  1. I've cracked it! This was all a conspiracy by Porsche all along. The time line goes something like this; The world want to see the 918, La Farrari and the P1 go head to head. TG inform the world that Ferrari and McLaren won't agree terms, Porsche sit about looking confidently smug. The world collectively sulks at the prospect this won't happen. Ferrari and McLaren fold to peer pressure. TG tell the world this. Porsche second guess their confidence. Clarkson et al go filming for a day, Porsche kidnap the hotel's chef, butcher and cows (just to be sure). Clarkson can't get a steak, acts like a petulant ****; prolonged verbal abuse and a physical altercation follow. "Clarkson" reports "himself". ;) BBC investigate, Clarkson is dropped, Porsche return to looking confidently smug. The only true course of justice here is to forfeit all Porsche products until such a time that Clarkson can get a hot steak... or something.
  2. Depends how often you wash. With a glaze, you can add more every day without any harm to anything but your wallet. More realistically though, maybe 3/4 times a year would probably be sufficient - you'd only want to re-apply a glaze when defects start to show again. You can do this as often as you wish really. Re-applying wax will depend on the wax largely, but any decent wax should last 2-3 months or so easily between top-ups - you won't need to glaze before every wax application, and you only need to top-up the wax when the protection shows signs of wear... how this is measured is "debatable" at best. Water behaviour is the indicator I use - when the beading and/or sheeting changes dramatically, it's as good a time as any to reapply.
  3. Completely off topic, but the Z looks well Gixxeruk. The Porsche looks okay too I guess, for a Porsche.
  4. HD Wax is a fairly good wax to be honest so you're happy with that, stick with it. For the wet look by hand you'll want an oily glaze - either Poorboys Black Hole or Auto Finesse Ultra Glaze would be my choice, then top with HD Wax.
  5. Don't worry about the colour charged marketing ploy. Unless you're applying in multiple layers onto a white car, side-by-side, you're unlikely to be able to notice it.
  6. Perhaps point them in the direction of the numerous trader appreciation threads on this very "malicious" forum. I don't think there's one for J17 though.
  7. Also it'll depend on whether you want to correct the paint or mask any defects or just want the finish on good paint? What sort of finish are you looking for? What sort of durability? Do you intend to use HD Wax still?
  8. It's the same for wheels, Stu - if they've been baked they should be okay, otherwise it's usually advisable to leave them for anything up to a month before sealing. Best to consult your painter for confirmation. As to the OP, consult this very recent thread, but in essence; Wax = FK1000P, top up every other month, wash with nothing more than soapy water and you're sorted. Coating = GTechniq C1/4/5, top up once a year a or so and wash with just a pressure washer (or less).
  9. You'd be a great person to have around half an hour after the event.
  10. No? They all wear hats. Apparently.
  11. You'll glad to hear that he's flat out refused on a number of occasions already. Replace Jimmy Carr with Jay Leno and you've got yourself a winner right there.
  12. Ask for commission. Include the details; 1.4 million - posted link of forum - nearly 2 million just 6 hours later.
  13. I couldn't agree more to that, Dan. I think the best thing the BBC can do is change the format to suit whoever ends up doing it rather trying to find someone to simply replace the Clarkson character. They need to acknowledge that it won't be the same without Clarkson, so they shouldn't even try to make it so.
  14. Don't be silly, the cats would have had that pigeon by now. Get it? Exhaust, pigeon, cats....
  15. Whether it was a smart business decision or not (and I suspect you're probably right there, Dan), what Tony Hall's statement said was; What their actions say is; It's the easy way out, but I agree with Jetpilot in as much as the BBC hasn't actually done anything about the incident that it "can't condone".
  16. Well I never knew that. Does that mean I've lost my other 4 points too or do I at least get something for recognising it as a non-GT?
  17. In that case... I have no explanation for it.
  18. No, they declined to sign his new contract. That's different to being sacked.
  19. That's just it though, they haven't sacked him.
  20. It is possible even on the softest of paint, trust me. Granted, some marring is likely, but it's not guaranteed.
  21. And that changes what about my post? He'll still be paid for the work he's done that hasn't aired, as per his current contract. As there is now official confirmation that there was a physical altercation of some description, he should have been sacked outright, regardless of if his contract had 6 days, 6 months or 6 years left to run. It's a cop out to simply agree not to renew his contract. Sadly the speculation of who's going to replace him, whether the other two will stay, whether the format remains, etc. etc. now begins.
  22. But not crossed enough to sack him, just enough not to renew his contract. So in the mean time he's still getting paid as per his still valid contract.
