinished if fitted fresh from the box IMHO.
  17. Like Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, I think we may need to categorise this condition we all suffer from. Because this has now gone way beyond 'just' being Zeditis

    My new front lip.

Thanks all, I really appreciate it It's less of a snow plough than the previous Nismo one! Cheers Olly. No, these are TSW Jarama. Not sure you can get them anymore I'm afraid. Plus they originally came with a polished lip. But that's another rattle can story..... Found a couple more pics I realised I hadn't uploaded. Shows the profile of the lip from a few more angles.

    My new front lip.

If I'm honest, the GT was my first choice, but then this popped up on eBay in an auction and it was only 45 mins away. I'd only seen photos before, but once I collected it and test fitted, I really like it as it was indeed, something different.

    My new front lip.

After demolishing my Nismo style front lip, I took the opportunity to get something slightly different. Enter King style lip stage left. Test fit. I couldn't decide whether to paint it gloss black or colour match it like my previous lip. But then I thought "why not do both"?! Those that know me will know I like having a bash at things myself. So I picked up some grey plastic primer and gloss black paint from Halfrauds, ordered some colour matched WV2 (Gunmetal grey) paint in a rattle can online, cleared an insufficient but (just about) manageable space in the garage and set to work. And here it is, the finished article. I'm pleased with how it came out considering it's a DIY rattle can job. What d'yall think?
  21. I was gonna say +1 for Mitz at CS too. But the I noticed the original post was 10 months ago, so I imagine the service and MOT has long since happened! Still give a for CS though
  22. Quick question for those that are handy with spray paint. I need to mask off a curved area before paint. I'm assuming that there's a more suitable tape for this (and one with a cleaner/sharper edge) than the white paper like stuff for home DIY jobs. What is it I'm looking/asking for? From the numerous car restoration/customisation programs I seem to now watch, there appears to be a blue(?) coloured tape. Is this it and what's it called? Any help would be appreciated (especially masking a curved profile). Cheers, Ian
